Well I have a certain habit of breaking stuffs regularly and I've done it again.
Well I tried to remove the pattern lock through adb(not that I forgot it just out of curiosity).
And after the reboot the pattern was gone! But as soon as I unlocked it showed android is starting and well it didn't start (till now)...
I know I can fix this with a factory reset but that'd mean ill have to set up the phone again, that's a real pain and I have a lot of apps installed that'd take hours to set up again.
Any help guys ?
@Fredin_, still stuck?

Are you not making a backup of your apps and settings on a regular basis ?
If not I suggest you start as I know at this stage, you just love "tinkering" with your phone.
BTW @SeenThings maybe you haven't seen my question to you here,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78068014&postcount=14
but very interested as to what you did to resolve and by answering you may well help others .
After all that is in keeping with the spirit of the forum.

Never knew Android had a safe mode till you mentioned. Thanks anyways.
@Fredin_ : maybe u can try to clear any cache from user setting about the screen security.
u can enter to safe mode with this : when phone starting bootanimation, u press and hold the volume button few sec, and u got the safe mode. u know better than me.
@Sparkrite : im so sorry sir, im just following he's tutorial and he's help me to fix my problem. Thank you.

im a bit new to xda developers. ive scourged the forums all day via search and found no concrete help or answers.
FIRST: i dont know what adb is and because of that, idk why my nandroid backups and restore wont work. it say "push via adb" or something like that
SECOND: i also dont know how to use sdk or whatever it is.
i need a detailed walkthrough of some sorts because the search on this forum sucks and did not help me at all
*COUGH*google search "ADB HOW TO" *COUGH*
look at the results!
took all of 2 seconds dude.....not being able to find info on adb is bs. not trying to be a douche but seriously....

not to highjack the thread, but whats it mean when recovery starts prompting you to exctecute command via adb/sdk? i noticedbmy bluecarebear is TRUELY angry with me, so much hes not wiping my ext or dalvk!
nandroid works, backup and restore
factory data reset works
but wiping doesnt.
help?
Well using the xda search "ADB" the first result is a thread that leads you to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719
How is that difficult? Everything you need to know about the ADB et al is there
As far as the sdk is concerned, your hero is rooted so it is on your pc already if you followed the traditional process. Otherwise it is there in the link as well.
Seriously I am not trying to be a smart ass but too many people give up before even trying.

I would try reflashing your recovery image.
I had trouble with the green one a while back, I changed images a couple times for other reasons. Back on green cb now with no problems since flashing over the problematic image.

im not up on most of the geek terminology or whatever it is, in other words the guide here wasnt helpful, but since im rooted, i guess i dont need it(sdk) or whatevr. i still cant figure out why i cant make any nandroid backups or restore currently stored ones
... I'm speechless, or I guess in this case typeless
*edit- +1 On what subliminalurge says in the next post. This stuff is not hard to learn. Either commit yourself to a couple weekends of focused enlightenment or make your peace with the stock setup. Almost any of us would be happy to help... after you take the first couple steps and learn some of the FUNDAMENTALS.
Go to the "GUIDE WIKI" and read read read, when you start becoming familiar with some of the "geek terminology" come back and we'll help connect some of the dots.

Also not trying to be a smartass, but come on dude. If you're not willing to hit google and learn a little bit, then you are probably already in over your head just with what you've done to your phone so far.
I STRONGLY recommend you find a way to be happy with stock phones. Otherwise, I see a large collection of very expensive paperweights in your future.
Decided for fun I would call this a rom, Adeo (A deodexed rom).
This is the full retail system dump, deodexed. Nothing more, nothing less.
What is the point of this?
So you can modify the APK's in a deodexed environment or apply some of my mods
taken down for now
In the mean time I will be working on a better script that executes on the phone rather then thru three bat files so you only have one SU request.
Disclaimer: break your ****? Don't ***** to me about it, you know the risks.
Downloading Now! Thankyou Designgears
Awesome job making it super accessible for everyone! Now we can all have deodexed systems.
Looking forward to the battery mod as well as the shut down options one.

working on a shell script so I can push everything to the phone, and launcher script, accept one SU request, reboots, and done.

crappy, not sure why that would happen unless the deodexed files didnt really copy over
So I am trying to write a script following your instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11585851&postcount=1

Seriously, while you wait for the fn thing to reboot, it seems like it's forever. But trying to type everything in a command prompt, the time speeds up to reboot. FML
will try and see if that works. Do you have a script you can post since you said you have used the recover method before?

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this.
Yesterday my Samsung Galaxy S3 with ArchiDroid 2.3.8 suddenly restarted. And since then it isn't possible to start the device at all.
A photo of the starting screen is attached.
I had this problem one time ago. This happenend as I tried to use a HDMI/MHL-adaptor with my S3. Wiping and reinstall Archidroid was the solution. But I don't want to do this all two weeks...
So it would be nice, if you know other solutions or the reason why the phone behaves that way.
Thanks,
Konne

Yes, I too have experiences that might help the developers from time to time. It seems silly to have to look for other topics we can waste a few posts on. A few times I've tried to send a PM question/observation but those have never received replies and seem to be a waste of time.
That's right!
Now I wiped the phone and re-installed Archidroid and it works again...but I don't know how long...? And I have to download all apps again, configure everything and some data is lost (like SMS).
Can somebody recommend an app with which I can backup everything and recover with the the bootloader?

Sounds like you've jumped into the deep end a bit too early... The best option for you is likely to go to your device's forum, here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus
There you can probably find information and guidance on how to root, flash and install stuff to your device. And you'll be able to ask for assistance from other users that have the same device as you (not every device works the same, and that is especially true for Samsung).
A couple of tips for you, going forward:
Do your homework. Read as much as you can about the modifications you're trying to do, and Android modification in general (but remember that things can change fast and a guide you find might be very outdated by the time you read it. The forums are usually the best place for up-to-date info).
Make backups! Always make sure that you have a backup of any important data, and don't store it on the device.
Know how to go back to a working state when you mess up, because mess up you will (everyone does at some point). This tip is of course tied to the first one...
Don't follow some guide or video blindly. Make sure you understand what every step of the process does. That way you won't get stuck like this next time.
Good luck.
