Sorry I couldn't find the post. Someone about a week ago was mentioning that their n9 would lose mobile date and then they had to turn or airplane mode and off to remedy. Well it happened to me today. Signal according to Network signal information was same and it was connected to band 41 Sprint. However no webpages nor data would load, had to turn on airplane mode then back off to get it going again.

Do you have any VPN type ad blocker? I use AdGuard and this happens frequently. Had to turn off AdGuard for net to work.

No, no VPN or blocker installed. Just a few extension blockers on Samsung browser.

Anybody else experiencing this.. Wifi is on and connected but my 4G-LTE arrows are still showing and flashing as if it was transmitting and receiving.. but my Wifi is on??
I am using Launcher Pro instead of LG Home so I have access to the power widget in the Notification Bar but not the LG Home power controller.
I just installed Power Control Plus and it seems to shut off LTE and 3G when you press the 3G button and can keep it off with or without Wifi on.
I've noticed this. It doesn't bother me due to the fact that I have unlimited data. If it want for that it would bug the **** out of me.

As far as I know, on all the android phones I've had, u have to manually shut off mobile data even when connected to wifi. There are apps that include this option when making "profiles" that get triggered (tasker, CPU tuner) but otherwise I think it stays on unless manually turned off. Maybe its not using mobile data but it appears to stay "on".

On my olds droid the 3G would turn off when I got onto a wifi network. I might just be special. Lol

I have the same issue. It actually goes further, because when I manually turn off mobile data through the Settings menu the data icon still stays on. If I use a tool like Dataswitch the icon goes away, but I never had to do that with any of my other phones.
The other issue with wifi that I'm having is that if I set the Wifi sleep policy to turn off after 15 mins of inactivity it can't reconnect after it turns itself off. So when I start using the phone again it just keeps trying to obtain the IP address of the network without ever succeeding. I've tried this on multiple networks. I have to turn off wifi and then turn it back on. Anybody experience this?
These issues aren't big but they're starting to make me question the quality of the LG Revolution and I may exchange it for the Charge.

I have this issue too, and it is annoying. I'm not worried about exchanging it, because I'm sure this will be addressed in the port of CM7 that TheCubed is working on.

Do issues like these usually get fixed in a port of CM7? Do you think the issue of mobile data staying on when it should be off will get addressed as well?
Any idea when CM7 for the Revolution will be available?
Alright, here's the problem. I can connect to my WiFi at work. I get full bars. But it won't pull any data. Nothing loads in any app or browser. It's only here that it happens and I'm the only one with any problems. I've read everything I can find and tried many things (WiFi "fixer" apps (both root and non-root), switching IPs, forgetting the network and setting it up from scratch) to no avail. I've spoken with our network administrator to ask him if he'd blocked any IPs or anything and he assured me that he had not (he doesn't even have the administrative passwords and can't reset the router as it is stuck to the ceiling 50 feet in the air).
So wtf? Anybody have any suggestions outside of a factory reset? I'm all ears. Thanks in advance (I'll also spank your Thanks Button )
Edit: Also, I've been on this network for years. This happened out of nowhere last week and I'm getting frustrated.

AT&T Smart Wi-Fi connection manager is a free app that finds and auto-connects to available hotspots, maximizes battery life by only turning Wi-Fi on & off when needed, logs missed hotspot opportunities for your review and action for subsequent use, and displays your real-time cellular and Wi-Fi data usage.

I can't find the thread where this tip came from at the moment but this is what I remembered. It shouldn't be hard to search thru the forums. It may or may not fix your issue but give it a try anymore. It won't break anything. GL
1. at your dial pad enter *#0011#, this will take you to the SERVICE MODE
2. press the "menu" - the soft key on the left side of home button
3. select "WiFi"
3. toggle the ON/OFF switch to turn off the wifi power save mode.
4. press home button to exit
I've seen android devices fail to resolve domain names on corporate networks. Check if you can ping outside IP addresses and such - if so, there's probably a way to force it to use google public DNS, though of course this won't resolve intranet names...
(Also, before you exert too much effort on this, make sure your corporate wifi is worth connecting to. Some wifi networks in offices are crap...).

Maybe I'm just spoiled by living in a place with excellent 4G LTE coverage, but I don't see any appeal in connecting to random hotspots - I've never connected to a hotspot that performed better than the 4G, and I don't come close to the data limits of my plan (This month I'll hit 1GB for the first time, I think, because our connection at home was out yesterday, and I had to tether for me and roommate who work from home). Plus good deal of the hotspots I tried (before I realized this was silly) didn't even have internet behind them. The majority of the attwifi ones around here (in red cambridge, ma) don't work - on default settings, I'd just be walking along, and bam - no connectivity, what happened? Oh, it autoconnected to an attwifi hotspot that didn't have any internet connectivity.
I turned the WiFi power saving mode off. I'll report back once I get back to work and check the results.

If wifi is enabled it should connect automatically as long as you have previously connected to it and are in range(obviously). When wifi is enabled it scans periodically for wifi networks in the area.

Tasker can do it based on time or location and I think there's a couple others as well... I just use tasker because I use it for a lot of things, but I also just leave Wi-Fi on

Do you experience every now and then that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, but unable to connect to the internet? My temporary solution is disabling then enable WiFi again, then it works. This never happened on my s3 before.

That happened to me a few times the first day I had the phone. I wasn't sure if it was my router or what. But it never happened again. It could also be that I turned wifi calling off right after that so not sure if it was related or just a one time blip. If you have wifi calling on, turn it off and see if it happens again.
I see wifi turns on automatically when around wifi its been connected too, but is there away for it to automatically turn off when not connected? Or i need another app to do that?
Good question, been wanting to know the answer to that question since I had the S8 but couldn't find a solution.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
You might need to use another app like IFTT or Tasker. I've been using IFTT since my S8 and it's worked great.
I remember a app called Juice Defender use to cut off data and wifi after turning off screen and would turn back on when you turn the display back on OR you could set it to turn on wifi whenever you had the app open but when you closed it the wifi would turn off. I don't see the app in the google store but maybe it still functions somewhere else ?
Try Routines from Samsung's Good Lock suite. I just set a condition that turns off wifi if it gets below 10%. Haven't tested it yet but in theory, if I'm walking away from a wifi hotspot and the signal goes below 10%, it should turn off the Wi-Fi.

I use macrodroid. Same idea as tasker but way less complex

As yet, I haven't been able to get any of the Wifi-involved Routines in Good Lock to actually work. Their active, but they don't seem to have any effect.

You're right. The only condition that works is if you're connected to a specific network. I have mine set to put my phone on vibrate when I connect to my home network. When I leave, I set it to come off vibrate when I'm a 300m away from home. Wi-Fi percentage condition doesn't seem to work.
