Just upgraded to Rooted KK from Rooted NB4 after a long and tedious process. Now the Home button will not wake the phone or take me back to home screen with single press. I am running Wanam Exposed and tried checking and unchecking "Disable wake HOME button" no joy there. Double press works, takes me to S-Voice. Long press takes me to background apps. So I know the button works. It just won't work with a single press! Anybody else having this issue? Anybody know of a fix? Is there a setting that I am overlooking? Phone works perfect other than that. It's just annoying!
Are you using another launcher? I'm using Nova Lancher over stock NC2, and they have a setting for what happens when pressing home once.
Or maybe your Wanam installation was screwed, it actually disabled home button on even though it's showing it's not. If this is the case, you might wanna try reinstalling xposed framework, and then reinstall wanam.

In that case, i would say fuc it and factory reset. Might have to get it flashed again if factory reset doesnt fix it. I had a wierd thing happen to me where I had to flash it twice to get things working properly.
Does anybody happen to have the system/usr/keylayout files so I can compare them to what I got. Just in case one of mine got screwed up?
Is there a way to turn off the google search bar that pops up when you press the home button. Ever since the OTA update this has happened and it's really annoying. I prefer the home button bringing you back to the home screen every time. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks

I have tried everything I know to try to fix it cleared app caches - factory reset - nothing. I know of five gs5 users affected by this - it seems to have happened the week following the 4.4.4 update.
I hate it
I, too, am having this same issue. I can't stand it!! I've tried everything I can think of and nothing fixes it. And, like you, it's been happening since this latest update. They need to fix it or provide us with a way to do it. I was about to reset my phone to factory settings when I saw this thread, and it looks like that won't help either.
I have read on a another website that restarting the device fixes it temporarily - but I have not seen this. Reached out to ATT on twitter, but haven't received any helpful response.
Restarting fixes it for me for a day or so.

Did an update on my google apps and it fixed it temporarily. Now it's back to sucking again...
When hold the button on 4.4.2, greenify comes up as an option, as well as do nothing. hitting this disables the function entirely. I'm not sure if this is an option on 4.4.4, and maybe it's because I have the donate version of greenify.
Edit:Saw on another thread there is an option in the system menu of Wanam to disable the long press entirely and mine is turned off
I think I found the fix. Go to App Manager>All, find Google Search and uninstall updates. Reboot your phone. It worked on my phone. I thinks the latest Google search update is the culprit. Also disable auto update in google play.

thanks
works great !!!
This is compete crap. That update screwed a few things up. Most annoying is this search problem. I tried the above suggestion, but I don't have anything in my app list titled "Google search". Not sure what the deal is. Any suggestions?
S5 on ATT 4.4.4
Edit...Uninstalled the update for the actual Google app and it might have fixed it. The restart was mandatory as it was still acting up even after removing the update.

Thank you, thank you! I thought I was going insane! I installed Dolphin Browser and thought that might have been the culprit but looks like it was a Google update. Uninstalled the updates and now it's not so dang sensitive.

Since the new update my phone has literally been crap. It's slow and lags on every app no matter if I am on wi-fi or my data. I looked through my application manager and could not find google search would it be under something else?
Thank you

If rooted, install wanam xposed module, then change long press home to do nothing. Solved.

Hi my gallery is lagging when i scroll up and down to the point the image arent showing up on the thumbnails
saw another thread that saying that it is due to the bixby remapping app, i indeed had that app before but it was a long time ago
tried to clean system cache and also the gallery cache yet no luck
anyone else have this problem and any solution for this?
edit: went to safe mode tried to open gallery app and scrolling on gallery is smooth, went back on normal boot then all is well..
no idea why this happened

From experience on previous android phones, after every major os upgrade its advisable to perform wipe (factory reset). I did after upgrading to oreo
This solves all weird minor problems such as this

I installed an OTA security update last night, and this morning tried using the Bixby button to launch phone. For over a month I have had Bixby button to launch phone on single press. Now when I single press, double press, or long press it does nothing.
Bixby Service and Bixby Voice Stub and Bixby Vision Framework are all installed. Am I missing something?
I also noticed this morning that the Galaxy Apps Store was not installed. I had it installed last night, and fully themed with Substratum and Swift Installer. This seems to be a smaller problem, because I had the apk of version 6.6.01.6 in my downloads folder, just needed to be installed.
Did the OTA somehow uninstall these apps, or is something else going on?

sounds like the update didn't go as planned.
i would suggest doing a factory reset and go from there. i always do rhis after an update anyways as it improves performance and battery life slightly.

I was hoping that a factory data reset wouldn't be necessary. This is primarily because some of the apps I have installed will permanently lose functionality If wiped from my system.

clear data on anything bixby in the system/apps menu.(choose app then storage then clear data)
+1 on wiping fone after updates
Just moments ago I got a forced OTA update from Samsung. Big one 2.5 gigs.
Went through and everything seems to be working perfect, except I can't get into my settings app.
The moment I tap it closes immediately.
Things I've done:
Cleared Settings App cache and Data. Restarted. Cleared Phone Cache from Boot Menu. Uninstalled Playstore updates. Tried a different launcher.
If I have to do a factory reset that's fine, but I would prefer not to. Anyone have any ideas?
