This is what I'm getting on my two weeks young unit. It's only occurring on HD+ and WQHD+ resolutions, whereas the FHD+ remains unblemished.

You have to take a pic of it with another camera to show a screen defect. A screenshot will not show a defect like dead pixels, cracks and such.

Yes that dose look odd. If you have a screen protector on it could possibly be that but you will have to lift it to check. Or it could be the oleophobic coating on the screen wearing away. If it's that contact Samsung.

No screen protector. And definitely not the coating. It's image processing. Like I said, it disappears when I switch to FHD+ resolution. When I swipe up to open the lock screen or even the app drawer I can see frames shifting. I haven't tried all colors but it's remarkably noticeable on dark grey shades all the way to pitch black wallpapers (including Samsung default ones). I contacted Samsung and they are yet to reply.
Update
I tried this blue grey wallpaper and now it's all over the screen.

Yeah I get none of that. I ran screen test from the Play Store and tried different brightness and resolution settings. I would contact Samsung or where ever you purchased the phone.
OP should tell what he's using to test and show his issues.
He's only so far said this issue arises at a certain screen resolution.

What am I using to test!! I sat a solid color wallpaper/screen lock! That's all. Not much testing really! I believe the issue is eye-popping at this point. Needless to say.

I did. A couple of remarkable findings (I'm no expert though). 1. In the DPI Scaling test, X & Y didn't match at equal percentages (i.e. at 150% X read 777.77, while Y read 783.77). 2. In the Gamma test the grey scale in particular wasn't accurate at all (instead of matching at 2.2 it was more of 2.5 and 2.6). One final unrelated remark: the screen doesn't support wide colors gamut. I don't know if that is the norm with all Note 9 units.

Try a screen trainer (or whatever they're called) to see if it's stuck pixels before you return it. But yeah, I totally understand. I can't stand them once I've spotted them; it looks like you got a few of them too.

This isn't going in a dark room and turning up the brightness to look for light bleed; dead pixels really are an annoyance, especially when you've got four or five.
Dead pixels drive me crazy... I've always been anal about my screens. I would still try a screen fix app though before I would exchange.

I've counted five problem pixels on mine. You can only notice it on a black screen. They have a very tiny whiteness to them. I think I can live with it though.
I too have a few bright pixels. I also of a dark spot under the glass between the screen... guess I will be exchanging mine as well

Did you get it from the playstore? If not, Google will tell you to take it back to where you bought it from and get it exchanged there.
What can be seen cannot be unseen
I had mine delivered about 2 hours ago and right up until now I haven't noticed anything.
After seeing this thread I thought I'd check and whilst I only have one stuck pixel (white colour) and it's not in a particularly noticeable location, it's all I can see!
I guess I'll RMA it and I'm glad I can wait until the new one gets to me before sending this one away. Especially after the 3 week wait for it.
I was nervous this would happen with mine but my screen is pretty much fine. Had a little bit of the screen lift but I loosened all the screws and then tightened them and now it seems fine.

As you can see, this lucky guy managed to get and use the Nexus already. Discuss!
Probably a store manager who demo'ed it to some employees. There are additional apps, which shows at least a decent amount of time with the device. Perhaps someone carrying it around as a teaching tool?
I'm hoping it's there already though. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to go there (Heerhugowaard) and snoop around with some of the more knowledgeable-looking employees.

On my monitor it doesn't look that black, compared to the bezel. The Gnex in that sort of lighting would appear ink black.

I've heard this is the best screen for smartphones ever (on the optimus G, I guess its the same one..). So it should be amazing on blacks, whites, and everything in the middle. Oh, and super bright too!
Damn, it does indeed look like an AMOLED in terms of contrast!

Check out this table and see for yourself. It's definitely not capable of showing true black, but that was to be expected. The Nex4 does indeed sport the same screen as the [scratch Gnex, stupid me] Optimus G.
Edit: ^
Remember though, LCD screens will be blacker in light areas, but in a dark room it will show that off black we see, more like grey.
On the second photo, there's a folder named 'LG' on the homescreen. That's not bloatware is it??

There's not one setting that's going to work from one device to another. The panels are just too inconsistent in terms of their color reproduction, and this is no knock on JDI or the OPO, because ALL devices suffer from this in the real world. It's just a fact that there's no 100% reliable way to make the same levels come out of two different panels to the point where the same settings will produce the same effect. That's why professional calibration of displays isn't just based on plugging in some numbers and bam!
To do it right takes time to measure each display, and adjust all the peramiters for the individual characteristics of the panel. There is no one size fits all setting.

Trial and error is the only way (outside of professional calibration) to find what works. I just wanted to warn people not to blindly trust the settings, or to think that they'll work for them, because they don't work from unit to unit.

I got a moto X a week or so ago and have notice faint lines running mostly vertically but also horizontally in the display, mostly visible in solid grays and white. I did my research and know that this is an issue with the manufacturing process of this generation of AMOLED, but I'm wondering if this will be prevalent in every single moto x or if it's just that some are worse than others (worth an exchange?)? Coming from an HTC M8 on another carrier, the fact that these solid colors look so weird with the line running through them is very disappointing (otherwise I actually like the phone better). I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

I just filled my screen with white looking for these lines and couldn't find anything. Probably a defect. Contact Motorola.
Easiest ways see it is to download the LCD test app and display full screen gray. If you don't see it, then I definitely have an issue because it looks like a textured background rather than solid color.

Download Quickpic from the play store.. Always use Quickpic when setting wallpaper. Not only that, it's an excellent gallery app that I've been using since beta..
Btw, I'm just getting done with my first real battery test.. I'm blown away. I'll post screens soon.

Thank you as well..
It's unfortunate that you need a third party app such as Quick Pic, in order to take advantage of the full resolution this device has to offer. But wow.... that's the best wallpaper (Earth Orbit) I've seen, utilizing the beauty the amoled screen has to offer. Thank you again!

This might be the first device I haven't rooted since my Droid 2 . Lmao
Iphoney... did you end up rooting. I just did and it was painless. Have you found a way to get back lockscreen widgets? It's the one annoying thing I discovered being so used to them.
