Doze android - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, does anyone know how to get to this battery consumption optimization screen?
This is the optimization of the battery by Google not that of Xiaomi, then the doze. I can only get there via the greenify settings in the aggressive doze section. I can not find the path in the MIUI settings in the battery section.
I have a xiaomi mi 8 with rom xiaomi.eu miui 10.

I think it's a bug raised in the Xiaomi forum. I also use greenify to check. My bigger concern is how to make our changes in battery optimization stick after rebooting.
No problem on my Asus, but in xiaomi they don't stay as they are after rebooting.

Help in increasing battery life

What kernel is best for battery life and supports Kcal except Hells core?
Zen and Franco kernels are excellent choices. In using Zen currently.
It's all just an illusion

The things that gave my N6 better battery life.
1. Flashing Franco' s kernel (default settings).
2. Black wallpaper (app No Wallpaper).
3. Change wifi-interval to 200 (build.prop editor).
4. Flashed black google now launcher (XDA thread)
5. Disabled services ( XDA Guide to disable Google play services; app 3C Toolbox).
6. Installed app Pixel Battery Saver.
7. Installed app Greenify.
8. Disabled not used apps.
9. Clean Manager to block most apps to auto start.
10. K-9 mail instead of Gmail.
11. Dropbox of the blackout team.
NOTES
Pixel battery saver switches of pixels, there are a lot of options. Needs trial/error. Than it is possible that ticking on button/link won't work.
But there is an option to turn off the app.
The black google now launcher does not work when the original gnl is updated to a recent version.
We could ask OP for an update.

Might as well turn it off then
BTW: a weak/bad connection can be a battery drain too if you have a weak signal, the modem then keeps searching indefinately for a good connection.

Greenify New Features

Oasisfeng the dev of greenify updated the app Introducing new feature specific to Android M.
Two in particular are -
Shallow Hibernation : Link
Aggressive Doze : Link
(Links are for info)
My question is that is that are these features fully compatible to this device.
As I'm using doze settings editor also. I'm afraid there'll be conflicts with these settings
Shallow Hibernation is kinda good cause I've been using it for a couple of hours and its better since no apps needs to be killed for hibernation so app startup time is quicker.
Doze Settings editor configs as from this thread : Extreme battery life by v7
Sure
Hello and thank you for using Q/A,
if your ROM supports Doze, you can enable aggressive Doze in Greenify. No conflicts.

No adaptive battery in RR rom and others..!!

I recently installed RR rom on my device and I find that adaptive battery is missing from battery section. this is causing too much battery drain in system coz adaptive battery helped a lot in stock. So can devlopers bring that in RR and other custom roms. @akshayakakat , please check your inbox I messaged you about it but I got no response from yours . Got a faith in you man
Wrong section mate

Is there any way without Pixel experience?

the battery manager comes by default in android 9, I guess all the roms based on 9 are integrated, you'll have to look for it better. In PE and HAVOC it is in settings / battery / battery manager

Yes it's there in my rom too. So the battery manager and adaptive battery is same. I don't think so. because battery manager stops apps which consume more battery but adaptive battery hibernates apps.which aren't being used frequently. It's more like greenify .

Battery Saving Tips Root / UnRooted

I just wanted to make a quick rundown of things I do to phones, even if they have a large battery.
- Go into app info, then battery, then enabled "Background Restriction" for apps that don't need to have fast notifications. I do this for apps like XDA, Feedly, Amazon etc. Given enough time Adaptive battery will do this for you, but I go in manually for any new apps or ones that I still might use frequently. (UnRooted)
- Download Naptime and enable aggressive doze. Also play around with the experimental features. I disabled location when Doze mode is enabled. (UnRooted)
- Download Servicely from the same dev. I disabled apps when my screen turns off and whitelist phone, messaging apps and other high importance apps. (Root)
- Use Tasker to automate Battery Saver Mode when your screen turns off and disable it when the screen comes back on. Naptime can also do this in the experimental settings, but I use Tasker to trigger it based on conditions like battery percentage, etc. (UnRooted)
- Install the Universal GMS Doze in Magisk. Combining this with Naptime really helps for standby. (Root)
- Install AdAway from F-Droid. This is a small thing, but less data use for pulling ads means better battery. It's a stretch, but the other benefits are no more ads! (Root)
This is what I've got done so far. Once custom kernels are released I'm going to use the Franco kernel app to make per app customizations to underclock the CPU and GPU for apps like Messages and other lite apps to really squeeze more battery.
With these optimizations I can easily make a full day. I haven't gotten a solid SOT number yet as I change in my car through Android Auto most days, but I really want to test a day completely off a charger to see what it's like.
Again, these are things I do on even large phones like the OnePlus 7 Pro and it's almost doubled my battery life on phones. Plus, these are set and forgot things and should only require a little bit of setup.
I hope this helps yall eek out some more battery out of our awesome devices! I can start to use the phone without worrying about battery anxiety.
Or you can just enable battery saving, and don't optimize apps you really need.
That's true, and I have it enable when the screens off. I'm not sure is restricting background use AND battery saver are doubling up and helping save more battery, but I want the option to have a light theme, so restricting battery for apps gives me that option

Rom advice for my requirements

Hi,
Could you guys please suggest a rom with following requirement:
1. Good looks but light footprint on cpu and ram
2. SOT above 5 hours atleast with performance slider at efficiency or balanced.
3. Good camera performance ( or if there is a separate camera app that i should use)
4. No bloatware(only hate miui bcoz of this)
4. I don't care about security patch version or android version.
personally used Revolution MIUI OS for Mi5 for a long time now. read it up here.
but if you are into AOSP based from for Mi5, try Pixel Experience from or Lineage OS. just search it up in this forum.
