Hi I bought a Xiaomi Mi9 not even a month ago.
These days I found a really annoying problem, my Mi9 unlocks itself in my pocket. I state that I have done all the possible tests, that is with and without double tap, with and without unlocking via mi band4, with and without lifting option, password, fingerprint and face detection. Trying various combos (thinking that maybe some of them would conflict with each other) I arrive at the same conclusion. Start the emergency keypad on your own, or if I receive notifications it even opens me up or I find myself navigating through my apps.
This is the main problem.
I have found other problem, like if I talk at the phone, I put the auricle in the right ear, everything is ok, while if I move it in the left ear I no longer feel anything. (proximity sensor
defective ultrasonic?)
Another problem that perhaps seems to have solved was that of bluetooth devices, the saved devices menu was missing. With a reset I fixed the problem at the time.
The fingerprint detector every 10 attempts, 3-4 never go through if the screen is in total standby, while if you wake up the screen in any way and then use the fingerprint it always works.
The most important thing I would like to solve is that of unlocking in my pocket, it particularly bothers me. I read that in June they had to fix this option, optimize it, but apparently it doesn't seem improved. I know that here the pocket mode is automatically inserted compared to other devices. But apparently it doesn't work at all.
I have the device correctly updated.
Help me discover something more or at least solve this problem and sorry for my bad english i'm italian boy =P

Hi
Which firmware, rooted or unrooted?
I can recommend to root and use firmware of xiaomi.eu
If you have the latest firmware with pocket mode included your only two options to fix the pocket unlocking’s are: 1. Get at flip cover. 2. Delete all fingerprints and use another unlock option like face recognition or so. This will also get you noticeably better battery hours.
The speaker problem I think is a problem with the position. It is very critical that you put the tiny speaker hole exactly in front of your ear opening, a couple of millimetres aside will make the sound almost silent. This is if you by feel mean hear. Try to hold the phone at an angle out from you face with the upper part pointing to your ear and move the phone up and down to se if you can hear better.

Let me suggest a fix for the fingerprint issue.
Turn off the show "fingerprint on lockscreen option"
There really isn't a pocket mode for the mi9 because of the in-display fingerprint reader
About the "unlocking in your pocket" issue, I think you should try a different unlocked method, maybe a password to see if it's still there, and also ensure you don't have "On body detection" enabled in settings.
where did you buy it?

No, I bought it from an official seller of Xiaomi Hellas (Greece)
I replaced the Mi 9T Pro amoled display with a new original one, but the fingerprint doesn't work. The fingerprint sensor is still working, the problem is related to the calibration. I tried using the "Activity launcher" app to calibrate the sensor, I chose "In display fingerprint" then "SPMT", but this process failed when it asked to "Calibrate, put the FLESH CHART then click next" with error "0x14 the number of bad pixel is abnormal".
I know that "FLESH FLAT" means that I need to use a mirror on the fingerprint, but what does "FLESH CHART" mean?
Thank you
Here some screenshots and the difference between the two displays: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1lJ0_T0kMW3kOl-2Piy8vC9VUv2cUhLeG

I think that it's the original one, here a link https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1lJ0_T0kMW3kOl-2Piy8vC9VUv2cUhLeG to a photo gallery with the photo comparison between the two displays.
There is an official procedure to perform the fingerprint calibration?
Thank you
according to your photos it is not the original screen but an adaptable one. the reference is not the same look carefully ...
sorry I don't know the procedure ...

Thank you for your reply. I bought this spare parts on eBay. It was described as original AMOLED
About the reference, do you mean the code that is in the bottom of the screen on the gray tape?
At this point I will try to change it again... There is a shop where I can buy original spare parts? I know that this one is a good shop https://dragon-tt.com/Products.aspx?gid=95 but you need to wait some days for the shipment because they ship from China.
Thank you
I think that of your link is good however I do not know the difference between the beginning of the serial number JA and JC or JB ... Anyone know the difference or is it just a year or a place of production?

Dragon-tt give me this reply:
This item is 100% original new.
It recognize the fingerprint .
You can not start calibration process ,because you have no tool.
Only xiaomi have the tool to calibrate the finger print.
Our screen comes with JA.
I think it is not a problem.

it still seems weird to me. but if so then Xiaomi should be able to fix the problem with an update.
Have you tried to factory reseting the device?
Please let me know

I see that there are some topics with reports of the same problem, that is: difficulties with the fingerprint scanner after replacing the broken screen of an MI 9T / K20D [PRO].
A summary of the situation:
Until MIUI 11, the MI 9T / K20D [PRO] worked normally even when their screen was replaced by non-original screens with only 5 multitouch points, sometimes described as "tft" or "oled", including the fingerprint scanner.
Most of the screens available on internet sellers are of these types, and vendors often insist that they are original. The easiest way is to check the number of multitouch points, if it is not 10, it is not original.
After upgrading to MIUI 12, the fingerprint scanner of the MI 9T / K20D [PRO] equipped with these screens no longer works, restarting the device whenever trying to register a fingerprint. This is not a calibration problem.
The only solution found so far is to replace the non-original screen with an "AMOLED" screen, with 10 multitouch points, which is either original or at least has characteristics similar enough to the original to work.
This topic has a good explanation on that subject https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/miui-12-fingerprint-unlock-defective-t4122135
I hope it helps

Hi guys, after reading the last update in this thread, I tryed to install a clean Global ROM on my Mi 9T Pro, and it works, but due to the cheap quality of the new AMOLED, the recognition works 1 time on 8.
I followed this guide step by step, and if you open this link from a smartphone, turn on the "Desktop Mode" otherwise you will see a blank page: https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2 - to follow the guide you need a Windows PC -.
If you need to unlock the device, first you will need to turn on the "Developer options", go into the "Mi Unlock status" menu, and bind the Xiaomi Account with the unlocker. Of course, you will need the Xiaomi Account password.
Ater the unlock, according to the guide that I linked before, the device will reboot, but sometimes it stops on the coloured "MIUI" logo. So after 5 minutes without any change, I turned off the device pressing the power button, and then it rebooted correctly. After the first reboot, it asked me to add again the Xiaomi Account password, because the device was already paired with an account. At this point it booted, and I turned off the device before selecting the system language, and I continued to follow the linked guide from the STEP 3.
The nice thing is that the fingerprint works again, unfortunately the bad quality of the display cannot be fixed without replacing it again.
Thank you for your help guys.

DEAR SIR I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND FOLLOWED your procedure but no result.
I bought an AMOLED screen manufactured by Samsung, complete with frame, supports 10 touch points, with color quality and contrast very similar to the original screen of my Mi 9T. At first it is a good display, the seller has guaranteed that it is of Original / OEM quality. Here is the link to the part I bought: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000156095854.html
The only problem is that biometric recognition does not work on MIUI 12! The sensor registers my fingerprint but the phone does not unlock with it. I've tried to downgrade to MIUI 11 and it didn't work either. Any solution?
same situation but the one I got is branded OLED instead of an AMOLED one. I wish there's a way to calibrate the fingerprint as I registered the same finger thrice for accuracy but it still doesn't detect properly.

You can try to follow what I have done here. But, if you didn't bought the original spare part, you will probably be unable to use the fingerprint scanner due to the bad quality of the display.
It worked either you replaced original (10 or 5 finger touch support) Theres a tricky way to make it done.
Xda user from iran n india successfull fod
I was setting my P20 Pro up as a spare phone today and when I went to setup fingerprint scanning, the option to do it was no longer there (Biometrics and password section). I checked out the Security and Privacy settings just to be sure, and it does look as if fingerprint scanning is not available anymore. The home button function doesn't work either.
I've seen people complaining that this has happened with other Huawei phones, usually after a software update. Huawei recommends restarting and resetting the phone to see if this fixes it, but it doesn't on mine.
Has anyone else had this problem with the P20 Pro, or any other Huawei fingerprint scanner equipped phone? Does it seem to be a hardware or software issue? What fixes are there?
Does anyone know what is the compatibility trick behind Huawei P30 Pro fingerprint sensor?
I have got issues with mine. After screen replacement it worked fine, until the microphone stopped working at the bottom board. So i went for a new one.And there the fingerprint issue started.I cant enroll a fingerprint.
I went for another board, new sensors, new main flex.It simply does not work, recognizes it,but does not work.Calibration tools and softwares did neither work.Tried to update/reset,also unsuccessfull. Actually it worked perfectly once, read the fingerprint perfectly, but after restart did not work again.
So,i am stuck... I know in the past i have replaced screens and sensors on P30 and P30 Pro without similar issues.
Is there an trick or must i bring it to Huawei centre to pair the hardware?
Hi,
Did you find a solution for this issue yet? I'm about to replace the fingerprint sensor, but cannot find how I can calibrate the fingerprint sensor afterwards. There seems to be some software app by Huawei which can start the calibration proces but it's nowhere to be found.
Anyone?

Great for you, i will try that for sure in the near future, but can you please explain what do you mean by original rom? The one that was first on the phone when was sold? Or you used emui 12?

Well, i was waiting to get answer from joaofbc but no answer, i didn't try anything on my own, i use phone daily and didn't want to mess it, but face recognition is working fine so i don't care about fingerprint that much.
Hi,
Since i've updated my Oppo Find X5 Pro on Android 13, i have this issue:
I can unlock my phone with fingerprint only one day or two. After that, the fingerprint icon disappear from the unlick screen and I have to reboot my phone to make it work again.
It's a strange issue because i still can open apps with fingerprint...
Do you have any idea to help me?

the fp icon come bigger and wrong position of lightling sensor.
after reboot it work fine now, even though i change any lock screen setting.
I determined it was lock screen bug.

Nope, the only fix I've found, is buying a galaxy s23 Ultra
