you're trying to root your phone i assume??.. Do you have the right Odin? Did you install the drivers? Did you make sure to enable usb debugging before starting? .. and lastly are you following the instructions correctly and are you using the right Bootloader version?

[Q] unable to root i9000

Hi...
I'm trying to root my i9000 2.3.6 xxjvu...
I'm using odin and i follow the [HOWTO] but odin stuck on setup connection, for hours...
Is somebody able to help me?
Thank you
which version of Odin are you using? maybe try a different version from the one you are using.
Also make sure KIES is not running & kill any KIES processes.
The 1.85 and the 1.82, i also tried on 1.30, and there is no Kies processus running...
what are you trying to flash?
are you flashing the correct file?
try downloading the file again.
try disabling any antivirus/firewalls
are correct drivers installed?
possibly try a different usb port & usb cable?
I'm trying to root it, with CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS
I'll try with another usb cable and port...
Another cable and port don't fix it...
Not sure then.
Usual issues are drivers, usb cable, usb port, kies processes running in background, version of odin.
Have you downloaded cf-root again?
If you can try another pc. If that doesn't work then i'm not sure maybe someone else can help.

Well rooting flashing phone is pretty easy and its easy to find out whats the problem.
Ok when you put in the phone with usb cable and start odin you should see the odin to find your phone.. if it does not its usb driver problem.. I tried to get it working on windows xp and damn its almost impossible to get it working with odin. Using windows 7 it works quite easily. Only once i had to do some driver fighting before odin found my phone..
Just start there and if odin finds your phone it should really work.. You can pm me if I've forgotten this thread and not answering in a day or so. Just tell me whats the problem exacly and what os you are using.
OH AND... if you got a older phone that has not been updated with kies the download mode does not work without the kies update.

[Q] help me pls

i got samsung s3 mini GT - I8190 made in korea the problem is download mode dont work even odin cant detect it when i plug it on usb i realy want to root it and install CWN please help me how to root it

Usb debug doesn't matter in download mode.
Use original cable, usb on the back of the computer. If you're on laptop just try another usb.
Make sure you got samsung usb drivers installed. If you got kies installed, make sure you kill all process with kies in taskmanager before you open odin.
Put phone in download mode, connect to computer, open odin.
Otherwise you can check out the one-click-root in general section, then download rommanager to put cwm in your phone.
Good luck.
sometimes the samsung drivers cause problems.
Use THIS.
Good luck
[ This is only a hint and not a question! ]
I had the same problem with Windows 8.1 x64.
Different driver, Administator rights and much more didn't help.
With Windows 7 x64 odin work perfect. :good:

Root without CABLE - is it possible? Note 5

Hi there
I would like to root my annoying Samsung Note 5. My usb port only charges it does not work with data at all. It has been replaced to no avail. What process / software (ADB?) can I use to root my phone? Once rooted I intend to install TWRP and use a custom rom.
I have tried Kingoroot but it was unsuccessful.
Thanks!
I too would like an answer as my phone has done the same thing. Won't quick charge via cable and an Windows does not recognize the device error connecting to Windows on any PC.
Have you installed the official Samsung drivers? Try that then install Odin. Put the phone into download mode and launch Odin, see if it detects the device. If so, you might have a chance.

Help with driver issue

Hello all! I have a unlocked Note 9, this is my 2nd one. Both I have wanted to restore back to 8.x from the beta, ODIN, and smart switch are not working. They are recognized, and then when the phone restarts into download mode they basically just sit there, do nothing. I started to think it might be the driver for download mode, not installed right, so it cant find the phone correctly. So can someone confirm this is what you see / should see when the phone is in download mode

I Havnt played with the note 9 in terms of flashing or rooting as I have the SM-N960W Canadian Snapdragon version and there is no way yet. I've used Odin many times to flash and it can be fussy for a few reasons, I rooted my Galaxy S7 and nexus 5 and a few others. My tips would be....
First Uninstall Samsung driver.
Then Download "usbdeview" on your pc and Uninstall any previous USB connections labeled Android or Samsung or related, as this will allow you to start off as if it's a fresh connection.
Re-Install Samsung USB drivers, then....
Plug in Using stock OEM Samsung Note USB cord and wait for it to connect and drivers to be recognized.
If no luck there try a different USB port. USB 2.0 May work if your using USB 3.0 and it isn't.
Try a different version of odin, there are many, also running odin as administrator may help but not necessarily for sure.
If all this fails try on another computer or laptop. Make sure you only select the proper/necessary options in odin.
