I see ports of a lot of great phones, but none for the Galaxy S? Why?
Galaxy S features some good stuff,
1. The notification bar is quite amazing, as it displays the toggle widgets, and music player in there.
2. The lock screen is quite awesome also, it has a widget for calls/messages and music player.
Those are the two things I like about the Galaxy S which I'd like to see on the Nexus One.
The notification bar toggle widgets are available with CM 6.1 but the lockscreen isn't ported, can someone port that??
I don't think I'd want to infect my phone with any of Samsung's rubbish.
Hi there,
I recently upgraded to a Nexus 5 32GB from my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 running Android 2.3.6. However, one of the big dilemma's I have been facing is how to organize my home screens (e.g. placement of widgets, app shortcuts, etc.). I know it sounds silly, but it is something which I feel I need to get right. My current setup is;
Google now
Screen 1: Clock widget and battery widget
Screen 2: Power toggles and 4 app folders for commonly used apps
Screen 3: Flipboard widget and Facebook status widget
Screen 4: Sunrise calendar widget
Let me know what your setups are. I am keen to try different setups to see what works, as I am still getting a feel for the device.
Thanks!

I am thinking about trading my Note Edge in for a Nexus 6, played with one today at the store and I really liked it, the screen is amazing. But one thing about Lollipop turned me off big time and may be a deal breaker. The white background in the app drawer and settings, this is the ugliest thing ive ever seen, completely blocking the beautiful screen in the background. Looked in the settings on the display phone in the store and could not find anything to change it, please tell me their a way. Because if not, I will not use 5.0 til this is resolved!
Use a launcher off the play store. There are dozens that allow you to customize all you want.
Nova Launcher will allow you to set transparency in your app drawer. You will have to run a custom ROM to get rid of the white settings.

The settings is black on LS ROM. And Nova launcher works great too for black backgrounds.
Oops.
Thanks guys, I was worried.
Hi,
i am the owner of a oneplus 3t with Oreo and i cannot use Floatify anymore because Google doesnt allow screen overlay?? I dislike the stock lockscreen and how the notifications are showed.
I have used floatify with notifications as an alternative before i upgraded to Oreo. In the past i have also uses NiLS to show notifications on my stock lockscreen but this app doesnt work on Oreo.
Is there an alternative app that shows notifications on my stock lockscreen /
Is there an alternative that replaces the stock lockscreen with notifications?

I noticed if I use the default infinity wallpapers, when you swipe down the notification drawer from the lockscreen it's a smooth animation
However when I use a different wallpaper, even the samsung wallpapers as long as it's not infinity branded, swiping down the notification drawer from the losckreen is jittery and slow. It doesn't happen on the main home screen. Only the lockscreen
Anyone else having the same issue? Mine's an Exynos variant Note 9
Yes I have noticed It too, i wonder if there is somthing to do about it..

I've downloaded the Walloop Engine app from the Play Store, which gives you the ability to set the live wallpaper as your homescreen/lockscreen wallpaper. For some reason, lockscreen notification drawer doesn't lag if you set a live wallpaper. I have no idea how Samsung managed to produce such a silly bug with static wallpapers.
I also have found that if you set your screen display to WQHD the animation on the lock screen will be laggy and will stutter and even sometimes on the home screen itself and if you put the screen display on FHD+ the animation will run smooth.
Check it out and tell me If the same problem happen to you too.

I notice this issue only on lockscreen, but yeah, it happens only on WQHD resolution and only with static wallpapers. Infinity wallpapers and live wallpapers are not causing any issues, regardless of resolution. So, to sum up:
HD/FHD resolution: no lag, we can use any wallpaper
WQHD resolution: notification drawer lags with static wallpapers, but doesn't lag with infinity/live wallpapers
