Hello!
Since my last update N950FXXS5DSC6 my proximity sensor during calls stop working, so when I am talking on a phone call the display stays on.
Any ideas?
Try wipping your cache partition in Recovery mode. If that doesn't work backup your data and perform a hard factory reset.
Anyone know what the proximity sensor file is located or named so i can disable it?

Hi!
I've got a friend with a I9000, and she just started to get this problem with the proximity sensor. When she makes/recieves calls, the screen won't turn off. She has tried to restore settings, factory restore, and now I've even rooted the bugger. It still stays the same.. With every sensor tester, the sensor acts normal.. Any of you got a solution for this?
Thanks in advance =)
Dirt on sensor ??
Backup and factory reset is always first step .

Can't be dirt on the sensor either..It's sensing my finger from about an inch away from the sensor with the testing apps..
my touchscreen got cracked and i had to install a new screen assembly and probably the new screen has some problem with proximity sensor or while installing the proximity sensor got covered by the adhesive finally the proximity sensor shows up as always ON. i want to disable this completely. so how do i do this in z1. iam using the new kitkat build. the gsm.proximity.enable=false in build.prop isnt working. hardware disabler app dosent scan anything in / directory. and ive tried using xprivacy to block phone app from accessing the sensors it wont work either..as soon as i make a call the screen goes off the only way to get my screen on is when the other caller hangs up and the call has completely ended.
someone help me plz
hi guys. i recently replaced my cracked screen and after that i noticed that the auto rotate function isn't working properly. some times it's ok but sometimes like when i go to camera, and when I come back to menu, the screen is Locked on landscape mode and the only think I can do is to lock the device and unlock it to make the screen portrait.and after that i cant change the screen orientation att all unless i restart the phone.
Mostly the screen has a light that only noticeable in the quite dark place when the auto screen light is on after turning off the screen.
i had some problems with ambient light sensor and proximity sensor as well.
i once wiped the data i was thinking maybe it's a software problem but nothing changed
is it really a hardware problem? is the board or any parts damaged during the replacement?!
Same problem Here
I have the same problem, but it is with ambient light sensor and the proximity switch, when i go to the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) the proximity switch does not show up, when i press ambient light sensor it says ¨This device does not support this function¨.
This phone i just bought it a few this ago, i tried reseting customization, wiping data, flash another rom, Root... everything and no answer.
If u wipe and flash and still have the problem it is possible you have a hardware problem. Check all of ur water damage indicators to see if they are red. Also you could tell us your model.
Problem description :
recently, while in-call, the phone screen remains off ... I ran the tests from about phone, diagnostics and the proximity sensor test fails. it only works if I press slightly around the upper speaker area. It's very annoying
I don't have any screen protector on it and I have latest firmware (23.0.1.A.5.77)
I did reset to factory settings and the problem is still here
is this a software /firmware or hardware related issue ?
Please help.
Thank you
hi guys, i noticed that my phone's "lift to check" and "double tap to wake" aren't working sometimes, and the screen went black when i make a call. therefor i downloaded sensor test app and figure out those are caused by proximity sensor stopped working occasionally, especially when i take it out from my pocket, i had to restart my phone to make it works again.
i searched over the internet and tried all the ways but still no luck. Action taken included boot to safe mode, clear the cache of phone app/ google framework/ google services, android ambient and etc... and i also reset the app preference, download sensor calibration app, factory reset, yet, the problem still appear. i have used my phone for more than a year, and this issue was just suddenly poped out recently.
appreciated if anyone here could provide a solution. Thanks
