BK package disabler - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Doesn't this no longer work on the note 9?
I was a paid user of this app on my Note 8, but I just tried using it now and got the following.View attachment 4583465

Nope it doesn't work anymore. I paid for it too.

I get an invalid package name error. How did you get it to work?

There is 2 of them. The one with the blue icon. Honestly dont know how it worked. I installed it asked for permission then something happened with Knox. I was rushing to check if it will work so I did not read or take pictures. At the end the app was installed and then I searched of Mcfee disabled it.

The dev gives a statement as to why the app may no longer work for some users:
"OEM (Samsung) don’t like Package Disabler tools, so they try to block the BK Package Disabler in many ways, putting hacks in operating system updates, updating SE Linux security policy, stop license, etc.
When you read this message, it means our BK Package Disabler may not work now. Sorry!"
This appears to be a free replacement for BK Disabler, from the same developer/company:
https://kunkunsoft.wordpress.com/about/
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wakasoftware.appfreezer
I have no experience with it,so,I cannot give a :good: or either way, installation & use is the sole responsibility of each person here.

Fine,don't use it.
I get your angst,an app you paid for is no longer supported as-is.
No developer guarantees life-long support for any app.
If you got 2-3 months use from the app,I'd say you got your money's worth,of course, more is better.
At least they've offered up an alternative & a free one at that.
Should Package Disabler Pro stop working,I'll give this one a go myself,it's better than having to deal with a phone that otherwise can't be de-bloated,less root.

You know, you don't me , but I'm always one that pays to support an app that I enjoy and use. But when greed sets in , I take my business elsewhere. As I did with package disabler. I have nothing against BK , since they just flatlely stated their app doesn't work on the n9. It's not as if they recreated another app to upcharge their existing customers like package disabler pro did last year .

Same here,I pay for a lot of apps, opting for Pro versions if I use it for more than a couple of days.
However, you obviously didn't do your homework with a Google search or contacting the developer,to see what's going on.
Instead, you went straight to name calling:

Honestly dude, why don't you use the search function here @ XDA & on Google before cluttering the Note9 forum with so many threads (19 & counting......)

I didn't do my research? I didn't attempt to contact developer? Oh yes I did. There is a whole thread about package disabler pro and plus on the note 8 forums that I had posted in the past.
I'll say this again, I don't have any beef with BK. However I would should they update their app then attempt to repackage it as a new app for sale again. Just like package disabler did.

Exactly, I noticed that I could install and run the app but GoogleWallet NFC is still restricted for us without root editing. Oh wells, hopefully this was a step towards getting NFC restriction lifted one step at a time.
Ive been searching around to enable nfc payments. I have the att active on stock rooted rom. I found a guide for the s4 that required changing your phones name and downloading a special version of wallet, then changing your phones name back once its installed. Im not too excited to download a hacked software that has the ability to access my bank account. Does anyone know of another method to make nfc payments work?

I can confirm that the instructions in that link work. I've been using NFC with Google Wallet on my i537 for a couple months now.
If I knew of a single business near me that accepted it, I probably would have gone through the process to find out for myself. I think the concept of Google Wallet and NFC payments is pretty cool. I'm just waiting for more people to adopt it.

Hopefully we will get the 4.4 update on our devices for tap-to-pay to be enabled! Good news is KitKat allows use of tap-to-pay and the bad news is that there is no time-frame for getting it.

<SOLVED> No Knox App?

Just curious, I saw the knox app om all international and Tmobile versions but I cant find it on my att version. BY Knox I mean the secure profile switcher.
Update 1 :
Koars215 received a correspondence from Samsung:
"after days on days of speaking with att and samsung... corporate finally spilled the beans lol this is coming from samsung mouth the agent told me that att push the device for purchased and did not look over the software in full before putting it on the shelf. They said the reason we can see the knox app in the installation manager is because by default it should be. Also its something that cant be found on its samsung app market place.
END RESULT: Samsung said within the next 1-2 weeks it will push a software update for At&t and t-mobile(i had no clue t-mobile was having the same issue)"
Update 2:
Get the knoxstub.apk from note 3 international and placed it in system after being rooted and now knox is working perfect. Tnx to cburnett
Update 3:
Knoxstub is attached. Tested and it works :good: Tnx to cburnett for the file.
Just open the apk and install normally and let it do its thing.
Exactly I can't find it either.

Me neither. It's strange
To activate it go to Security>Device Administrators.
Word to the wise, if you care about Root or Bootloader Unlock; becareful. No one really knows what Knox changes hardware wise, IF it even changes anything hardware wise and software wise.
Unfortunately there's no way for us on AT&T N3 to disable it completely. But so far, it's not running on mine.

Guys Knox is not an app. It's a security protocol that keeps your information private and also your activity. Anything done in Knox, stays in Knox. Once it's activated it's on and monitors your security.
Here's some more information on how it works.... http://www.samsung.com/global/business/mobile/solution/security/samsung-knox
At&t Note III...& At&t G Pro
mine don't work either
@Jammol your wrong on the the other company's such as sprint there is an/a app on the home screen that allows you to place things inside the container and also Knox have its own store with supported apps. I was on the phone with Samsung advanced tech support and they were scratching their head on why it isn't installed on the device but it is found in the installation manager
I said its not an app because I don't classify it as one. Yes its a container, an environment, an app.
At&t Note III...& At&t G Pro

I will keep you guys updated this will be round 2 with advance tech support (samsung+att)... My guess is if others are having this problem that they will end up pushing a update that fixes this problem. My buddy got the Note 3 for sprint and i saw that its visible from the home screen and had to download the knox store onto the note 3. When i later got my note 3 from att that was the first app i looked for and i wasn't available.

Root w/o Tripping Knox??

So there's a method of rooting the stock Note 3 without tripping Knox => http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-to-root-nf4-knox-0x0-effortless-nf4-t2846142
Wondering if there's been a way yet for the Note 4 for this to happen?

That thread has been around since August. I would venture to say if there was a way, we would have it here. It's unfortunate, but it really doesn't cause nearly as many issues as people think it would. There have been plenty of members to make warranty claims and return their devices to T-Mobile and a word hasn't been said. Most workers at T-Mobile probably don't even know to look for it; they have so many phones they deal with on a daily basis that checking for knox being tripped isn't on their priority list.
I'm using it on ATT though and bought off contract.

I have read that there are Tmobile Note 4 with Rent A Center firmware installed and people are able to install "normal " Tmobile firmware without tripping Knox. That would mean that there is a way to keep Knox at 0 and install modified firmware. I just wonder if that requires special equipment to flash those phones to RAC modification or simply people didn't discover "trick" yet?

And it seems like after rooting, we must flash a custom rom or else some of the features will not work.
I hope to be getting a job in a couple of months, and would love to use my note 4 there. But not sure if they will let me use a phone with Knox tripped.
Rent a center is considered as... Sort of a provider. They have an agreement with Samsung which enables them to install custom firmware, which if it is similar to their laptops, allows them to "lock" the device if their RIDICULOUSLY expensive payments are not made. Its fraud insurance in a way.
I am not sure how you would go about getting around knox. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Its looking like it might be a little while...

Verizon Update BOG9 Brings Samsung Pay Support

Checkend and pulled down an OTA update this morning that carries baseband version G925VVRU4BOG9. Among the boiler plate improvement info the install notes indicate in includes changes to support Samsung Pay. The OTA took what seemed to be about 5 seconds to download over wireless - must be small.

The app is on the playstore now. I just installed it, and as soon as I launch the app, it says I need to update the OS in order to use it.
I do not want to give up root yet. Since my bank is not yet supported, I guess this is not the most importnt thing for me at the moment.
For those of you who have gotten it setup, how is it? Is it a worthwhile feature?

With the impending charge locking update, what are options to keep the Note 7 going?

I'd like to get the Pixel XL, but as it stands it still seems that isn't yet in stock and I have my doubts it'll be available by the nineteenth of this month.
Is there a way to keep the phone from auto updating like it did with the 60% charge restriction without having to root?
Will rooting and using a custom ROM become the only way to keep the Note 7 running come the new update?
Will rooting then impact returning the phone with T-Mobile? Or can you return it to "stock" in order to do so?
I'm rooted with stock os, I just disabled all the samsung crap and didn't get the previous update. So I don't see this coming either. I used titanium backup freeze/ remove method and haven't had any unauthorized updates pushed to my phone. At this point is only way you can do it or else be stuck unable to charge your phone in a week.
Tiger, I've never rooted a phone, but I'm no tech dummy either. What is a good resource to walk me through the process? What will I need to download? PC vs. Mac?

Only way at this point is download the vanilla firmware in the download section. Flash it via Odin, root it right away, and don't let it get online. Load titanium, find the app to download to sd card, then disable to your hearts content and you will be able to keep your phone.

lol....unless your lucky like he is and rooted and stayed on the original firmware there is no way to root and your on the 60% update so no go.
you can roll back to the previous firmware get rid of the 60% update but thats it.
i am also not aware of any package disablers which work now either to prevent the next OTA
there is an ADB method but its not working on all devices from what ive seen

There's another package disabler and method I saw today on the Facebook Note 7 Rebels page.

Go to note7alliance.com , everything is there to block the update. All of the information is free, and they will help if you have any questions. They also have a Facebook page called Note 7 Alliance.
Got an iPhone 7 plus today in matte black. So far so good. Couldn't resist the price so I went for it. T-Mobile is now refunding me my money for the note 7 lol. I'll just wait for Note 8.

What should I disable? Some of these links won't work.

I use a Verizon Note 7 with my tmobile sim. Never receives updates. All of my samsung phones in the last 4 years has been verizon phone using tmo sims. If I ever wanted to get an update I used Kies. I will never connect my note 7 to kies or any samsung SW.

I'm thinking of turning in my phone for a Gear S3. That way I can still use Samsung Pay. I'll just fire up my Note 3 and wait for the Note 8. I'll just keep my two S-pens for the Note 3. They even fit into the Note 3's silo.
