I just got the T-Mobile Galaxy tab, and for some reason the GPS is not working at all... It shows the gps sign on the notification bar, but in maps, gps test, and gps status, there is no GPS data!
PLEASE HELP!
Thank you so much in advance,
Michael
i noticed that GPS perf is average indoor, if not below average. it is comparable to HTC Touch Pro, which is quite disappointing.
If you are trying from indoor, try to take it outside. many apps are saying that GPS works better when used with clear sky and i think it performs much better outside.

I would make sure that I'm not using a case that has a magnet or any kind of metal on it. They interfere with radios and especially the GPS.
A couple of months ago I started using a Zenus case which has magnetic buttons. Almost immediately my GPS stopped working. It took me a very long time to figure out the real culprit. I tried rooting, changing some gps related files etc. None worked until one day when after accidentally leaving the cover at home I switched on the GPS - it started working.
Dude, you should update the maps in your galaxy tab. I updated already my maps and gps is runing smooth.

I bought a tab last week in Germany. The gps work fine in Germany, Holland and Belgium. But right now I am in Turkey and here it just keeps "searching" but never gets a location.
I wonder why and what, but I suspect location has something to do with it.

GPS not working
Hi
You definitely need to be outdoor for GPS receiver to obtain signal.
If indoors, you'll get signal if you have tile roof, not steel or concrete.
With a-gps, it might look like you are getting signal but actually, your device is using data to obtain location from cellular towers.
For best and quickest reception, enable your device's location and a-gps. Note, a-gps does not use lot of data, very little.
I've been using Nokia Lumia 920 for more than three weeks. Everything works fine except GPS at least for myself.
I used to have daily running so I installed an app MapMyRun to record all in my previous device Galaxy S2, and now Runtastic in Lumia 920.
However, when started using Lumia, GPS becomes my nightmere. Not like S2 which GPS is fast to position and very stable, Lumia 920 is always unstable and even hard to position my location. Unfortunately I just have one record that keeps all tracks until now. Think the chip boarded in Lumia 920 is supposed to be same as what I realize in Galaxy S2. Therefore, I don't know what's going on and not sure if anyone else here has encounters the same.
It would be appreciated if someone can raise some suggestions or ideas or just wait for Nokia's update.
Many thanks,
Was having some GPS issues (long time to find GPS signal/location, no tracking once location was changed) since my last hard reset (about 2 weeks ago) but this morning updated to the latest firmware release for my region (Firmware version number 1232.5951.1249.1007) and tested Nokia Maps this morning and it was very quick, so maybe the update did something. I saw a press release a month ago talking about what was getting updating with this firmware update but can't recall if it said GPS in there. It is supposed to stop the random reboots that I am having.
I bought the phone on a business trip on central america. Yesterday activated mi z3c and began using it. everything flawless. until all the sensors crashed. Proximity, gps, accelerometer, compass. they were responsive again perfectly for like five minutes today and then broke back for good. Any ideas on how to repair ir, considering I already flashed the software again through pc companion and can't apply to warranty as i purchased the phone on another country??
please help
I have flashed 2 softwares now and none of them solved my problem. Does anyone here has experienced something simmilar or can someone help me with a possible solution.
On my S7 Edge, S8, and S8+, I've been able to selectively disable Battery Optimizations from apps like Nine (Email), Facebook Messenger, and other apps to ensure they don't go into deep sleep mode (Doze) to ensure timely receipt of emails or Facebook Messenger Messages.
On my Note 8, the menu is unchanged from the other devices, but I noticed the functionality is no longer working. The difference being Android OS 7.1.1 vs. 7.0 on the other devices.
In FB Messenger, the tell is when you open the app after a few minutes, if you see the orange bar that says "connecting to network", you know the app disconnected in deep sleep (Doze). With Battery Optimization disabled for this app, this disconnect should no longer occur, but it is.
In Nine, the tell is when your phone randomly pushes a bunch of emails to you, sometimes 20-30 minutes delayed when on the earlier Samsung models, the emails come in right away. This is not an app-related configuration issue, but Doze issue.
Perhaps a glitch? Has anyone else tested on their Note 8 and experienced the same?
I wouldn't even know how or where to report a bug like this to Samsung.
No one ever replied. Has anyone experienced the above? Perhaps resolved now? I ended up going back to my S8+ because of this problem.
Had same problem with random disconnections even with Battery Optimizations and Battery Monitor disabled for Messenger, Im using an old version now (91.0.0.19.70) with the old interface and no problems since... I found latest versions of messenger very buggy at least for me.
About Nine, don't know as I use Outlook and never had a problem with it since I have this phone.

On my S8+, I use the latest versions of FBM (beta stream). No issues with regards to connectivity itself (the app is buggy sometimes as its beta though). It was only on the Note 8 where even disabling the battery optimizations for Messenger (and other apps) still forced them to disconnect.
I have the same issue. My phone is Factory unlocked and from Malaysia, used with an American Sim card inside.
So I recently bought the Asian version
SM-N9500
Android 7.1.1
I also experience the issue. Took EVERYTHING off app optimize battery usage. Even took it off monitor list and added to white list. Delay is still there.
I've just downloaded an app off the play store called PNF No-Root which basically pushes every 5min (you can set different interval up to 1min) that syncs everything. So far i've gotten whatsapp msg 2m-3mins late but so far I can't figure out what else to do to fix this.
This is driving me insane when my entire business is built online and I need to respond ASAP.
Was this ever resolved? I'm worried the issues will carry through on the S9

I'm aware of these steps. The issue was on the Note 8, these steps were ineffective as opposed to the S7 / S8 series of devices where it worked just fine. I was wondering if this was ever resolved on the Note 8.

For resolved you mean that if it works in note 8? Well, it works fine with my 950F exynos 128 GB, in fact, vital systems app are not easily dozed, the likes such as chrome, keyboard, playstore, gallery, sms, gmail, etc

Ok it would be tough to test with you then. With Messenger, if Doze is enabled, the app will keep losing its connection and every time you open it, it would say connecting to network. With Doze disabled for Messenger, this problem goes away, except on the Note 8.
I was able to test a Canadian S9+ on Oreo, the issue does not seem to affect it. I am optimistic that the Oreo update for Note8 will address this.
Yes, it's not just the Note 8, I think and I strongly believe that the problem is related to the crappy nougat version 7.1.1., I had the very same problem (email not syncing, and delaying (lollipop and marshmallow don't have it!) even on pixel, opo 3t, and s8, all of them had Android 7.1.1., the problem was almost fixed on 7.1.2.
Now, had the pixel 2 xl, with Oreo, for a while, switch back to Note8, and the problem came along.
This is the main important reasons to make me update to Oreo on note 8

I almost figured it had to do with 7.1.1.

Yes it is working on mine (45mm version) here in the UK. I assume you received the firmware upgrade? Maybe try and completely reset the watch, if that fails maybe you have a faulty unit.
.
My 45mm watch in the UK works. However more often than not, it says it can't get a reading. I have a tight fitting silicon strap and have tried moving it along my wrist. I get the best results on the underside of my wrist. Some of the readings vary considerably so I'm not sure how accurate it is either.

Yeah works great on under side of wrist . I even shaved a patch off my wrist to test
I only once had a warning that the watch wasn't in the right place, I rested my elbow on the table, lifted my arm up so watch was level with my heart and that worked perfectly
.
Its been working fine since I did the under wrist test 1st maybe it just had to get a reading 1st

Mine is the UK non-LTE version, I got the update as soon as I connected it to the phone. Software version is:
R840XXU1BTG6
Which is the firmware that enables the SP02 sensor
.
You need to go into the galaxy store and update shealth app on the watch to get the sp02 to show
It did an update of stealth yesterday. Galaxy store now reports no updates available for the watch
---------- Post added at 08:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:20 AM ----------
Problem solved. Widget now appears in galaxy wearable app. Thanks all.
Which version of shealth are you running?
My shealth version is
Version 6.11.0.061
Updated date 10 Aug 2020
Size 86.35 MB
When i go to the about page in shealth it says there is an update available, however when I click on it shealth opens then just flashes there is no option to update the software.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled
Shealth
Galaxy wearable app
I have also reset the GW3 but I'm still having the same issue.
Thanks

Did you get the firmware update?
If not, do you have the LTE version? If so have you connected to a network that is in a country eligible for the sensor to be activated?
If not LTE, again can still depend on where you live.
Did you have an earlier model watch connected to your phone? I noticed it said update available even when there wasn't because it was still registering a previous Galaxy Watch. I deleted the SHealth cache AND data and that resolved.

Thanks for replying so quickly.
* I have the LTE Version
* I'm based in the UK
* when I first received the watch i paired it with my note 10 plus and the blood oxygen option was available and working on my watch.
* I have now switch to the note 20 ultra re paired the watch however the blood oxygen option is no longer available, I have cleared the cache/data in shealth, however its still not working.
*I have unpaired the GW3 from my note 10 plus, I have also reset the galaxy health app on the note 10 plus to see if that helps.
Still no luck....
Thanks

That's worrying! I am currently connected (Non LTE version) to my Note 10+ 5G and expecting my Note 20 Ultra to arrive this afternoon. The fact that it worked on your 10+ means that there's likely an imminent update to the Note 20 to allow it to work with that phone, unless anyone else reading this thread can confirm it works on the Note 20 for them? It could be a carrier issue, especially as there is a change of phone.
I will update this once I get my phone later and let you know.
One thing you might try, is to go into Samsung Backup/Restore on the Note 20 and select apps only, uncheck everything except the Health app and restore it. Samsung's own apps save the data along with the app itself, so it might just work.

So you have the SP02 sensor working on the watch/Note 20 without issue?
It seems to be a problem for those using the LTE version. I have seen other issues reported in this forum with that version, I nearly bought that one, kind of glad I didn't now.
