I have the Samsung Galaxy Camera and a Samsung Galaxy Note as well as a Nexus 7 tablet.
Is there an app I can use on both the Note and Nexus 7 that will let me take pictures with the Camera via remote control?
It would be nice to be able to view what the camera lens see on the Note or N7's screen and be able to click a button to snap a picture.
I haven't tried it personally, but shouldn't apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.im.RemoDroid work?
Basic idea being that remotely viewing and controlling the screen should do what you desire?

Any news?
I'd like to use a remote app, but nothing in the playstore satisfied me.
I think we have to wait, there are two apps which should work in the near future.
1. Samsung Remoteviefinder
2. Samsung Smart Camera App
For the time being i'm using teamviewer remote, it works best. None of the vnc tools works flawlessly.

So in my quest to find a app that would allow me to record video on my phone with the screen off i came across SVR PRO. I tried it on my S4 and it worked perfectly so i decided to load it on my gear. Well...Well its God sent on the gear. You can record video with the screen off for unlimited amounts of time making your gear the ultimate spy gadget or at home video record or whatever you would like to use it as. In order to get it to function properly i changed the DPI to 120 and the video quality to 640x480 and it works perfectly. I have recorded video for 5 minutes with the screen off and all was well.
If you would like to try it out here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zeronoiseapps.secretvideorecorderpro
Thanks friend. I just tested the app, and it works great. Thank you very much. Regards

$6.99 ouch! Cool app, but I will wait for a cheaper option. Either way, cudos for a great find for those with more $$$.
I use ICS camera, works fine, free, and can start unlimited video recording

I was about to buy the Pro version for my watch but then I realized that it would not work. Because, since the Gear doesn't have the Google Account system, it wouldn't validate if I just sideload them.
Of course, I'm not in null_ROM. I'd like to stay in stock.
Is there a way to make it work? What a shame that it works so great but I can't buy it!
Tizen?
does this work on the Gear Tizen ? sideloading it will work right? oo
This is for anyone looking to get the Note 4 and wanted a sample of the Video quality. The video is done though the Note 4, and nothing was modified or changed in anyway.
You can also get a few photo samples here: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera Samples So far the phones camera is awesome in my option.
Mod Edit: closed as a duplicate.
Bump for newcomers.

my youtube app only shows 720p max, really annoying, I tried the desktop method in chrome but it didn't appear to load, I kept getting loading error message when it played, when the video attempted to play it just froze my browser (chrome)
Found a better method if I want to see 4k video on my note 4 however more long winded, I downloaded tubemate app from amazon app store, this allowed me to download full 4k quality test videos and play them
You can upgrade your YouTube app and view 1440p. Search around for it.
Just if you are rooted though right?

I believe so, You will need to remove the old app to do so which require root.
This is really ticking me off. What's the use of a kickass screen if you can't feed it properly with content?
Fullhd doesn't work on the nexus 7 either
Check this 1080p 60 FPS video! This is waaaay better than 4k at 30 fps if you're not using a tripod. You get MUCH less blur when moving the phone.

Actually, this works.
Works really well. Only thing is that motion pictures work in 16:9 format only. No crashes or pink pictures so far.

I am looking for a good camera app that supports live photos (like iOS) with sound not just video. I know the Samsung camera app has motion but no sound included. What do you suggest? I have seen live photos on iOS. I am using Camera MX but are there other camera apps that support this.

Did you ever find an app? Are you able to backup camera MX somewhere online or does google photos support it?
