Has anyone seen any difference in gaming/over all performance or battery life after the gpu turbo update? I can't really tell with performance because i didn't have pubg mobile before the update but i am actually getting some great battery life when playing games. Simple, light weight games would drain the battery but after the update, even playing pubg after 30 mins i went from approximately 95 to 87 which i was pretty impressed with seeing as how simple games would drain my battery (my settings in pubg are low quality with med fps and colorful).
Have you guys seen any differences? I would really like to know especially with the kirin 659.
Ive played Pubg before the ipdate and I can say that the GPU turbo update really helped with the "drop frames" the gameplay is much smoother now

Hi if you are using the Huawei P smart
Would you be able to backup your system img through twrp and upload it somewhere for me? Possibly google drive?
I have software available called EMUI Pixelized but since firmware finder is down I am unable to get a newer update from there to add in newer security patches

It's available in all regions though i live in Iran and i always have to turn on my vpn if i want to update my firmware. Maybe you should try seeing if it comes up with a vpn.
Do you have to turn on gpu turbo after the system update?
Anyone know if you need to enable gpu turbo or if it is just active after the update.

It's automatically turned on when you open a game. Though i do also turn on gaming mode in the game suite app.

Hello.
My T-Mobile G4 has had 6.0 Marshmallow since February. I've noticed since I've updated to Marshmallow that the performance is definitely worse than Lollipop, particularly in gaming. Games will seem to run fine for about 30 seconds or so, then the framerate just completely goes out of whack. These aren't little micro stutters, but jumpy, jittery, and wobbly graphics problems. I was able to run the FPS meter app to see what the games were running at. Sure enough, the game (I tested Hill Climb Racing with the fps app, but the issues exist in every game I've tried. 2D and 3D) would run at 59-60 fps for about 30 seconds, then when the jitters started, it went down to 51 fps according to the app.
Now, I've seen these same jittery scrolling issues on Dolphin Browser (other browsers too, but to a lesser degree), Gmail, QuickPic, YouTube, Google+, and even the freaking home screen. I've factory reset multiple times and ran the phone without installing any apps, tested the phone in safe mode, cleared the cache, removed the sd card, formatted the sd card, switched batteries, turned on airplane mode, toggled game optimizer, toggled some developer options, and even went through 3 different warranty exchanges (two manufactured in May 2015 and my current one from July 2015). The ONLY THING that seems to help is time. The longer I have the phone on (maybe about 5 days to a week), the better chance the phone has of smoothing out. I kept the phone on for 35 days straight recently because I knew it would get sluggish again if I restarted and I was right. I unfortunately had to restart due to a WiFi issue.
The main reason I'm posting here is because I haven't gotten an answer anywhere else. Apparently, either everyone else has a G4 that actually performs just fine on Marshmallow or they just don't seem to notice (not sure how they couldn't, considering how obvious the graphics problems are).
Is it a kernel/governor issue? Perhaps there's a developer that can tell me what's going on with the phone?

Are all MM phones having performance problems in some way? I've heard that phones like the Nexus 6P have pretty much flawless performance. I've heard that the Oneplus 3 is like butter too.
Is MM just crippling older SOC's like the 808?

I live in hot city in india. I have been experiencing alot of heat lately in back where CPU is located. It's always 40c battery as well as CPU both stays on 40c. Please let me know if there is some tweak to reduce heat. I dont do much gaming. I use it for chatting and watching videos mostly surfing YT or surfing internet. it makes me paranoid whenever it gets heat up i m always forced to keep it aside till it gets cool down. I am requesting to any developers here to make a tweak or make a kernel for users like me as it will be soo helpful for many people who dont like to feel heat while surfing on net. Please do look into it.
Also do tell me if there is a good rom. I dont care about latest android version or latest security patch all i want is i should be able to chat or surf without feeling that heat in my hand because it just ruins everything for me.
I am using official LOS 15.1 and am satisfied with it from a heat perspective.
The only time I maybe encounter unusual heating is when the NSA is hacking my phone to spy on me. *joke* What I then usually do is just to shut down my phone and leave it off for a couple of minutes.
You should look to update your firmware to the latest available Global version.
It is otherwise a good idea to reinstall your phone. You never know if you picked up some malware through dodgy apps that is causing the problem or if some apps are just rubbish.
I Use Xiaomi EU
No issues of heating except if you Play games.

Hey. Peeps! Thanks for kind response. I read all your suggestions! I m using Lineage OS latest official build. I dont do gaming its battery efficient also it has quick charge support, on ampere app readings says 1800ma. I m thinking of using MIUI now, i have used EU rom and trust me Lineage OS is better in terms of battery backup. Crdroid, umm, thanks @mcjohn, i will try this.

Btw, dont ever use miui official rom. It sucks the battery so quickly. -_- I m currently on stable miui global rom and trust me it has worst battery backup.

Or, maybe 2-3 ROMs per week !

Yes. Sorry! Good lock asked to re run it's optimizer. So far feels fine.
Actually I commented on the update for this version, as I prior had the note 20 ultra HK version (snapdragon dual sim) and it was notorious for not getting updated. Like ever. Was most frustrating. Glad to see the ultra does get the updates.

Yes is AUB7
because the SoC is completely different,Can't be compared
The kernel version number is still 20700993. It should be that the Exynos model has relatively large room for improvement and optimization. The Snapdragon model has limited room for improvement and optimization, but the initial performance is more stable than the Exynos model.
This is my long-term experience using two SoC versions of Samsung S series and Note series
However, the Exynos model encountered major problems. The optimization efficiency is improved and the speed of pushing updates will be faster than the Snapdragon model (except for the S20 / Note20 series of the Korean Snapdragon version)

I'm just curious as to what people who keep having bad battery life have running/installed in their phones. It very well could be an app problem, but I suppose that it could also just be a Exynos related problem - I just haven't seen any deeper detailed explanations of the problem.
Would you mind telling me a bit more so that I can get a full understanding of this battery usage issue? I have the SD888 version and this phone has the best battery of any device that I've ever had prior... Fill me in if you can. Thanks!

i just did a full reset for my phone, coz i heard that using smartwatch does affect the battery. i just will try anything for the moment.
ok so, the phone for me is super, i do not care about benchs or whatever, it does wat i ask and more except for battery it is draining fast. i get 5SOT when lucky, i have 5g on, 120hz, fhd, Bluetooth, sync, auto rotate, basically everything not gonna lie.
but i think anyone do the same, i have duel sims both on, i never connect to WiFi coz im always out.
am i being a whiner ? or should i get more than that?
i had an s20fe before and i think it used to last more.
the thing is i see battery draining once i use the device, like i see it lol
no heating tho or any other issues, i have package disabler on so anything useless i kill it asap.
wdyt?

Thanks for responding! Hmm, interesting. I can usually hit 5 hours SOT with 120hz and 1440P enabled, however, that only brings me to around 40-50% battery.
Maybe it's got something to do with that package disabler app. I don't have any potentially continuous background apps running on my phone and I also use Samsung's built-in battery options (sleep mode and deep sleep mode) for apps that I don't need/receive notifications from. Aside from that, the only other thing that I've done was remove almost all of the stock, built-in Samsung apps over ADB as I happen to use all Google apps (and doing so over ADB is the only reliable way to do so on Samsung devices).
Perhaps one or all of those things are what is helping me out - so give em' a try if you'd like to. But let me know how the phone reset works on your battery life! I hope that you can get it sorted out!

Hmmm , interesting .
I use package disabler coz it serves as the ADB method but this doesn't require a PC.
Might try that one as well.
So you only removed the srock apps, nothing out of ordinary?
Coz some lists asks to move too much which becomes weird.
Did the fresh install, awaiting a full charge to complete and will give it a test run.
Thank you mate, will update for sure.
Most of the battery drain for me is associated with the crazy google play services. I can't figure out why this service is draining on average 3.5% per day! I have tried every trick in the book but nothing seems to work

Hmm, interesting. I guess the package disabler app should work then. But yeah, I've only removed stock, Samsung apps that I could directly replace with Google apps (things like phone, messages, calendar, calculator, etc) - so nothing out of the ordinary. It just stinks that Samsung made it so that the user cannot disable those untouched apps in the settings like they can on most other phones... Regardless, I'm still hoping that your reset does the trick! But with that said, just remember to give the phone a few full charge uses prior to giving it a battery duration test (as it usually takes like 3-4 full battery uses for this phone to adapt to your usage).

I can only speak from *my* experience but running 5G/LTE almost continuously as opposed to Wifi would probably drop my battery life by at least 33-40%. This is from my experience with my Note 9 when travelling overseas and not having access to wifi. With my S21 ultra, since having it I have 80% of the time been on wifi.
Hello everyone,
I've upgraded from OnePlus 7 pro to Mi 11 ultra thinking about it's great specs but even with SD888 i can sense a lag in the game, it's unable to handle Pubg, game lags,
I've tried from smooth to UHD with extreme refresh rate, in OnePlus 7 pro with SD855 i was able to play HD with extreme refresh with no problem.
Anyone knows how to fix it? What is your review on gaming?

My experience in gaming Mobile legends is amazing, I keep going with UHD max graphics and performance and my device handle to beat at least 94% of others, imagine if I drop refresh rate and graphics a little bit.
a quick question, how many games and hours you played on pubg with the device?
for me, the first 2 times I played mobile legends the phone was overheating and device was lagging little bit. but after that, battery is way better, never over heats, and amazing performance. so basically, it is just learning the device power consumption.
in summary, be patient and it will be way better in a day or 2.
may I ask which rom version you doing? hope not .Eu!!
forgot to mention, everytime I factory reset device I face same issue. so it is a thing that you should not worry about. just machine learning.

If it was Eu, then all I said above does not apply to him. As the experience I shared was of stock rom. And I had bad experience with EU rom specially gaming and ram management. I totally agree with you that it never lags and sooooooo smooth, but other things are also important.

Hello all,
As some of you already mentioned in some other threads, since the middle of ColorOS 12 updates the 3D gaming performance took a big hit. At least one my phone. So I waited for ColorsOS 13 update to see if it brings any changes. To my surprise the 3D performance got even more worse. For example in Diablo Immortal on lowest settings I get 10-30 FPS max. Are others experiencing the same? Or could it be that my phone is some sort of broken?
Surprisingly I got "normal" results in 3dmark and antutu. So I really dont know what could cause this.
I appreciate any contribution or feedback to this topic.
Thanks in advance!

I hate it. How can games lag on such powerful hardware. But those games that use the Vulkan engine work well, I can play PUBG New State 90 fps without frame drops and if I turn on OpenGL I get 30 fps on the minimum graphics. Call of Duty, which also works on Vulcan, also runs without problems. Diablo works on OpenGL without the ability to change to Vulcan, this is the problem.
OK so at least you have someway identified the problem. Are there no options out there to modify oder alternate the way OpenGL is used?
The problem is that we dont have the ability to downgrade and see if problems persist.
It's really a shame that after almost 2 years we still dont have the ability to unlock bootloader nor root the device.
