Have you tried the "getprop ro.treble.enabled" command in the terminal ? If no, could you please confirm whether the value was "true" or "false".

I used treble check app & it says there is support for treble but no A/B partition so no seamless updates.

I'm a little confused. How come it supports Treble if it doesn't have a separate 'vendor partition' which is supposed to bring seamless updates?

He didn't say that! The phone does indeed have a vendor partition, it just doesn't have the A/B scheme (that's what he said at least).

When I do a hard reset, will project treble stay intact? I'd do a hard reset to get rid of the installed bloatware before I setup the phone.

Okay, got my device today, did a factory reset before starting. All worked fine. Yes, for sure Project Treble support, but only A-Partition. But after the reset and setup all that Bloatware was there again. Well, not to nice, but you can uninstall some of them. The device is really nice and you really get a lot of SP for the money. So, now wait for the first updates to come

Enhancement for VoLTE an VoWiFi and Security Patch for February 2018. Size: 314 MB.
Didn't install on the first time, but second time it all worked fine.

Thanks, just tried using VPN via Germany, but still got nothing. I have 3 huawei/honor devices and none of them have ever worked via the phone updater, always have to use FF. On the H9L however not even the stock firmware is available yet let alone any updates. Thanks for replying anyway.:good:

Yes, the Stock Firmware is not available yet. Hope it is coming soon. Want to try this LOS thing, I don't like the EMUI too much.
I bought my H9L on 06.02.2018 from Amazon.de, well and yesterday the update appeared. One month after purchasing. Don't know if this is important...

why not just install LOS ? the one for honor view 10 works without problems. running it for over a week now without issues. there cant go much wrong. i didnt backup stock before it either.

The reason i haven't done that, as i explained in the other thread, is because i need android pay, or Google pay as it's called now. I know i can pass Safetynet with some fiddling with magdisk, but as you know magdisk vs Google is a cat and mouse story, Google closes one hole resulting with magdisk failing safetynet, then magdisk updates and safetynet passes again, then Google closes that hole and so on and on. Android pay is too important for me to have to keep doing that. Without magdisk as soon as BL is unlocked, which is required for LOS, safetynet fails. If GPay wasn't so important to me i would have loaded LOS , or phh AOSP, some time ago as EMUI is just bloatware in my opinion. Why OEMs, and it's not just Honor, think their skins are better than stock is strange. If they truly believe their skin is that great then make it an apk and let users decide, don't force it down people's throat and then not even give them the option to disable it...rant over..

It seems Android P beta is available for selective models of Nokia 7 Plus.

It'll wipe your data, and it's installing for me right now. I'm thinking about uploading the update here but I'm unsure if it will work for others too. (as-in if it's signed for devices based on their IMEI's)

That's bad but nonetheless, a good news. Uploading the update here won't do anything as the device has to be enrolled into the beta programme and IMEI gets bound with the update. So, that Nokia knows which phones are on beta programme.
Do share your first Impressions after the update gets installed.

I guess the rollback will work just the way beta programme works. You will have to unregister your device and an OTA would be sent to your device to get you back to stable software.

Cool! I was not happy with the wiping stuff so I didn't end up flashing it but I'll wait until more people confirm it actually works without wiping.

E: You can restore the normal navbar in the stock launcher settings (long press on empty space in home screen and press on home settings)

Nokia mentions this on their website that this update can't be provided in some regions on some carriers.

after the update, my icons were removed the brightness is so high i set it on 25%its working good there is no always on display.

Did anyone notice the roll back build update zip? It was v2.13b 8.1.

Switching language gave me a reboot (dutch to english). After that i automatically entered recovery mode. There the phone told me to factory reset because it could not boot or retry booting again.
Retry did the job. (Thankfully..)

It does. BUT you can go B147 to B146. However, we don't know yet what the next build will have. If it's 02, like this one, it will be safe. If it's 01 you will brick...

You won't be able to if you don't use TWRP or NoCheck recovery.

Yup, and they just fixed the SBC distortion like a couple of updates ago....
I really thought they would have the courage to launch the Freebuds supporting AAC without implementing AAC support on EMUI :/

I thought GPU Turbo would come with 8.1? Hope they don't skip it in europe, cause the ai improvements in the new camera are nice to have!

The only case I wouldn't mind skipping is if they release Android p this year for mate 10/pro ...
I think 8.1 is coming, just not now. They only promised GPU turbo in July/August, not 8.1. it's just the Chinese Ron that included GPU turbo and 8.1 in one update that made everyone think it will arrive together. But who knows.

Flashed this on my ALP-L09 without rebrand:
1-Firmware (all partisions inupdate.zip) from ALP-Al00B152 (which support GPU Turbo) flashed with Hrupdater
2-System.img from Bla-l29c432b146 (from OP)
3-Cust and Version from Bla-l29c432b146 (flashed with Hrupdater), this might not be needed but flashed it just in case because the game suite app is in the update_all_hw.zip, so I falsed it and renamed some folders in version partition from Bla-l09 to Alp-l09 and in /data/hw-init.
Conclusions:
I tested Asphalt 9 with Gamesuite enabled and I can see that the game is smoother (way smoother, In QHD resolution and game settings set to High quality, Loading times also shorter) compared to when I tested It on the Latest approved stock for ALP-L09.
need more testing but the phone runs smoother.... perhaps its just because its a fresh installaltion.
Please, don´t try to do this if you don´t know what you're doing.

No, this is just 8.0, they will release 8.1 later on. They did the same for the Chinese models, firstly they released 8.0 with gpu T and then 8.1...
Regarding the gpu Turbo, if it works as they explained in all those articles in several websites, it should work with every single game and every single app the makes a heavy usage of the GPU as they basically reworked the graphics framework and drivers to get the improvements, it's not something that only depends on wether the game is supported. I guess they say it's only supported officially by some games because they adapted them to fully seize the gpu turbo boost but even so, any other game should experience some boost. At least they should if they gpu turbo works as they explained in the articles, otherwise, this is just marketing bul**** from huawei...
Something interesting I found out was that the Gamesuite app didn't let me add any of the benchmark apps(antutu, 3d mark...) but it let me add any other app like WhatsApp, twitter... I find this really interesting, why do the block the benchmark apps?
I don't think it was placebo with asphalt 9, this game is new and I've been playing it for the last month on the non gpu turbo ROM and I jused to experience some frame drops and stuttering on some tracks.
With this b146, those stutters are gone, also the divice heat is lower.
So, if these improvements I felt are just because the rom is more optimised, then the gpu turbo is fake, at least according to the up to 60% of performance improvement they claimed to achieve.
Will see if they give more explanations on why only some games support this when, according to their explanation on how gpu turbo works, every game should be supported.

I installed it to BLA-L29 C432, but this firmware have Xloader 02 and you cant downgrade. And we dont know if it´s a beta or not, so its possible that you cant upgadre via oficial OTA. Be careful.
If you want install it, make it with HWOTA8.

I beg to differ because P Smart belongs to the Android Enterprise Recommended program and as such it is guaranteed to receive AT LEAST one version upgrade, as well as security updates every 90 days (top). So, I think we'll just have to be patient

am on lx1 and i have gesture navigation. updated with HRU updater

With my experience, with the gestures update, Themes doesn't 100% work, settings doesn't theme anymore, navigation bar doesn't theme anymore, the icons in the notification settings don't change, only icons and wallpaper changes in that update, not sure if Huawei has updated their theme engine and themes have to be re-done or if it is something Huawei has accidentally broken

Yep got it yesterday but the only thing that has changed was the interface I was expecting the cinematic pas and portait nightsight but non of that came with the 8.1update

Yep, got it too finally, it's like you say it. I dont think we will get all the updates that newer models take, A) because of processing power maybe B) because google must sell more newer phones, so if it gives you everything on the older model, you won't buy a new one so soon.
I wish i had the 2 highlight/shadow sliders, would be very handy...
