Hi everyone,
Ok so now I'm rooted and have TWRP, now I want to increase the headphone volume. I know how to do it on Samsung phones (audio_mixer.xml) however this file doesn't exist on the Sony XZ2.
Anyone have any ideas if and how it can be done?
Thanks in advance ?
Did you allowed to reach a ear damaging volume level?
If I allow that, my ears are exploding, because it is so loud.

I only take the gain to just before distortion, I use skullcandy headphones which handle alot. I also have tinitus so I need to up the volume (too much loud metal in my youth lol)
You can always turn it down, if it's too loud... apparently it's something to do with European law, headphone volume is limited to avoid ear damage...too late for me ?

Hi guyz, Now am planning to buy a good over the ear headphone for my note. I have finalized the Grado SR80i. Has anybody else tried it with the note ? Or any recommendations other than this?
Have the Grado SR80i and I've been using it together with the Note for over 3 months now. Sounds great! Prior to the Note I had a Iphone 3GS and I can't hear any noticeable differences. The Grado SR80i is a great headphone.
Grado
Have used Grado SR60 since i bought Note. Sounds good. But Voodoo Louder is must have.

Why is Voodoo louder a must have?
If your hearing is really bad you might need it to max the volume.

I never listen to my Grado on max (standard) volume. When I'm at home it's nice and quiet so the volume doesn't have to be that high. When I'm on the train or the bus the volume doesn't go high either because of the open design other people will hear your headphones very clearly. And I don't want to be an A-hole so I turn the volume down a bit.

Because it makes sound not only louder, but also better. So it seems to me. Comparing with and without it is showing difference on same volume level.

Didn't thought about it that way. But maybe because it really amps your signal more it's able to drive your headphones better. Might be giving it a try, thanks matikl
sennheiser mm550
Sennheiser mm550 is a good headphone, been using it, pretty good noise cancelling, and audio is crystal clear.
if you can get poweramp, it is a good app to enjoy music, play around with the eq to hit the best possible sound
Hi,
i'm using my new xperia z1 with these headphones http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDREX58V...F8&qid=1386837991&sr=1-8&keywords=sony+mdr-ex
and the sound is clear, but outside i can barely hear any bass. I'm not sure if my earbuds are too small or the phone has issues. Comfortable volume is 50% which seems too much for such little volume.
Also sometimes when i use headphones with Music Unlimited and Walkman i get some weird buzzing, it sounds like electrical current, its more of a crackle than a buzz. usually if i slightly unplug the headphones it stops or if i restart the music app a couple of times.
Once again, i'm very OCD and this is pissing me off. Maybe some of you have some ideas.
Thanks.
Try using poweramp app.

Let me help you understand, Mr. Aggressive. In Denmark, with telenor you don't get headphones in the box. Because these things are region and carrier specific.

Sorry Mrs. Delicate, where I was Aggressive? You should go and ask or buy the original Headphones for the Z1, the same Headphones which come with Z1 in the box. If you buy that Headphones you will solve all the problems, even if you use some kind of App you will never reach the good sound.
And you will thank me a lot.

Actually if you read around people complain about the same issues with the box headphones. Also, if you keep digging you will see that officially they only support maybe 6 Sony headphones. So i'm sorry to say it won't solve all my problems. Not to mention that those headphones are average at best. They are not god-mode audio, not by a long shot. Thanks for your condescending replies, but unfortunately it won't help me. Next time try giving a competent reply or just not replying.
Close thread. I've figured all this out 10 minutes after opening this thread and I know what I need to do.

Are you sure?
Is the volume of the ear speaker of the sony xperia z's very low or very loud?
Am i able to adjust it from software in the phone or not?
I want the ear speaker to have a good quality sound like the iphone 5s or 4 does and it should be loud for me to hear the sound of the person i am in a call with and the sound should never scatter. it should be between me and the person i am having the call with.
Do you think that the Xperia z is capable of doing that or would you suggest the iphone 4 instead.

Hello, thanks for the reply.
You know what, i have to explain what specific feature i am refering to. Im not talking about the earphones for listening to music. You know not the ones that plug into the ear phone round jack. Not those ones.
Im talking about the ear speaker for listening to somebodies voice when they call you or when you are talking to them over the phone. Also not the speaker for hearing music.
Dont you know what the phone speaker is? Thats the speaker located at the very top of the phone used to hear the persons voice whom you are talking to over the phone. NOT the loud speaker or the earphone.
Thanks.

Yes. Its loud During Calls. If we r in a silent place means others can hear the caller's voice..
and no idea about the second one

hey what do you mean no idea of the second one? I am talking about the speaker at the top front of the phone near and above the front facing camera . You know the one located at the very top on the phone at the front. It is about 1-2CM in side. Im not talking about the side one.
Again please make sure your not refering to the loud speaker were i can play an mp3 file from or a multimedia sound file from.
thanks bro..........

Lol... First You try to read his answer clearly. He mentioned second One means the question you asked at the second line. About the speaker volume when put in water.. got it ? he telling that he dont have any idea about your second question....
Edit:
I tried your second question. i put my Z in a pool and i got a incoming call. i can hear the caller's voice clearly . still its enough louds..
I have both headsets and all buttons just work with G4.
In addition, Samsung headsets with volume control just work 100%.
I was on the fence about whether I should get the Galaxy version of the SoundSports. Thanks for confirming this for me!

they do work fine but..... i really hate them the bass is huh, the sound isolation is really bad( sound gets in and sound gets out....) i feel really sorry on spending that much money on those.
but if your wish is to sit in your room or other silent environment without people ,the sound quallity is really good and clear and well balanced even a bit too much balanced.
Thanks for your input but I actually enjoy the lack of noise isolation on these Bose headsets! It's a great disclaimer for those who haven't had any experience with them though.
If you're still interested in spending $150, the new SoundTrue Ultras have new ear buds with noise isolation.

This is a minus, but I still have to pay attention outside when I am on the street for safety.
Usually I play in low volume at home, so sound leak isn't an issue.

well if you dont travel alot and dont need to fight the noise of the train/bus or a treadmill the sound isolation is not such a big deal...
If you work in a group and your group members do not want silence then the sound leakage is no big deal .. but you might as well use the speakers ...
Although ... it is clear that there is a positive side to it .. If someone approaches you on the train or bus you pay attention.
If you are on your team with headphones and someone calls you, you will hear him.
I seem to have broken one of my loud speakers on my z1 resulting in a very tinny/quiet phone.
Is there some mod I can flash to make my remaining speaker much louder? I'm running mx8.0 and lollipop 5.1.1
Cheers
There is only one speaker, the grill next to the speaker is the microphone.
Sorry that didn't answer your question though.
i would also love to know how, seeing how sony blocked/changed the file that use to allow us to volume mod in 5.5.1+
i have heard rumors of doing something physically to the speaker internally at the trade off of loosing waterproofing. bit i dont hear much on that anymore

I've already lost the waterproofing due to cracking and replacing the back, so I'm just gonna replace the speaker
downgrade to an official lower than lollipop rom, then turn on xloud. And yes, f*ck sony for removing it in lollipop, like our speaker isn't sh*tty enough...
