Will the Pure Edition have the same exact features and software as the AT&T version? I'm on TMobile and want to get this phone now but only if it has the same features. Thanks.

Yes it will, the only difference is you will not have the added bloatware and you will be able to unlock the bootloader without voiding your warranty. No reason to get AT&T version unless you are looking to go on contract.

It's lacks a few features, like:
AT&T Address Book, AT&T Live, AT&T Locker, AT&T Mail, AT&T Navigator, AT&T Ready2Go, Caller Name ID, sim and bootloader locked and 2 years contact.

Nope, it's bootloader locked unless someone can figure or how to unlock it which isn't easy (I know work is under way for the original X ATT). You can disable them but not removed. Also with the original X I could not disable ATT address book and it's extremely annoying since it pops up each time you open the People app, except it delays a few seconds before popping up.
There is just zero reasons to get the ATT version, even if you have upgrade subsidy it's better to pay full price for the unlocked.

The only reason I can think of to get a carrier branded version is the Wifi Calling.
I hope the TMO version comes with WiFi calling!

Based on T-mos current policy, it will NOT support their wifi calling. It is a BYOD phone, and none are supported. Not a good policy, but the case as it stands.
I was wondering if I am able to use my N6 on sprint or Verizon network. Been going through the web and XDA but just like a straight forward answer. Just a simple question that's all. Thanks in advance.

Yes. I bought my nexus 6 from Moto's website and popped my SIM in and it works perfectly. Don't know what your experience might be if you had to take it to the store to activate.

Your subject line indicates that yours is an AT&T N6. It is carrier locked to AT&T. You will have to get an unlock code, either directly from AT&T or from a third party. Can only be unlocked if you bought it outright, without subsidy. Do a Google search, there are plenty of articles on how to do this.

Yes. But you'll have to get a SIM card from an already activated phone. You won't be able to just walk into a VZW store. The IMEI number won't show up on their list. Go over in General section, there's a thread that explains how this works.

I don't know. But I'd guess it's much the same as VZW. Let's see if any Sprint users chime in.
Sounds good. But thank you. Appreciate the feedback

I have N6 on Verizon
When from Retail Rooted Note 3 to N6. They had to dummy a phone on my line that required a nano to get the nano then removed the phone but left thet nano activated. I then popped nano in N6 and good to go. Only downside you CAN NOT use data the same time as making a call. Everything else works great. Extended network, 3G...etc

As far as I know, activation on Sprint should be as easy as getting their Sim card and putting it in. Once the device is freed from the AT&T lock of course.
Read this post and the next few after. Sprint may even have this sorted out by now too.

So, I am trying to do the same now. I have an iphone 6 plus with a micro sim in it, and I am trying to swap that over to an att n6 I just got off the craigs list. I get some bars, and the "hands free activation". But it never goes anywhere and eventually the bars go away and say no sim available. How have people gotten this done?

The AT&T Nexus 6 is carrier locked. You need to go to the AT&T web site and request an unlock code. > https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/

Both. I was actually able to get it activated using sprints online activation tool. I just had to enter in my MEID rather than IMEI (meid is IMEI minus the last number).

Hello,
So, I just bought a BNIB S6 active...ATT says it is blacklisted. However, I just put my ATT SIM in it and it is working fine, just like its not blacklisted..the data works, SMS works, etc...
all of the "imei checker" sites also say that it is blacklisted also
so, my question is...why do the sites AND ATT say its blacklisted, but still working just fine? Is it something in the system that is laggy, and in a few days it will eventually block the IMEI and my SIM card??

well, interestingly....about 3 minutes AFTER I posted this thread, the phone did get suspended..lost the data, sms capability, etc.
However, I logged onto my account and just clicked on "re-activate" phone and now its working again...it said after you click "reactivate" to call ATT or chat with rep and they will unblock the phone...so, I called ATT..and they said the line has no restrictions and that i'm good to go...
Weird, so am I good, u think?

Presumably a stolen batch of phones. One can imagine that there are many points in the distribution chain where a case of phones might end up walking off a truck. But with inventory tracking, I expect that the imeis of each phone are also known, so they get blacklisted as soon as the carrier's asset tracking system catches up. AoN
After spending a fer moments trying to figure out how to enable the smart call feature on my S9+ like my S7 had I gave up and got on a live chat with Samsung. Turn out that this feature was removed and will not be made available to the U.S. Market. I am very disappointed with this news.
I would go :here:
engage in a live chat , maybe if they get enough complaints about this missing we can see it in a update.
Is this just US? As I still have this on my S9 here in the UK

Yes just the US market, ALL phones...carrier supplied or unlocked.
Are you talking about this feature here? http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/smart-call/
If that's the case then it looks like i have that on my unlocked S9. Wouldn't phone > settings > caller ID and spam protection be what you're talking about?

YES, What county are you in? Because the CSR that I was chatting with Samsung told me that ALL phones in the US market are missing that feature.

Samsung reps have been known to tell BS lies when they don't have a clue.
I am beginning to think then that if it is only the carrier supplied S9's missing it, it is because they want you to pay for their Caller ID service then.
I'm in the USA. Just triple checked to make sure what i'm seeing is that smart call feature. It's the same. So it's an unlocked S9 on cricket, for what ever that's worth. Maybe it depends on your carrier? Phone detects your on verizon it removes said feature?

Or Sprint, so miffed that they nerfed the phone.
Sad to say but what do you expect from these larger carriers? They nerf all the good features so they can offer their often sub par versions for a price to you.
That is what I get for assuming, my S7 had it so I thought for sure that the S9 would have it too.
Have the unlocked version on AT&T. In the dialer settings, there's an option to enable Caller ID and Spam protection thru Hiya. Have to approve the terms & conditions (whatever those are) before it works.
Don't see it on T Mobile S9.....
I would love to hear from a owner that is on Sprint, both Sprint provided and unlocked on Sprint.

I have an unlocked S9 on sprint and it seems to work for me. I haven't had a Galaxy since the S3 so i had no idea what it was but when i got a call from Samsung CS earlier today it showed their name with the "Smart" next to it.

Evening Folks! I've been doing a ton of searching and haven't found a solution yet, or anything specific to an unlocked Note 9 on the Verizon network.
I'm trying to figure out how I go about enabling (in some form or fashion) the Verizon video calling feature. I have two small girls at home, and travel often. I didn't realize when I purchased an unlocked phone, I would miss out on these features!
Anyone point me to a forum, or article that might shed a little light? I'm hoping for a workaround. Unfortunately the workaround for the Note 8 doesn't work for the Note 9.
Any help is extremely appreciated!!!!
Sincerely, Paul.
Pdub,
When you buy an unlocked phone on the Verizon network you loss WiFi calling, visual voicemail and network video calls. There is a forum were you can flash the Verizon version of Android 8.1. it's on XDA forum with instructions. That's how you can get it on an unlocked phone.
Also if you have Asurion for insurance with Brian, cancel it. They will not cover unlocked phone
Visual voicemail works (when you insert the Verizon SIM, the Voicemail app appears in Galaxy Apps).
Video calling was able to be enabled on Nougat phones, but has been blocked by Verizon. I've been using Duo instead which isn't ideal, but works well.
The Unlocked firmware has much less bloat, the Samsung Caller ID and Spam feature works (Verizon makes you pay extra), and I appreciate that there is no Verizon bootscreen, no annoying announcement when you're near a Verizon store, and seems to be less invasive.

Wow, I wish I would have known that. I didn't know Asurion didn't cover unlocked. Is there another insurance out there that does?
Also, if I were to flash the Verizon version of Android, would updates come through still?
