Can someone port moto face unlock app for g5s+....?
If you could get your hands on the APK, it might install on the G5S Plus. If not, it looks a lot like it's just a frontend for Google Smart Lock anyways, so it's not like you're missing out on anything.

Came from a Nexus4 to Z3C, and my only and biggest dissapointment is the missing google dialer - I was not aware it is not available to non-nexus(play edition) phones. The KitKat dialer with quick local business-search is very handy, and I desperately want it back. I see that it can be done with root, but I also see rooting Z3 causes some issues with DRMs and such.
Does anyone know a way to get the google dialer working without root, or will we soon get a root method without compromising?
Use a third party dialer like dialer+ or ex dialer?

As far as I know this will not give the functionality I'm after?
The google dialer gives me ALL businesses that's not in my contacts(and has caller ID built-in):

The best replacement I've found is TrueDialler, its fairly similar in functionality in that it can tell you who is calling and it looks fairly stock like. You can use google search to get the same phone numbers you saw in the phone app.
any idea why this feature hasn't been rolled out more widely across non Nexus devices? Seems strange that Google would keep this to itself, and if they aren't keeping it to themselves I don't understand why other companies wouldn't integrate it.

No idea, but i also find it odd that a company like Sony would implement such a crummy dialer app when the stock Google version is so good. The Xperia dialer is THE worst of the altogether pretty bad basic apps Sony gives us (calendar, messaging, contacts etc.).

The exact part i miss is the auto search for businesses direct from dialer, does that function in truedialler? Incoming caller ID I already have through another domestic app.
The truedialer does search..! I love you, arj154! Just noe thing; do you know how to get special characters, æøå?

lol no problem, im not sure how to do special characters in truedialler and it looks like you cant do it for now but it might be something to ask the developers about, they could possibly add it in a future update. The only other way around it is possbily to search for those in google now.
Hello guys,
I've been using the google cardboard with my moto X for some time without any issue but after switching to CM I can't get it working properly anymore.
The problem comes from the images displayed on screen, they should be pretty similar to let your brain merge them but as we can clearly see on the screenshot (linked below) there is a huge difference of image.
Do you have any idea how could I fix that ?
Thanks for your help
Okay, I've an XT1900-2. The Non-FI version. But I've gone ahead and flashed the Android one ROM and everything is working well, but the Moto Actions in this ROM is devoid of the Fingerprint Gesture that I love.
So any Non-FI folk be kind enough to share the .apk, please??
Awaiting....
Here it is. I've added the Moto, Moto Screen and Moto Key aswell, just in case they are needed.
Folders are taken straight out of my /system/priv-app, not sure if you need to copy the odex files aswell.
PS: Next time when requesting some file, don't mark the thread as Q&A. It doesn't allow me to upload files directly to XDA this way.
Thanks, will keep that in mind. BTW, your Moto Actions shows Fingerprint Gestures? Even after replacement, mine doesn't show anything.
Yep, it shows everything here (inside Moto app). Did you also replace the Moto.apk app or did you just install the MotoActions?
No man, not working. Thanks for the apps and help, though.
I'm looking to strip out the proprietary bloatware that came preinstalled on my device (already got rid of a bunch of amazon stuff via the ADB), and I'm wondering how much of the moto crap I can get rid of too without losing my ability to get automatic security updates. Right now I'm looking at Moto, Moto Actions, Moto App launcher, Moto Display, and Motorola Notifications. I'm looking at going to a different launcher, and I'm just trying to work out which of these apps is essential for the phone to continue functioning properly. If it's safe to do, I would also appreciate some help finding those package names so I can nuke them via ADB as well.
Update: did more research. Stripped out everything aside from the moto app launcher that I replaced with Evie. Only reason it's still installed is the fact that I can't work out the actual APK name.

all of my previously rooted phones had threads where there was a list of "safe to remove apps". why does this list not exist for our moto x4? who is your provider ghost55?

AT&T, but I got it unlocked from amazon. I ended up using the ADB to remove all of the amazon crap as well as almost all of the moto proprietary stuff, (I only left the launcher I think) and it's been fine so far.

So why bother keeping the launcher if you went with another? I'm about to remove em all too but I'm on Google Fi's Android One version. I don't think I need any of Motorola's bloatware and I hate the idea of excess apps taking my space, RAM, and battery EVER.
I am surprised there's no one else chiming in on what's needed to o keep her functional. I like lean and mean

Oh ya, there's an app for that. APK inspector I think it's called. I don't have it currently installed but I have 2 in my play library. Report back on it later
Found 63 apps with Moto in it's name. I believe the launcher is com.motorola.launcher3

Thanks. Guess I'll ADB in and nuke that too when I have the chance.
I know Outlook is not specifically 'proprietary', however, its something I don't use and have not found a way to remove the app.
Anyone else have success in removing Outlook?

Awesome info! So one can remove preinstalled bloatware on Amazon Exclusive phones via adb commands?
Question of the day, will this affect future updates?

I need the moto g7 weather widget to install it in other Device ?
It is sooo beautiful
Isnt it the Same Widget as on other Moto phones?
The time and weather Widget?
You could install XWidget and use one of the skins here: XWidget Moto Skins
Updated: I also came across these, though I haven't installed them myself, given that I'm using a G7 Power. The former is for Z3 and seems to replace the transparent background with one reflecting current conditions. The latter indicates it's for a E5 Cruise but looks pretty identical. Good luck.

Hey! Is there anyone who could share the apk of the Time & Weather moto app/widget? I know that various versions of the app can be found on XDA and on the internet in general, but I'm looking for the Android 9 Pie version, not any older ones, and unfortunately I can't find it anywhere. My phone runs Pie, and I've had some minor issues with the Oreo apk, so I'd love to be able to get the latest version to give it a try, because I really do like the app. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me in any way! Thank you in advance :fingers-crossed:

I've just tried installing the app, and it can't be done, unfortunately. It might be because my phone is not a Moto, but I've been able to install other Time & Weather apk files, so I don't really know. If you, or anyone else, know what can be done to install the app, I'll be glad to read about it, but I still really do appreciate your help, so thanks anyway
Can I change the battery percentage color?
It works a little, thw problem is when you try to add your city, it force closes.
Can someone help port the latest moto time and weather app to work with OnePlus7T, please?
