Lockscreen Wallpaper Zoomed - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Note 8, Oreo, US Variant, "U" Software
I use Nova launcher. When setting the wallpaper through Nova or the gallery app; the wallpaper would stay the same on both.
I changed wallpapers and Now out of nowhere the wallpaper is zoomed in on the lockscreen and goes to normal when I unlock.
The only thing that has changed is good lock and those apps have updated.
I have cleared cache partition - didn't work.
Deleted good lock and subapps, then cleared cache partition - didn't work
Deleted Nova, Cleared Cache, Redownloaded Nova- Didn't work
Reverted to Default Theme, Cleared Cache, - Didn't Work
I'm so irritated with this.

Anyone?

AT&T Galaxy S3 Mini - Can't add widgets

Hi guys, I was hoping maybe one if you had dealt with this before.
I can't add widgets to my homescreen (Aviate, KitKat+). Clicking the add widget button simply results in com.settings.android crashing.
Widgets however work fine on the stock TW Launcher and Nova Launcher, since both use their own built-in widget lists instead of the built in one.
I was thinking maybe deleting cache would be the way to go, but I want to try to avoid setting up all of my apps again. Can I delete just setting's cache? Would that work in the first place? Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks guys.
Deleting the cache of an app won't delete any of its settings, so you're good to go.
Only your wallpaper might be reset when you clear the launcher's cache.

Wallpaper Carousal Not Working in MiUi8

Hello,
The wallpaper carousal in my unrooted Mi5 doesn't seem to work. The lock screen shows only the default, offline 8 wallpapers.
I also tried clearing the cache and data of the carousal app (also tried a restart after that). Any clue about how to fix this?
Which launcher do you use?

It's the default launcher provided by MiUi.
Btw, it's a bit stupid that I am answering my own question, but the issue was resolved when I got an OTA two days ago The version I have now is 8.0.5.0

Good to know it works now
I was asking about the launcher because when you have custom launcher set as default, Wallpaper Carousel cannot access wallpapers and symptoms are just how you described. Xiaomi says that this is "known error"
Below feedback i wrote to Xiaomi
Changing wallpaper on Lockscreen is unique feature of Xiaomi but it's not working. I google lot on solution, still it is not working. Many users reported that the wallpaper is not changing on lockscreen. I tried both on default launcher and lightning launcher still not working. Did many troubleshooting like installed old versions, Autostart, no restrictions in battery saving, allowing all permissions etc still not working. My device is Redmi Note 4 rooted with Android 7.0 with MiUi 9.6.3.0.

App drawer grid doesn't resize

I've had my N8 for a month now and I've seen that ever since that lately, the app drawer has stopped resizing when I change Settings > Display > Display Size. This is incredibly annoying as the 5-across grid is incredibly congested and cumbersome to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. the app drawer grid resized fine earlier, this issue has started happening lately only

Just to eliminate the obvious stuff...
Have you rebooted the phone since changing the display size?

Yes mate, rebooted, cleared the launcher app cache (and a few other caches I could find, Oreo doesn't let you clear the cache in just one touch, unlike previous versions), cleared the launcher app data...
I chatted with Nokia support, they first tried convincing me that the app drawer always had a 5-across layout, and when I asked why it changes in the preview in the settings (under display>display size), they just said it's not possible to do it.
I can agree, it doesnt change. Even when using Pixel Launcher 2.

Aside from pulling the launcher apk from a previous OS update, might be easier to try a custom launcher like Nova, Lawnchair or Pear. They are all derived from the same AOSP launcher as the Nokia stock launcher so you'll still feel at home using them. (Pun intended)

You're right, I gave up and downloaded Evie Launcher. Still disappointed at Nokia Support's handling of the situation though.

Nova Launcher / exit app homescreen bug

I'm not a fan of having huge app icons so I've made Nova my default launcher. very occasionally, maybe 5 or 6 times in the 5 days of having this phone hitting the back key to leave an app or settings has taken me to a homescreen that wasn't mine.
it features apps that I've definitely installed and looks to be the example of how my wallpaper will look in settings / wallpaper.
it's no biggie but it is weird, wondering if anyone else had this ?

Yes I have the same issue. Than when i go to Nova settings the radio buttons on default launcher are both cleared (Nova & One UI). Seems like a bug. I am using as well Nova Google Discovery Companion. It's crashing from time to time and than I lose Google Discovery feed. The only workaround i find to work i to reinstall companion app.
there's also this weird bug where an icon in the draw at the top vanishes but it's space is there and you can click and open it.
still had to delete and reinstall it to bring the icon back.
Anyone else having problems with "Home" setting?
My FE tends to randomly forget my choice of launcher. I have Rootless Pixel and Nova Launcher Beta installed, and from time to time I find myself back at the OneUI interface instead. When I go to Settings>Apps>Default Apps, I find Home app set...

Wrong launcher after closing all apps in Android 11

I have just toggled... we shall see
EDIT:yeah this seems fixed by toggling between launchers, I've not had this for a few days.

Question Wallpaper resetting

Title says it. I have a nice Nova Launcher setup on my S21 Ultra (TMobile), but every so often I would see a "Wallpaper applied successfully" while using an app and when I go back to the homescreen, my wallpaper changes to something else. The image doesn't even look like it's on my phone. I don't understand why it's doing this and I don't know how to stop it.
The dark themed image is what my display is intended to look, the other is what it'll change to. I thought Zedge was the culprit but no. I thought Samsung's wallpaper setting, doesn't seem to be that either. Any help would be appreciated. I'm willing to even factory reset my device
.
Do you have any other wallpaper apps installed? What makes you think it is Nova launcher applying the screen?
You might get logcat set up, and if you can make it reset the wallpaper, the log should tell you what is doing the reset.
I don't have that problem and I use nova launcher. I have a different wallpaper for the lock screen and another for the regular home screen
@GeekasaurusWrex what types of widgets are you using? I really like your setup.
I was using live wallpapers from Wallop and was having the same issue! But switched to a downloaded image and it hasn't happen since. I think it might be an all setting the wallpaper being the issue. Try to download it from the app and then let nova set it
