A lot of the times I can't use the gestures properly, it keeps missing, is this a hardware or software issue?
What touchscreen manufacturer you got? Is it fts for everyone?
Thanks,
I Have the same problem, i tried to disable double gestures but it doesnt change anything. Any solution? Maybe only some units have this problem?
Mine has problem when i want send voice messages on whatsapp
Cant tap on mic icon
I must open keyboard first to push mic icon higher
The same problem here, special at the right bottom, can't pick/hit enter/emojy button on my swift keyboard. So I guess it's a program thing, we need to report it to Xiaomi.

I'm finding that when im typing with the on-screen keyboard, im getting random characters appearing when it's IMPOSSIBLE that i've accidentally pressed them.
For example, i'll have the keyboard in standard view (a-z lowercase etc), and randomly the letters will be in upper case, or certain characters will appear like < or : ..... and these would have required me to press '123' then to have selected them.. there's no WAY they are 'accidental' presses......
Anyone had a similar problem? :S
I've had strange 'keypresses' when that have been caused by the screen protector.. you may want to try refitting it (if nothing else works first)
also try re-calibrating the screen...,had the same issue myself...a re-calibrate fixed the issue
Hi guys!
As the title says, the lower left part of the screen where the number part of the keyboard is not responsive (I used 3 different keyboard, LG default ICS kb, Perfect Kb, Smart Kb Pro, and uses T9 mode; running stock ICS; rooted). I just can't press it. Even the phone button, the one in the launcher isn't responsive to the touch.
Any ideas? Hope isn't a hardware problem..
Hello..
This doesn't sound good indeed..
You could try in TWRP recovery or an other touch recovery, and I think you'll be sure
Try to leave your phone off (maybe with battery out) and see what it gives .. :/
But sorry I can't think of a software bug :x the all screen works well or not, not just a corner can't work properly..
Or try a clean flash of a rom.
Hope this will solve your problem
I have a broken digitizer on mine and my screen only works on the bottom half. Here's how I found out that it's a hardware issue not the software.
Go to settings - Developer options.
Under Input, check "Show touches" and "Pointer location"
Touch and swipe at all locations on a blank screen. You'll see a pair of blue lines making a cross follow your finger. If it doesn't, then there is something wrong with your digitizer.
EDIT: Added screenshots to show you what I mean.
Oh interesting, I wouldn't think that a partial working screen would be possible ^^
So i use the on screen keys on my P10 but one thing that has been bugging me since i have it is the fingerprint sensor behaving like a home key, is there anyway to disable this? it's annoying when i'm on yt and a touch it unintentional and just goes to my homescreen

Are you sure it is not an app that is causing this?

yeah I don't have any app that uses my fingerprint scanner except to log into PayPal
Its a global bug, i have it too
I really hate this too. I use the fingerprint sensor everywhere possible and this is really, REALLY getting on my nerves. I'd go back to my own Xperia Z5 if this wouldn't be what my employer got me. The Z5 actually has a very, VERY good power/lock button with a fingerprint sensor that actually is usable for something else than screen unlocking. I've used Xperia's for years and after a few weeks I'm really starting to miss my Z5 - mostly because of this. And full waterproofing, covered by warranty.
Is it too hard to add a setting to disable the button completely to use it ONLY as a figerprint sensor? I want to use the default Android navigation bar, not some unique gesture thing. At least Sony's Android has been very conservative for years but this thing is like any Samsung with tons of bloatware and this crappy and useless fingerprint sensor acting as a home button unless you touch it just gently enough. And I'm forced to use this for work. AaaAAaarrgGgh!
Edit: And I have the P20 instead of the P10.
Same gripe here. I downgraded to Nougat and the bug is still there. Very annoying.
Bump. Anyone has a solution for this? (Other than flashing a trevle rom)
I have this problem too. So annoying?
Only solution is t use the offscreen navigation buttons. Then the fingerprint button functions well.
Press once is 1 step back, long press is home.
Swipe over the button to see active programs and change or close them.
When u are used to it, u don't wanna go back.
I found a solution. Install this specific app, enable it, then set all actions to "none".

My parents just called. I got them a Huawei Tablet. They asked me if they could still return it because of this annoying behaviour.
Will try the app that was mentioned. Thanks
Hello,
I have latency on the keyboard while taping on both side of the screen, I "fix" it by resizing the keyboard without touching the sides, but is there another fix ? I even feel it on the haptic feedback... Did somebody else have this problem ?
I have the same problem. Something feels "off" while typing and clicking on the side keys, like a little lag.
Does it only happen with Gboard? Could you try with another keyboard so that we can rule out a touch screen issue?

SwiftKey feel the same
Same here. Even though it's subtle, I noticed it immediately when I started using my pixel 5. Hopefully it's not a hardware fault.
EDIT: I also found this Reddit thread about the same problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/jodjzb/is_anyone_elses_pixel_5_keyboard_lagging/
It doesn't seems to have something to do with the side swipe back feature, the lag is still there with the 3 buttons navigations. Could it be something like a "prevent accidental side touch" feature ?
I created a bug report. Please star and provide feedback:

I've tried Swiftkey and Gboard, it's the same!! Lag!!
Please anyone, help me...
I had the same feeling at the beginning, I fixed it by setting the ignore accidental edge touch option (or something like that) to small area. The problem was that some touches, like the "a" or "q" weren't getting registered.
Same also the back button in navigation panel sometimes is not working
No issues with mine.
