Can someone look and tell me what the default value is? I've changed mine around and don't remember. Thx!
...also, changing it does create issues with using Samsung Pay.

If you go back to the Samsung settings for changing the dpi (i.e. large, small etc) it will change it back to the default. So toggle to another setting and then back to what you were at originally.

I find the default 320 density value to be a bit too much.
Everything just shows up too big on the phone wasting a lot of screen real estate.
I switched mine to 240 (after rooting) and started you ADW launcher (as the Samsung one doesn't play nice with smaller density values).
I was wondering value do other people use?
I think that i will use less than 240.
Maybe sub-200. Some roms on the hd2 with 168 were awesome, now with more resolution and more screen, 320 and 240 will be much for my taste.
240 Density on this screen is like 180 density on the 800x480 screen.
uhm, I didn't know that.
Then, I will use about 240 or so, I'm with you, using so much density like the default it is pretty dumb.
I'll try on thursday
How can you guys change the density of the phone??
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
Will this just re-scale everything, or will it make operations less processor intensive?

First of all, you must have the phone rooted. After that you can use LCDDensity for Root (from Market) or edit \system\build.prop using root explorer or other equivalent software.
Clubttech - how did you manage to root it?

Thank you! But after changing the density, the apps which were not compatible with Note works fine?
Still didn't try to change the density myself (first have to find a window box to root the note). Therefore a little question: does the note app still work with a smaller density? I mean is it still possible to make notes without annoying scaling problems?
I've downloaded the app' but I'm stuck with the:
(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
Where do i get the adb drivers from please?

Just follow the steps untill the HTC bit (step 3) to install ADB on your Windows PC.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152148
This is from HTC Sensation page, very helpful for people doing it the 1st time.
Thanks very much mate. I'll give that a go.

I haven't found a stand alone Note driver pack, however installing the latest Kies from the Samsung site should give you the drivers you need.

Like the above post said, you might need Samsung driver, also make sure you run the Command Prompt as administrator.
Also do you have a folder called "platform-tools" inside C:\AndroidSDK?
My Note will not arrive untill later this week, so can't do the process myself. But the procedure works as I used it to push files to my Galaxy Tab using ADB.
Could you take some screen shots with different densities?

I tired to change the build.prop to have a different density, but the change is not sticking.
I change it to 240 and save the file , it shows saved but when i open the file it still shows 320.
I am rooted and using root explorer.
any suggestions ?

Thanks! Link works great in Opera on Android. In this version the random appearance of notes in the root while placed in a folder seems to have been fixed.
Note for users who want to update from the stock K4 note app: updating seems to wipe the note database, sync your notes first.
I am too having problem on different DPI, I am on 201 (or 200), the note background mess up like the previous post...
Finally took my dirty hands on SMemo.apk as I am using density 201 and it does not looks good with that crappy background.
What was done?
- copy /system/app/SMemo.apk to my desktop, make a backup.
- apktool d -f SMemo.apk
- edit the res in ./SMemo/res/drawable-xhdpi, since my current density is 200 compare to 320, which is 1.6x, I edited:
- setting_paper_0(*).png, which is the images for selecting backgrounds, I resize it to height from 720 > 960
- theme(*)_bg_bottom.png, theme(*)_bg_middle.png, theme(*)_bg_top.png, all I did was resize them to width to 1280 (should have done a better job redraw them instead of resize, but well, all I want is it to fill so well....lazy)
- apktool b SMemo
- Sign it with Sign+ (found in this great xda forum)
- remove /system/app/SMemo.apk
- copy mod. SMemo.apk to /system/app/SMemo.apk
Done done and enjoy.
http://www.mediafire.com/?feil3f9j3w0ha6i
Here is my build, you can use it as you like, please don't blame me if it crash, it works on mine, backup your own before use!
You can also mod your own with the above steps.
Enjoy!
Thanks utp

Make sure to backup your current system Ui. Apk.

Here. Is the original system ui files. Not a flashable zip. So unzip and replace the 2 files in system/privapp/systemui.

I'm getting offset carrier ID on the lockscreen with a different DPI
I have stock DPI and have the same issue. Probably has something to do with the fact the mod is for the N5 which has the DPI set to something else

Me too. Not a big deal. Maybe someone who knows more how this works could fix this for us. I'm still gonna rock it though.
For you guys who tried this, did you backup your original sysyem. Ui. I didn't and think it might of gotten rid of ambient display. If so can I have a copy.

I modded the nexus 6's systemui apk to center the clock, and make it gray. So far its working well enough. It looks a little weird on the lockscreen though, as it is not quite aligned with the other icons. Feel free to flash it and let me know how it goes. Backup your system first though.
I flashed it.. Nice work!
Hopefully we can see it removed from the lockscreen completely once the bugs are worked out.

Hi,
I have modified some files from sys\module\qpnp_fg\ and sys\module\qpnp_smbcharger\ to modify some power settings based on a guide, but I forgot to back up them. I would like to rollback, so if anyone can upload these two folders from Stock nougat ROM would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Anyone please copy the above folders and send it to me. Thanks
These are from the hardware itself (or mostly likely kernel / dts*),
so a reboot most probably should restore the values to default ones

Yes, at least for me afaik it was the case when I modified it in the past,
always was default after a reboot or turning off and start the phone from scratch.
Would be good to know though how your values differ from others
