Hi
I have a OnePlus 3T stuck on 50% battery it doesn't go up or down, I tried letting the battery drain and then restarting, but it still displays 50% even after factory reset.
Is this a problem that can be resolved? I am not sure what else to try, I tried battery re-calibration apps and charging the phone a few times etc. but it did not work.
Hope you can help.
Thanks
Infinite Battery life? COOL!
Or did you mean the Indicator is stuck on 50% even when the Battery itself runs out and dies? If that, i can see it being an issue. We should start with the basics. What ROM? Bootloader state? Recovery? Kernel? Firmware? Mods? Length of time since last clean install. etc.
A Factory Reset seems like a good first step for now.
Haha, yes the indicator is stuck on 50%.
If I let it run out then recharge fully as they say to do to recalibrate, then even doing this overnight, it is still (apparently) charging in the morning - so I turn it on and it is still the same thing stuck on 50% and not recalibrated (if calibration is indeed the problem).
I moved to Lineage OS 15.1 (OFFICIAL) using latest TWRP recovery. Bootloader is unlocked.
It is now back on stock (latest build downloaded from oneplus) after full wipe of data/cache/dalvik, with stock recovery (bootloader still unlocked). The problem remains.
So as you can see a factory reset did not work I am afraid.

When it's been on charge long enough that it should have fully charged, it's still showing 50%, right? If you use it long enough to discharge completely, are you getting half the Battery life? (This is the difference between the indicator being faulty and the Battery being faulty).
If the indicator is correct and the Battery is refusing to charge beyond 50%, that's your Battery about to die. Send it to Oneplus for a replacement.
Thanks, yes if I leave it on overnight or otherwise more than enough for a full charge, it shows 50%. It is difficult for me to say if it lasts a full charge as I only just purchased the phone, so I have nothing to compare to.
However, the indicator does not slowly increase to 50%. I can fully discharge the phone until it turns off, and whilst doing so the indicator stays at 50%. I then go to charge the phone whilst turned off, and it doesn't matter how long I charge it for, almost always I turn it on and it is stuck at 50% (very rarely it looks like it's working, it starts lower and the level even seems to increase a few percentage points, going to say 15%, then it stops and I wait a while until it is clear it is not going to change, and eventually restart the phone, turn it back on and it's the same old deal, stuck at 50% no matter what).
I am not sure if this is very helpful, it's difficult to describe, I guess the bottom line is, no matter how long or little I charge it, almost always I turn it on and it is stuck at 50%, which made me think it was some sort of indicator problem, but I am not sure. I guess I should try and send it back as there's clearly a problem and I have tried reasonable steps to resolve.
Probably battery is fried
Damn, that's a shame, if that's the case I guess I should send it back then (although I can see the seller disputing it, I've barely used the device and it doesn't seem to be resolvable so I don't have a choice really).
I suppose I will rebuy OnePlus 3T unless there is an alternative, wasn't happy with recording quality which is a shame as I like to record guitar/singing, but everything else seemed great - I guess a new Xiaomi is another option as no trouble with battery, but I hear recording quality not so good.

I'm sure the seller was perfectly aware of this defect when they sold it. If the phone is in good condition otherwise, and if you got a good deal on it, you might consider getting Oneplus to service it. It's a gamble but it's still a great phone and a new Battery would give you at least two more good years with it. I'm sure we'll still be getting custom ROM support that long too.
Any other 3T you buy used now could face a similar issue any time soon and then you'd be in the same boat.
If it still has a warranty, then it's easily solved through official service.
If not, then if u bought it from a private seller, than good luck with convincing him about the problem

You need to have it serviced. I had that issue shortly after I purchased my 3T. I had tried all sorts of apps to see if it was charging and they all said it was, just not dash charging. Everything showed 50%, every app, any ROM, recovery, everything. Also, if I remember right, the battery wasn't exactly charging while plugged up, it just wasn't drawing juice from the battery. I know they replaced the motherboard but I can't tell you how much that would cost as it was under warranty.
if you are on OOS try *#808* check battery charging .if you get -40C its a problem with the motherboard

I had this issue just recently. See if the message "battery temperature is too low" appears when you try to charge when the phone is off. If yes you either have a broke battery or motherboard.
I had to get a replacement motherboard and battery to get my issue fixed.

For oxy? On custom roms used holy kernel
There are 3 possible solutions for this issue.
1: replace battery.
2: change the ROM for one that changes the Kernel for a version without this temperature protection.
3: fix or replace the main board.
To fix the main board you need to check 2 things on it.
On the left side of the battery connector (under a double sided glue tape foam), there are some SMD. The lowest two are related with this problem. I fix my board resoldering the one on the right (nearest to the connector). Be aware that the SMD is small and when are desoldered, it gets sticked on the double sided glue tape foam. I took a picture of it, but i don't know how to insert here.
If someone is reading this thread today and wants to know the solution,
This problem occurs when battery wire is connected loosely to motherboard or that connector has gone bad.
It has nothing to do with ROMs, kernel etc non-sense.
It's true, had the same problem after switching the battery of my OnePlus3T.
After reopening the device and reattaching the cable by CAREFULLY using more pressure and using a bit duct tape to fixate everything, it worked just fine.
Charging now works as it's supposed to and I'm again able to see the actual charge level.
Thanks lockhrt999!

Hello, I first wish to say that I did a basic search and didnt find any info. maybe I searched wrong since this is first time this has happend to a phone I know of.
second I don't have time to do a full extensive search, sorry if it looks like I didnt search but I did.
Anyways here to the problem:
What happend? Well the Note just died. from simple usage. the screen is all black, won't boot at all, can't even see any lights. (Got Desire HD, Tho I don't remember this phone had a charging/signal light, but I believe it has)
The Note is my mothers so she wanted me to look at it.
There were no problems during flash or, rather it wasnt me who flashed it. but got it pre-flashed of tradera (part of ebay) and nothing was wrong besides old rom, was waiting for full drivers ICS since I havn't seen one for the N7000 so I havn't flashed a ICS rom since my mother needs the most support but anyway
I tried taking the battery of and putting it back again (Fixes 90% of my problems!), I tried fail-safe booting it. I am kinda stumped on what to do, so if know whats the problem and if its a cheap one I will be happy to do it. hopefully its not a motherboard replacement... :-( then I will cry...
Edit:
It turns out it started working with 25% battery after being having battery taken out for 1 hour, and was in the wall socketed charger for 7 hours. YAY!
So it just died in middle of using it normally?
You didn't do any wipes or such in recovery and then it didn't start after that?

I am not sure there is enough detail here to be able to help. But if it does not go to download mode with the usual ways or with a USB jig, then it will need to go to samsung repair centre, or you could try to JTAG first.
But if it is a result of a bad bootloader flash, then JTAG might work. If its due to a bad ICS kernel flash, then motherboard replacement is most likely.
Hope it works out.
First of All, it doesn't have ICS yet. (since i havnt found a good kies ICS yet that everything works on yet, havnt checked the past few weeks)
Second, it died in standby mode, during work when she was gonna take a picture for her work (she has card that allows usage of camera during work place in volvo)
Third, it wasnt during flash or anything. I will have to check the phone with shidapu when he wakes up... ARGH HIM! for not having normal mornings where you wake up around 6 or 7am...
I believe it didn't die during middle of usage but when the phone was in power save or whatever its called when the screen is black and not phone in use but in operations
I guess JTAG is the only option, but how does that work exactly, if possible please do link
because my computer can't even see the note when I am connected to it with USB. can the battery died? since I don't know if the note can be powered up without battery. *tried connecting without battery but no luck :/
Try to remove the battery for a couple of minutes and then insert it again and connect the wall socket charger and wait up to one hour. The Note has a charging animation but if the battery is totally drained i think it won't show directly.
If you having troubles finding another battery to test with you can always come by Astra in Mölndal and try mine as i see that you are living in Gothenburg.
Jtag is a service in that someone solders small cables to the mainboard and reflashes the bootloader on a low level. But this is only if you know that you have failed a flash or such, don't think this is the case here.
I did send a SGS2 to mobiletechvideos in Texas for that service, and i really do recommend them and thier great service.
Good luck.

sadly don't have have a extra battery I believe, but I do what you said, I will pull the battery off for now, and when I see the phone next time I will put it in and wait a hour. if all above fail, I might P.M. you that i might be visiting you =)
edit, connected to a wall socket, does it make any differs if I use my HTC wall socket charger?
umm..mind if i say something....?
well u can use any charger since u need to give charge to the battery.. but recommended is charger for note.
Next i had a problem with my battery as well. try to put the phone on charging (there ain't any charging light on this phone ) but you'll see an animation of battery. if it shows up don't worry your phones safe but not the battery but if it doesn't then i think there's some problem with the bootloader or the kernal ...
Hiya guys, after having the Note on charger for like who knows 7 hours or so...
I actually could boot it! YAY! got into the droid as usual.
But there is one wrong thing... it says 25% battery left. orange...
now it says 26% =)
Well I guess I have to reset the state of the battery? (battery-memory wipe or whatever its called?) if thats possible, if so is just simple CWM? (does Note even use CWM?, I am a HTC user and it wasnt me who rooted that device as I mentioned earlier so I dunno what recovery software there is for samsung)
Well Anyways, might be just some faulty battery. guess I have to order a new one if it does it again.
maybe u should take the battery off the phone for a while and try to charge it without booting the device . maybe then it will work fine. just do it three or four times whenever you charge your battery. this way the battery will charge efficiently without it's use on the phone... i hope you got it since i am not able to type well today as i am right now a lil bit anxious about my notes problem

I believe i mentioned it started working. Charging it after removed battery for a hour or so fixed it. took a long time tho, 7 hours for 25% full battery. (26% short after, well samsung are known for their extreme long battery load times... galaxy tab 10.1... that was a device that took over 2 hours to charge...)
It might need a new battery.
The same thing happened to my Note yesterday. It was last charged on Saturday and, with light use, after three days it still had around 50% battery charge remaining when I went to bed on Tuesday night. Yesterday (Wednesday) morning I tried to wake the Note and it was completely dead. Of course I did not expect a flat battery, given the usual discharge performance of my Note. I removed and replaced the battery and hit various buttons and absolutely zip. I connected the charger and again no response. Nothing lit, no beep, nothing.
It's probably worth mentioning that I'm on the latest stock Samsung ROM and unrooted. I really thought it was FUBAR and would need to be sent off for repair. Anyway, I do have a jig so I plugged that in and the screen woke up, so I knew there was some sign of life. But still it would not boot.
Anyway, to cut the story short the battery was as dead as a dodo. I don't know why. It should not have been. I left it on charge from the AC charger and after a short while (a minute or two maybe) the charging symbol appeared with a hazard triangle upon it. It took over 4 hours to finally make it to a fully swollen 100%. The phone is almost exactly six months old and this is the first real scare I've had with it.
I only bore you with the tale because it might give hope to people who think their phone is bricked when the fact is that nothing worse has happened than the battery has gone (unexpectedly) very flat. Right now, 27 hours after I finished fully charging it the battery is down to 92%. That's the sort of performance I am used to. I will leave it without further charge for another few days to see if a similar thing happens again. Hopefully not.
yes i know u said that it started working. What i am saying is that whenever u want ur phone to charge switch it off and then charge(this way it will charge efficiently) . just follow it 3-4 time when u charge it and your battery will be on the right track(i hope that works). my note takes upto 1.3 hour (nearly) to charge completely from 10%. and when it's switched off it does the same in 45 minutes... what a difference!!!
try it and if it works for u then this way would be a best alternative to replace battery for charging issue (of course if ur device is still under warranty you should opt for a replacement).
I have been loving my Nexus since I got it on the first day it was available, but a couple days ago it started acting very odd. The phone will intermittently "die" while the battery is still mostly full. The phone will shut down, and if I try to restart it the screen displays the empty battery symbol and will not boot. As soon as I plug the phone in, though, it will boot up immediately and the battery charge icon while the phone is off shows as almost or completely full. When I boot the phone back up it looks like it has 90% or so.
Has anyone else seen this issue with the N6? The phone is completely stock 5.0.1. I purchased it through Sprint, but as far as I know it's exactly the same as all the rest of them.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/nexus-6-att-powering-off-t2976509/page2#post58179998
Same problem here, still no solution. The Amazon thing didn't help for me. Maybe this thread gets some more attraction. Would really love to get this fixed.
I, too, am having this issue which began yesterday. It started as soon as I took it off the charger and the gauge read 100% for about 2 hours straight which was unacceptable since I was using it for just about the entire 2 hours. During that time, I kept checking the battery stats and it kept saying that it was unable to retrieve the battery statistics (or something like that). Then it finally died on me. Now it keeps dying at 80% and charges back up to 100%, only to die again
Sounds like a faulty battery

Try the fix mentioned here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60409122
Do you notice any bulging of the rear cover? If so, RMA immediately. This is an indicator of a defective battery if the above mentioned fix doesn't work. Also grounds for RMA.

Hi guys,
My phone turns off automatically. It actually has happened 4 -5 times in 3 days. Let me explain; Once my phone was just on my table and I picked up but it was off and nothing was happening. I just plugged in my wall charger (Turbo Power), it turned on and the charging showed 53℅ so it came back to life. Today, my phone was on charge and it was almost 70℅ andI had to remove the charger but as soon as I removed it, screen turned off and then I had to put the wall charger again to make it alive.
What could be the issue? I am confused.
Thanks!
Attached is an image of my battery stats for reference. Thanks!

Yes, the issue is still there when I keep my WiFi off. Also, i noticed that my phone used to get charge from 5℅ to around 40℅ within 15 or 20 minutes. I did put my phone on charge few hours ago but in one hour it was only 53℅.
I use Turbo Power wall charger and I purchased this phone 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if doing factory reset would work or not but first I want to make sure there is nothing else wrong with this.
Any thoughts?

If a factory reset doesn't fix it, my only other guess is that there is something wrong with the battery. If you purchased it new, it's very easy to get a warranty replacement through Motorola if you live in the USA, but I'm not sure how it would work outside of it.
I just posted in the "Weird Battery" thread. But you need to do a Battery Re-calibration by holding the power button to turn the phone and KEEP holding button until the phone re-boots itself. Ignore the "Power Off" dialog. Then plug in the stock turbo charger overnight. I had this problem a lot while using a wireless charger.

Thanks for the response and I will definitely try this. However, there is something I noticed: Today I plugged in my Turbo Charger and the phone started charging from 4%. After 45 minutes, it was 22%. I think that means it wasn't turbo charging and as soon as I plugged out the cable from my phone, it turned off and again I had to plug the cable in and it turned on and started charging. I then turned on my phone and the battery was at 22% (charging). After next 30 minutes it was at around 70% and then I tried to pull out the charging cable to see if it turns off again but it didn't.
I am not sure if it's right but I feel like when it doesn't get a turbo charge, it gets turned off when I remove the charging cable from it. But when it actually gets turbo charge, it doesn't turn off and act normally.
This is really confusing, isn't it?

The most likely problem is that your battery is failing due to age.
Although it appears to maintain a usable voltage, reflected in the battery % displayed, it can no longer provide the current needed to run the phone under high-load conditions. In those cases the voltage drops momentarily below the 0% level, triggering an immediate shutdown.
Try taking the back cover off the phone and seeing if the battery is significantly swollen or bloated. If so, it's time for a replacement. There are good video guides on YouTube detailing the process.
Your device is two years old, and all batteries wear out with enough charge/discharge cycles. If the phone is exposed to high temperatures (such as during turbo charging), the batteries will wear out faster.

Are you sure it can be a problem of battery? I purchased this phone in start of February and it's new. Also, if it's a battery problem then why does it happen just sometimes? Why not every time i plug in the charger? Also, my battery after full charge give me a handsome backup of 1 and a half day easily even after 81% use of a WiFi.

A weak battery is one possibility, but if you're getting a day and a half of usage from a full battery, then it's probably a different problem.
My next guess would be a bad charging cable or damaged USB port. Or possibly a poorly written app that's running in the background and causing memory problems somehow.
What Android version or ROM is on your phone, what background apps are running, and do you have any root programs or system modifications?

Thanks for the response. My Android version is 6.0.1 and in background I am not sure where to look at but the usual stuff I use are Facebook, Watsapp, MyCafe game (I have already tried uninstalling it to see if it's causing the problem). My device is not rooted and there are no modification. I am using this phone as I got it new. Thanks!
For few days it was working fine. Now, I was facing the same issue again so I tried to do a factory reset. Now when I tried to boot it up for the first time, I was setting up the Google Account, I didn't remember my password so I first changed it using my PC and then tried to sign in on my phone but now it's always saying "please sign in using one of the owners accounts for this device". I tried to google it but all of it ended up giving me a solution that I have to wait 72 hours because there has been some Google Security or something? I don't understand. Please help!
sounds to me like the battery is dying/dead. i would certainly open up an inquiry to motorola to see if they can get you a new battery. doesn't hurt to ask.

I had to encrypt the device and it's back to life now. But still, the issue is still there. The phone still shuts down automatically as soon as I take off the charger. It's weird that when I don't face this problem, I get day and a half battery backup which is totally normal to me. Do you think it still can be a bad battery problem?

Hi Sh-Obaid!
Although this is a pretty old post, but I have just faced the same problem with my droid turbo as you were facing exactly a year ago. I am pretty sure that you must have ditched the droid turbo by now, but still I am curious to know if you finally found out the actual problem or some solution. Please share your experience as it can help me to fix my paperweight (almost dyeing turbo).
It keeps turning off during boot-up or android running mode within a few minutes after the charger is removed. But, it can stay 'on' for several hours in recovery mode (due to which I doubt that battery is dyeing) and also shows Good Battery status in the boot-loader mode. I have done factory reset and even re-installation of the stock rom but neither worked for me.
Any input from you would be highly appreciated - Thanks!
My phone had been working perfectly fine, as well as charging perfectly fine. Recently, I accidentally let it drop to 0%, which I don't usually do. I went to plug it into the same wall outlet as always, but instead of the usual charge process, the battery icon with the lightning bolt in the middle simply flashes on the screen and then turns off, which happens over and over again.
It should be noted as well that about 3 weeks ago my phone get fairly wet. After that incident, I turned it off till it dried, powered it up, and everything appeared to be totally ok.
Other facts:
-I can safely get into the recovery menu (power + vol down), which is stable, but any menu selections result in the Motorola splash screen for a quick second and then the phone powering down.
-The computer will recognize the connection to the phone.
Attempts to resolve:
-New cable, new usb hub, new wall outlet
-Trickle charge from the computer (same flashing)
-Phone in rice to remove moisture
-Toothbrush cleaning of Micro-usb port (suggestion from another thread)
I'm pulling my hair out, and I am considering prying off the back and replacing the battery. I have searched other threads, but have seen various solutions none of which worked for me. If anybody has any idea how I can fix this please help!!! Thanks in advance.

Either there is something wrong with your battery, or there is something wrong with the USB port. If the USB port is the problem, you can use wireless charging instead. I'm a fan of this one, personally: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S7IBDGW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
Also, are you unlocked? If so, what battery percentage does TWRP say?

Thanks for the quick reply. It does seem like a battery problem, however it is just so coincidental that it stopped working after I let the battery drain to 0%, when only hours previously it was in use and charging without any issue at all.
Also, if there was a problem with the micro-usb port, I would think that a computer wouldnt be able to read the phone, but when I plug it in it is recognized as an ADB device.
I have another turbo with a cracked screen, I'm thinking about dissecting both and putting that battery in this phone as a replacement.
And unfortunately I am not unlocked :/.
Update
Well, after some further experimentation, I've gotten it working again. The solution was to charge it for like 5 hours, then let it sit off charge for an hour, and then it would boot... bizarre combination of actions. It has since dies twice and I've had to use this method.
It is working for now if I don't let the battery drop below like 15%. Seems more like a software or hardware issue to me, and i'm still trying to resolve it, so if anybody has any suggestions please let me know.
Also, what is the best way to re-calibrate the battery, maybe that could help?

If you can't let the battery go below a certain percentage, it might be an early sign of failure. The voltage might drop suddenly and unexpectedly towards the end of discharge, prompting the phone to emergency-shutdown.
As for calibrating the battery...it depends on who you ask. I would say that running it to shutdown (even if shutdown is "15%") and then charging it to 100% should do it, since that gives the controller a full set of data with which to extrapolate a discharge curve. Clear your cache in recovery, so hopefully the OS will pick up on this to accurately track the battery's actual state.
Get Kernel Adiutor or something similar to check your battery's health, too. If there's something obviously badly wrong, it should report something other than "Good".
If you note when your battery dies abruptly and you immediately reboot the back light is very poor. Almost flickering.
I think this is a battery issue of not being able to feed enough amperage.
...however. My phone was doing this and after a full clean reflash it has stopped. I question if this is because I am running less apps now. Or if perhaps somehow the battery managed to lose its memory. (Li ion is an odd duck..)

Thanks for the pointers. So strange, first it died at 40%, then 30% then 15%. Now, it is still dying early but I am no longer facing the issue I originally had, it will show normal charging when off, and boots up right away. Sure hope its not some ticking battery time bomb, its still a relatively new refurb.
I attempted the charge calibration so we shall see if it helps. I also did a factory reset for the hell of it, since I am on stock and can't reflash. Perhaps I'm in the clear, that would be awesome. Still no idea what the issue was in the first place though, which will annoy me to no end.
Hi guys,
I normally charge my p20 pro every night. Plugging in an hour ago, I recognized that supercharge doesn't work. Sometimes charging completely stops.
Tried to reboot, nothing changes...
Installed battery app and see that maximum charging current is about 1700 mah.
Does anyone now what it could be?
Tried another charger, same situation. Tried different cable, same situation. P20 from my girlfriend on my charger and supercharge works fine.
Thx Benny

Must be a fault with your phone if thought tried another known good charger and it still doesn't work.
Another strange behavior is that sometimes charging stops. And sometimes usb options pop up like if you connect to a computer... But phone is on charger.

Sounds like hardware issue. Get a replacement.

Hi there, I've been dealing with the same issue as you for the past few days. Mine I can confirm has resolved automatically. Do you expose your device to water or moisture alot? I believe that the p20 has been optimized for safety incase the phone is ever dealt with moisture in the charging port. My issue was that the phone kept saying 'supplying power to connected USB device' when in reality, there was no device connected to the phone in the first place. This was on the night I had dipped the device in water, it appears the USB port is more susceptible to being affected by moisture than any other area of the device. I have taken note that while the charging port is wet, the phone does not enter supercharging. As for how I was able to resolve this issue, I first used a blower to clean any dust or debris in the charging port, this allowed the device to return to its normal state and not think that it is connected to another device. However, this still didn't allow supercharging to work, the following day i was desperate to get this fixed without taking it to the service center. And it would still only show 'charging' and not 'supercharging' whenever I connected the device to the charger (it would actually show super charging for a split second and then going back to charging). I finally decided to just clean the port with water instead (I know this might sound risky and stupid) and so I did it. When I tried plugging it in again it would not supercharge, but i already had anticipated this. Instead, I waited for the next couple of hours for the water to dry out and when it did, finally super charge was working once again. So my suggestion to you is:
1) Clean the charging port as well as you can, and have some patience (incase you do end up using water, as the phone does not super charge when it finds the port to be wet.) Also if you do end up using a pin or something similar make sure to gently wipe away the debris (if any) and be careful not to damage any of the connectors of the port.
2) disconnect the charging adapter and make sure it is plugged out for atleast 30 minutes before plugging the cable and adapter again.
3) if these don't help you then you should definitely go to the service centre.
EDIT: IF YOU DO USE WATER PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ONLY USE A SMALL AMOUNT AND NOT BATHE THE CHARGING PORT IN WATER!!
Thx psycho!
My phone got wet yesterday and the day before. Today morning supercharge works again. Yesterday evening the phone said normal charging but not plugged into wall. Only plugged the charger into phone.
That might be a symptom of a short circuit by water.
I got an app to measure the current ampere.
Does anyone know how much ampere the p20 takes from the charger?
I know that the charger goes down with the ampere when getting near 100%.
I will take a measurement in the afternoon again when supercharging.
How long should I take to get from 30 percent to 90 percent for example?
I hope it's not a hardware problem...
Thx guys.

You're welcome! I couldn't find any solutions online too so I get how you feel. I think it's just the way they programmed this phone, it won't super charge when it detects any kind of moisture underneath it, when that dries up it goes back to normal so it charges as it should. As for the max current you should expect it to be around 4800 mA - 4900 mA on lower battery levels. Expect this to decrease over time but that is normal, it's just how Huawei's super charging works to ensure that your battery lasts longer and is safe to use. So if it charges above 4000 mA when you first plug it in you should be good. You'll notice the phone starts of slow but as each second passes by the charging speed rises. Also expect charging to slow down on heavy uses such as gaming and when the phone is hot. I think you should be fine as long as the phone continously says that it's super charging at all battery levels. Expect a 0-100% in about 1h 20 minutes.
Below is an example of the max current speeds I get out supercharging but note that this varies slightly depending on battery percentage.
This happened to me too ?
It has been 4 days since my phone got wet and it still doesn't support suppercharge. What do I do? ? Currently charging at 1700 mA according to Ampere

Have some patience. As long as the phone displays supercharging in the lockscreen it's fine. It's also possible that there's still moisture in the charging port/battery area that the phone detects which is preventing it from supercharging. I recommend drying the phone thoroughly and waiting. If it doesn't work within a week I recommend factory resetting your device and/or trying a different cable and adapter. If nothing works, i recommend taking your device to the service center. I have personally experienced this myself and the issue had resolved itself within 3-4 of occurance.

Yes, Charging will appear and then the device will say SuperCharging and will go back to Charging a split second after. Haaaay. This is so frustrating. Today marks the 5th day

I had the same issue, except that before it wouldn't say supercharging for even a split second and it would only say charging. Overtime though, the phone eventually started saying supercharging for a split second (just like in your case). I feel as though this is a good sign.
Avoid charging your phone overnight if you can, it isn't good for the phone, heat etc, supposed to shut off and not allow anything through but it still does and it's best avoided.
In regards to your device not taking the full effect.
It does actually sound like a fault, allow a complete discharge (also something you shouldn't do) then give it a shot, plug straight into a wall rather than an extension.
Other than that I'd say RMA.

It's been proven that keeping charger connected at 100% charge does not damage the battery and some times it's even good to discharge the phone completely so battery is 0% since it helps the battery and operating system to keep proper % level registered. Since it has happened that battery begins to think at 45% is 0% and 100% is 100% so when it reaches 45% it shuts down and tells you batter is empty 0%. This is because battery has been miss calibrated in the operating system which has an file that registers which point battery is empty and full. So this is why emptying the battery fully few times does help calibration to stay correctly with 0% as 0% and 100% as 100%.
For the OP it seems somethings odd with supercharge, could be USB port on the phone, USB controler on main board or the charger and cable.

OMFG there is always one, Lol i'm not going to go into this any more than i absolutely have to.
To put it mildly, you're completely wrong, and i don't care what you've read, please understand physics, if you push power towards something and continue that pressure, whether electric or otherwise, something has to take the brunt of that force, capacitors can't do this forever, which is why they burn out.
I've worked in the mobile industry for over 20 years, i've seen what 6 months of charging every single device on the planet does EVERY SINGLE TIM, iPhones down to nokia 100's
Please don't go on about this, i've seen this 1,000's of times on 1,000's of devices.
Your battery will either bloat or lose efficiency, or your actual device will inherit anomalies, i really do not have time to type what i typed nearly 10 years ago so you can understand.
Don't talk to me about capacitors, which is the only thing which is stopping that charge from getting to the motherboard of the device.
The only reason you should charge your device overnight is because your provider wants your device to die so you can buy another, and that's IT.
I've seen a battery which was a highly rated lithium battery stretch a device in half with industrial sized screws, the battery stretched from 0.4" to 2.2 inches.
The only thing i did was to charge it a lot and it split the device in half (same device used to diagnose mercedes benz cars and BMW's)
Please don't drop "it's been proven" in here, you're very very wrong and the only person you're helping is your provider.
You make your decision who you'd like to listen to, i can't be arsed arguing any more than i already have.
To the OP.
RMA your phone, that's not right.

To bad for you then, since your fact are wrong. It's been proven my bigger professionals out there that it's a myth that battery gets damaged when keeping charger connected at 100% since when it reaches 100% charge point it will stop charging the battery, but mobile will still be running from Charger. So yeah just admit you are wrong, i'm not the one that's wrong.
Also they did say one thing, damage did occur only on very old batteries that exsisted years ago, then those kind of batteries couldn't handle and would become damaged when charger was connected at 100% and it was different type of battery back then as well. Now we got something called Ion battery which can handle the full charge better than old batteries did.
Also idc how many years you been working with phones, alot of people still think wrong and have wrong facts still.
But now your words are against over 10 or more proffessionals out there that has proven opisit answer, so yeah just admit you are one with wrong facts.
Not last but least, alot of people take old facts with new batteries and still belives that battery are affected same way. But answer is no it isn't affected same way. lithium ion is another kind of battery we use for quite few years now. But before lithium ion came then it was a another kind of battery that did not handle itself well with 100% charge and would easily wear out alot quicker and get damaged.

Lol ok as I said I'm not going to go into it
You overcharge your phone and see how you get on.
Tell me have you ever got anything close to these battery stats for SOT
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/screen-time-leaderboard-post-longest-sot-t3780178
14 hours 20 mins?
No I know you haven't
You carry on and I'll do my thing.
Max up time for an iPhone 6 183 hours.
That's a week to you.
I know you have never seen these numbers.
But whilst you're sitting there with your head in the sand overcharging your phone every night lol.
Spare a moment for what you could have.
Don't spread crap without proof.
I have tangible proof I've seen and had to replace devices because of it. Screens, batteries, buttons.
I've seen more kit then you'll ever see.
You carry on the way you are but don't tell people to do what you do. It's idiotic and until you realise that you'll believe what you've read.
FYI you're relying on capacitors.
The second they fail your screwed.
Lol lithium is lithium..
You charge it it expands, please try to understand the logistics and dynamics of what your are attempting to talk about.
Or I'll tell you what, you keep overcharging your poor phone and I won't and we'll see who's phone lasts the longest after a year. I promise you I'll put you to shame.
You're taking someone else's word you don't know over someone with first hand experience of this behaviour
On your head be it
Supercharging Works Again!
So after 11 days my p20 pro's ability to supercharge is back and Im so relived. Thanks for all your help!

It just appears randomly. When I was at work earlier, it worked. But now that I'm home and I plugged in my phone it doesn't work again. It just promps every once in a while. It's like trying to supercharge and something is stopping my phone from doing it
my pro had a swim last night, and now it doesn't charge at all..
