Not enjoying this phone. - Huawei Mate 20 Lite Questions & Answers

So I am having relentless problems with Bluetooth and phone waking up, first issue Bluetooth randomly drops when connected to car during a call, secondly when phone is connected signal won't refresh when it is in sleep mode, instantly when you wake up phone signal comes on, also when I click a phone number link in messages dialer comes up but number not there, do it again then number appears, ok Google has to be said twice to get speech recognition to open and when I'm connected to my smartwatch any notifications mostly don't appear till bluetooth is toggled on and off or phone is restarted, seems to me like some sort of wake up lag and Bluetooth issue, trying here for any solution before I get rid of phone, never experienced such problems before, ps honour 10 also had horrible Bluetooth issues. Any fix for this?

I guess it's probably connected to Huawei's horrible battery saving mode(s). From experience it will shut down so many things as soon as the phone goes to sleep. Did you try fiddling around with the battery saving settings?

TyTN II waking randomly

Hey everyone
Has anyone else noticed that their TyTN II wakes from standby when switching between GPRS and 3G. At least I think this is why mine appears to wake up randomly! It will be sat on my desk in standby mode and then the screen will switch on and the signal strength bars will move.
I've checked to make sure nothing is running in the background and performed a soft reboot.
Any ideas?
Hi
The Kaiser does turn on at least once every hour (some house keeping tasks), and will turn on if the mobile signal is lost. However these on's are in unattended mode which means the device appears off to the owner so the screen will not come on.
If you have some software that likes to do work or updates the today page for example, that software may be detecting the device has turned on and in order to get your attention or just through bad programming, issues a power announcement to say turn on proper, hence the display lights up!
Regards
Phil
Thanks for the info, I'll have a look what I have on there and try and isolate what is causing the power ups.
Cheers for the help.
If you have sprite backup installed with the auto backup on low power option that causes occasional power ups to enable the power check.
I may have solved this issue. After uninstalling enAlarm the phone, no longer appears to be waking. I'm still monitoring it though
i have the same problem when im signed on to AIM. Once i sign off it stops waking up, but if its on it'll wake up every 5 minutes or so, and it is in fact annoying. Havent found out the solution for it yet so i just dont really use it that often

it's when a friend log's in or out of AIM.. it's a paint, rediculious and ATT refuses to get rid of OZ messanger and use a real one.
here's the kicker. it supposed to use TEXT , but when a friend logs in or out, the message is sent to your phone, and then DATA brings up the list..
STUPID and ignorant of ATT but,. big companies do what they want!
I have been having the same problem as well. I just installed this DeviceLock program:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305402
If you enable the "Lock on Wake" option, the device will be locked when it wakes up, so the backlight stays off and you won't call anyone by accidentally hitting buttons.
Also, I ran across this related thread you might want to check out (basically talking about the same thing, but for the Tilt):

issues in 5.0.1 so far

- Sometimes the watch does not show any notifications anymore. Restarting the Watch "fixes" this behaviour
- Theather Mode is great. However it does not even vibrate anymore. At least there should be an option to keep the watch vibrating.
- After directly archiving a Gmail Notifcation it vibrates again. Why? Didnt do it on kitkat and i see no reason for it despite using more battery juicy.

Fabio

1 confirmed, noticed the same. Only reboot of watch helps. Occurred 2 times.
2 agree.
3 don't get many Gmail notifications, so cannot say anything about it.
My watch vibrates without reason when it is on the charger. Tried resetting my clock, put in silent mode, theater mode and even flight mode and it still vibrates. It doesn't vibrate Al the time, once every 5-10 minutes and some times more. It works fine out of the charger, no issues at all.
Didn't have this problem before update to 5.0.1

This is by design and indicates when the watch connects/disconnects to/from the phone. When it connects to the phone, it vibrates once; when it disconnects, it vibrates twice.
If you reboot your phone, the watch will vibrate twice when the phone's Bluetooth turns off and once when it turns back on. Or when you leave the watch on the cradle and walk away from it with your phone far enough to lose the Bluetooth connection, it will vibrate twice to let you know it disconnected from the phone. When you get back within range, it will vibrate once to let you know it reconnected to the phone.

Not always. See the link I posted above. My watch would vibrate at random while charging and the phone was on the cradle charging (and turned on) it would appear that the watch was possibly not getting a high enough current at times due to the phone charging.

I have also this issue (on R and G watch). It is when contact is not well between watch and dock. Seem OK but I must press watch to ensure right contact without vibrate signal for charge ON/OFF. Look at your charge icon on watch when vibrate to see if it is good
Thanks all for your info. I have my phone off during night maybe this is a new feature that reminds you about lost connection to the phone ? Tried all other suggestions with no luck

Had the same last night, noticed that my watch was waking up (just like me ) several times. Secured it better in the dock and all well again.
Removed wear mini launcher to see if that solves the "not receiving notifications anymore" problem (which was easily cured by a reboot of the watch). After removing wear mini launcher I also had to restart the watch because notifications did not work anymore, so it could be related.

Item 1 - I faced the same problem intermittently. The notifications come back again after I manually displayed the previous message (the one without notification) on the watch.

Let me try to explain my case:
- when this issue first happened, my watch did not display the notification when the notification is received on my phone
- I then swiped the screen of my watch to check if the notification was transferred to my watch or not although it was not displayed
- After swiping, the missing notification displayed on my watch immediately which indicated that the message was transferred to my watch although it was not displayed
- After the above actions (swiping and read the notification), my watch was back to normal for a while (the notifications could be displayed on the watch automatically).
I repeat the above actions every time when I noticed the notifications could not be displayed automatically.

I have same issue few times since the last update
It is strange to ear the notification sound and see nthing on watch, I look at phone and I see the notifcation icon on notification bar and all like you.
This Wear update sucks horribly. I've had this watch, GWR,for two weeks. I like it. Wear is complete garbage. Notifications randomly stop pushing to watch, reboot to temporarily fix. Randomly get 'offline' message despite showing 'connected' in Wear app, reboot fixes temporarily. Upon giving voice command, watch occasionally displays 'offline' message despite a strong data connection, usually no more notifications with this as well, reboot to fix. Battery life is 14 hours at best. So at the end of the day, I have a 300$ AMOLED watch. I bought this device so I could keep my phone in my pocket...this happens about one fifth of the time. The rest is me rebooting, uninstalling, reinstalling toggling Bluetooth and now randomly checking my phone to see what I'm missing because the toy on my wrist is totally unreliable. Nice work Google.

What kind of phone is your watched paired with? I get about 2.5 to 3 days on a charge. Everything is rock solid for the most part. The only thing I'm pissed about is I keep getting my step count card even though I tried fit notifications off.

I'm paired to an LG G2 rooted on xdabbebs 2.2.0. I can stretch my battery further but I chose to leave screen always on, skymaster face with ambient on level 3-4. 2-3 days is believable if your screen is off, backlight low, using theater mode here and there.... everyone's mileage will vary for sure but mine was definitely low.
I think I may have figured out what is causing the random disconnects and could be to blame for higher battery consumption. I'm gonna wait until tonight and see if my connection remains solid before I get too excited.
So far so good though after 12 hours.

I think it has a lot to do with a setting in Bluetooth on my LG G2 that is labeled 'connectivity authorization' or something like that. I have to go in and re-tick 'automatically' every time I cycle Bluetooth on/off or reboot phone, as it defaults to 'always ask' and that is when I get the fast battery drain and connectivity issues. The other issue is that I fly for a living, generally two legs a day, so I am constantly switching into airplane mode on phone and watch and it seems that a huge drain occurs upon landing and coming out of airplane mode. After a bit the drain tapers off.
I'm looking more for a fix for the constant disconnections
My battery is fine I've had 2 days out of it and it's normally more than 50% by the end of the day
If you haven't tried already, reset the watch and make sure you pair it with the Wear app, not thru Bluetooth settings. Do you have the option in your phone Bluetooth menu under the connected watch to change the connectivity from 'always ask' to 'automatic ' ? I'm 90% sure this is causing my problems.

Why won't my screen shut off

I've googled and looked all over for a fix but I can't seem to find a solution. My S6 screen won't shut off after 30 seconds of inactivity. If I get a text message or my battery reaches 100% overnight, my screen will stay until I turn it off myself.
Also, while I'm here, I'm experiencing call issues too. Sometimes when calling or receiving calls, it connects but neither side can hear anything. I have to hang up and call again. Is there a call bug?
Any solution?
Try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, the phone might be defective.

You checked your display settings correct? I have yet to have any call problems but I disabled volte so that might be why. When in doubt do a factory reset and if that doesn't work odin.
I always notice my screen will not turn off when it should. I use wireless charging btw.

If this is a legitimate problem and not a settings thing you guys have defective phones and should have swapped them out in your 14 day return period. What is described here should never happen unless the settings are set that way.

screen randomly wakes up

My device is completely stock.
I have noticed that the screen will randomly wake on its own to the lockscreen.
If i get a notification it does this however will also do it with nothing apparently new having happened.
Any ideas?
I noticed this before on my P9-L:ite but haven't seen it yet on my P10. In my case, I believe it happens when the phone loses or regains internet connectivity. Since networks are kind of spotty where I am, it happens somewhat often.
i have the p10 plus and i have the same situation...... any solutions?
Mine only does this when receiving a snapchat from someone. Could it be app related?
My one week old P10 plus has the same problem. It happens when I lock the phone while any app is active (I tried with a few apps). However, it doesn't happen when I lock the phone while the home screen is active.
Has anyone found a solution?
Still interested in this–
started happening to me a few days back aswell; I noticed the change after shooting some balls with my phone in the pocket, screen facing the skin. At some point the phone got insanely hot. When I picked it up all sorts of s*** happened, as if my thigh was able to make touch inputs through the pants? Notification center / quick settings were all toggled randomly. Flashlight, geo location and hotspot were switched on whereas Wifi and Bluetooth were off (which is unusual). And the camera was running with fully brightened screen, which I think was main reason for the heat.
I wasn't sweating extensively; meaning the phone wasn't wet in my pockets or something–
And I don't know if the random screen wake up enabled my thigh to make the touch inputs or of something else happened which from then on let the screen randomly wake up– chicken and egg, you know :F

Galaxy s10 screen wakes / turns on on its own... annoying bug

I've searched far and wide and can't find a solution for this issue.
Here is what happens: for no reason that I can see (no new notifications), my screen turns on its own. My phone is just there on the table when this happens and I haven't touched it.
This happens whether the phone is plugged in or not. It happens in the middle of the night and wakes me up.
Things I came tried:
- turn on do not disturb and remove all exceptions.
- disable always on display.
- disabled all lock screen notifications.
- disabled a notifications.
Other things I've tried:
Lift to wake and all other things that could wake the screen.
Did a factory data reset and re setup my phone from scratch.
Nothing works. Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance.
I had the very same problem until a few days ago when this behaviour suddenly stopped. What changed? I had shutdown my Pebble watch and connected a Wear OS watch to my phone.
I don't know what the Pebble did, but it looks like it woke up my phone at random intervals.
Maybe it a bluetooth device you've connected?
I'm expeciencing sometimes this behaviour when listening to the music on bike with phone in pocked on back. I disabled all "smart" funcions like smart lock, pocket detecting, wearing detection etc and it stopped.
I think it is caused by new type of proximity sensor used in whole S10 line (so I think it is hw related). I read somewhere than it detects skin proximity even thru several layers of cloting.
It is behaving strange even during phone calls - when put phone down from my ear, it tooks several seconds until screen lights on.
it's one of the things that bothers me a lot about otherwise great phone.
facing same issue
I always loved Samsung galaxy s10. I bought it from my friend who used it for 10 months. I am facing the same issue first I thought it is because he used it for 10 months and some bug appeared but now I came to know its not just me. if anyone knows how to fix it then please post a reply. I really need to fix this
I haven't noticed that on my S10. It sounds like something is triggering it, but what. Do all of you use Bixby because I don't.
