[Q] weird battery drain and lags ( again, i know... )

ok so i know there have been tons of posts like this one but i can't seem to find any solution in any solutions already given... or maybe i just missed the right one for me.
Anyway , up until the last update i had no big issues . Then , they started when i was abroad and haven't left since .
I have a massive wakelock issue and i dont really know why .
I know my operator stated that they have implemented fastdormancy only on 3G UMTS 2100 Mhz and i run my phone on WCDMA\GSM . before the 244 update , i used to disable fast dormancy because it showed up in BBS . Now it doesn't anymore and i didn't delete my fastdormancy apk on the last fresh reinstall.
I also have a massive Android system & phone wakelock count wich i'm not sure where they come from.
I have greenified the usual apps ( maps , playstore , whatsapp , facebook etc ) , removed all the apps mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382712 because i don't use them either, and still i don't even manage 4 h on screen time...
Also , some animations lag or take a longer time than expected to open. I think there are some background processes but i can't seem to find any weird ones in my task manager.
I have disabled sync with my google account , logged out of facebook , disabled location services and all the crazy settings in maps, autosync is off...
I am running the latest monxdified 04-03-01 , installed after a fresh wipe via flashtool and a factory reset via recovery . Could this be the culprit ?
What the hell is going on in my phone ?

Software Update Insufficient Memory

I'm on OF3 update. S5 AT&T obviously. I just recently tired to update my software, and a message saying insufficent storage showed up. Which was logical, I didn't have much space. It said the update was something like 300MB. But after uninstalling a couple apps and deleting a $hit ton of photos, I now have 3GB. But the update won't start? The message still shows in the notifications, and I can't open it. I tried restarting and shutting off. Nothing. I know battery can sometimes be an issue, but I had 80%. So I need initiate the download.
You need to create 4 to 7 GB of free space on your phone. Others have been having the same issue.
Resolution
The issue may be related to available storage memory on the device. If clearing space does not resolve the issue, the device can be updated to the latest version of software at an AT&T DSC or Best Buy Samsung location.
To resolve the issue:
1) Clear Cached Data
Tap Settings > Storage > Cached data > Clear Cached data
Try downloading the software update again
2) Create at least 4 to 7 GB of free storage space
Tap Settings > System Tab > Storage > Available Space to check current storage usage
Delete Unnecessary files (such as Pictures/Video/Music Files)
3) Visit an AT&T Device Support Center or Best Buy location for help updating to the latest software

Ram used on Note 9 when use Adhell and not use Ahell

Hi everyone, i have a problem with "ram used" on Note 9 run android pie.
When i don't installer adhell, "ram used" on Note9 about 2,6G used
When i installer adhell and disable some unnecessary bloatware, i reboot the phone, "ram used" is 1,9G
But after 1 hour ram used is about 2,8G ~ 3,1G and dont decrease. Does anyone has a same problem like me?

lol jk
Ram keeps being used up but this time by apps you deem useful. Normal operating in any case.

It depends on a lot of things, firstly you should get a better overview of whats happening. Easy way is to unlock developer options--->services. Most likely the RAM is cached with things and not really used. Also worth mentioning as already told here - disabling "bloatware" on the recent samsung updates (from nougat up atleast) is actually hurting - both in battery and performance. Reason - services calling those disabled services, leading to a loops. Android 7 and up is really good to "put to sleep" not used apps/services. Let the OS do it's job instead of causing problems that are hard to track (you should check logs like the one from the kernel to spot those things, it will not show as UI errors + the phone is fast enough to not notice it that much in performance).

Question Need help - Bad Battery Experience

Hello,
I am suffering from bad battery experience when comparing my phone to my friend's 12 pro max.
I have done factory reset and only installed apps that I need ajd turned on apps background limits and still nothing better at all
My phone is updated to august patch
I am using qhd and 120hz
No battery saving
Naptime is enabled
I have removed uselss samsung apps like bixby, etc.
Most of features in advanced features are turned off expect double tab one. Spen is off
Kindly check my screenshots and tell me what should I do.
Disable Facebook services (not the app itself). Maybe use a different browser Try using power save mode.
Limit display to 60HZ. Disable any unneeded Samsung apps.
I get about 10 hours of SOT
Basically... Buy an S4
android system and kernel being that high up in the list might point to a wakelock. maybe your wearable is causing it (total guess) ?
disable all facebook stuff and try using it thru a browser for a couple of days too.

There is no point to limit the display to 60HZ because we paid much to enjoy the 120HZ. Also I did not see much battery difference when using 60 HZ
I will uninstall fb and use another browser to open facebook and see what will happen

Question My Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ performs really bad.

Hello, I just bought myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab s8+ a few days ago. I tested genshin impact on it and gets really underwhelming performance (high sub 30 fps with bad frame pacing, and low reaching only 40 fps)
I then try to test with 3dmark and I got this score on the screenshot below. Am I scammed or something? I bought this from official retailers. Any help would be appreaciated.

I'm using samsung galaxy tab s8+ which host snapdragon 8 gen 1 and Adreno 730 GPU. It's not listed in that link. And it should've performed better specwise.

Yes it should be better. i heard they under-clocked the tab cuz there'd no vertical room for a heat sink. maybe something with that ?

I think it's a problem with my unit specifically. I tried doing a 3dmark test with other demo unit in stores and it gets 8000+ scores. I'm not sure if my unit has problem hardware/software-wise
I WANT to believe it's because i still didn't flashed a newer firmware (it's on some from november 2021, 3 months before official release - it even got the s7 stock wallpapers), so it's driver related. But yeah, mine is lacking in horsepower also. It skipped some of the antutu's bench tests, while Geekbench gave it 1250 single core to 2400 multicore. Every single test i put it through (benchs, device validation etc) says it is an sm-x806, though.
One other thing is also the ram pool it has. Mine's only 6,9 available (1,2 reserved for something), android system using up to 5,5 all the time. So, actually i have less ram in it than in my s21 (up to 3gb), wich is on latest update available.
Does the app SD Maid help ? I am a minority user in that I am rooted and so I get the tricks of SD Maid Pro. Sadly, now I am a freezing maniac ! In GeekBench 5, I got a score of : 1223 and 3443. I am on Android 13 now.
( on Amazon, I got the 906N )
Another way to get the tablet to run better is to remove bloatware. Below is a list I came across on the web.
Of course, all praise go to the hard work the web page maker did... ( Helen ? )

I got about the same score from Antutu and Geekbench. Also has around 3-4 gigs of ram available at any given time with no apps running. My model is SM-X806B.
I've been thinking if it's driver related but I'm not sure what to do. Also thinking about Overclocking it but it's brand new and I don't want to get it rooted yet. It's really frustating how low the performance is set by Samsung. I was expecting some beast of a tablet but this sucks.

They listed pretty much all samsung apps in that link. I don't think all of them is "safe to remove bloatware". Got to be careful.

Just an update:
I finnaly grow a pair and did the update. Too expensive to be ****ing around. Glad my country is part of yhe OXM code, so it disnt break anything when i changed from EUX to ZTO, even though it remain as EUX.
Performance had a great jump. TAB rarely display stutters, even on power saving settings. Before then, it was choppy as f. Memory pool also has widen, as up to 4gb to use. Benchs, though realtime experience had significantly improve during tests, did not improve that much on numbers. Antutu gave me 650000, while geekbench gave 1210/2860, still below the average. Could be because I live in Brazil, and they must have concerns about temperature.
All of the errors I was dealing with also got resolved. No more red flashing borders when upside down, no more update errors, nomore sudden crash/glyphs when playing games.
No cooling solution whatsoever.
Thermal MOD (hardware) Galaxy TAB S8 Ultra
This might not be useful for many, but if anyone wondered why their TAB performs "bad" under heavy usage (gaming, benchmarks, etc...) S8 series (all of them) have almost next to none existent "cooling" solution. Here is the S8 Ultra for example...

Most of us will never fix it. Samsung F'd us BIG time? So return your SCAMSUNG TAB ASAP. I wish I can.
Never ever gonna buy Samsung again after this one.

I uninstalled game booster, game tools and game launcher and disabled game optimization services with adb Commands then turned ram plus off and disabled or put into deep sleep unwanted apps and it made a big difference in game play and battery life for my s8 11 inch.

Game booster, game launcher, game optimization services have to be uninstalled/disabled with adb Commands. From what I found you need uninstall game booster, game launcher and game tools with adb then disable game optimization services with adb then it will stay disabled even after reboot but try check just search game booster or game launcher in settings and if nothing pops up then it's uninstall or to can go to system apps and look for game optimization services and see if it says disabled.

To re-enable Samsung Game Services on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, you can follow these steps:
Open the Samsung Galaxy Store app on your Galaxy Tab S8.
Search for "Game Launcher" in the search bar.
Find and select "Game Launcher" from the search results.
If the Game Launcher app is already installed, tap on "Open" to launch it. If it is not installed, tap on "Install" to download and install it.
Once Game Launcher is open, tap on the three vertical dots (More options) in the top right corner of the screen.
From the drop-down menu, select "Settings".
In the Game Launcher settings, look for the option "Samsung Game Services" or "Enable Game Services" and toggle it to the "On" position.
If prompted, follow any additional on-screen instructions to complete the process.
I did a factory reset to re enable Game services and the game I play is playing better now. I'm running galaxy app booster 1-2 times a week and wiping cache partition and repair apps 1-2 times a month. I also am using thermal guardian set to max(slider all the way to the right) with all additional settings off. In game booster make sure auto manage performance is off and I'm using the labs setting for alternate game performance. In device settings I have all additional settings off and disabled or put to deep sleep stuff like Bixby, are doodle , etc. I also have ram plus off
