moon capture x50 real or fake - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

I would like to ask of someone can translate the video in this link , and explain to us the result for this ,is it real or fake the moon pictures @50x zoom ?? Like the one i take from my phone

It looks almost the same with your picture and all the moon pictures taken by the p30 pro so am guessing its real.

Here's some of mine at different zooms.

Is real

As blurry as the Moon looks when shot at the 50x pixel interpolated mode, it has to be real. Faking in more sharp detail would look off and unrealistic.

Cheers for the info. Why are some of the images not full resolution from Flickr? And why do some contain 'Lightroom' in the exif?

That's an issue with Flickr. Not sure why, but from a phone they dont upload full res I think. Lightroom mobile is used by me for all photos. You should try it, the free version of Lightroom mobile is excellent, one of the best at straightening a shot even if its just 0.1 adjustment.

Was tried that couple of days ago. Was very excited when it opens, but seconds after that freeze. On mine old phone use gCam regularly and have better results. Idk whats the problem with Kirin? Why devs didn't make and for Kirin soc? Sources or something else?!

really bad on Honor Play was working good and only a bit of settings modify was needed! Night Sight was working too but with artefacts on shadows.
Yeah Huawei / Honor now is like Apple, totally closed system ( only way to unlock is to pay a lot of money )
kirin is a custom and closed source, not supporting camera api2 stock that is needed for FULL mode gcam to work, gcam was born for google pixel on qualcomm board. Ports on Exynos and Kirin are only partially working, can't fully benefit of gcam.
For modding better stick with Qualcomm CPU and an unlockable phone with easy ( like xiaomi, oneplus )
That way I am waiting for selling this phone and get xiaomi . never back to huawei

Moto G6 plus... My nephew have one and in some situations camera is better than Mate 20 Lite's one. Its a Qualcomm device so will be able to install gCam for alternative. Its decent phone general.
Other than that Mate 20 Lite is not bad at all. Camera is good especially in pro mode on low levels iso, around 125-250, takes crisp and detailed photos. Most of the time i use spot metering and auto wb. Shutter speed depending. Have good burst mode also. Its a aspherical lens and takes nice pleasant colors. Great resolution, 20mpx are great to crop images. Its not exactly "Point and shoot" type camera if you need such. You must play bit with settings to get maximum of the sensor but to me is good enough. Video is not something that is important to me. Its a 1080p 60/30fps recommend to stay with 30fps bcoz have EIS. Generally it take some time to me, to get accustomed with camera but now i enjoy it! Take time to search and try different devices, read and watch reviews and pick right for you needs to avoid disappointment...

Night Mode Fuzzy During Pitch-black Scenario

I got the p30 pro couple of days ago. So far nothing much to complain as i've used the mate 20 pro as well so there's not much of a difference in the UI and stuff.
One thing i noticed though, i thought the p30 pro was able to see in pure darkness from all the reviews and **** on youtube but that doesn't seem to be the case though. Not sure if it's a problem with my unit or the same for the rest. Also worth noting that im on the 9.1.0.124 firmware. I guess that's the latest
Would appreciate it if anyone else can share their input on this. Attaching snapshots below. Thanks.

It can’t be pitch black. You must have some kind of light source but it does not need much to make its magic. I tested and could barley see anything in my bedroom. The iPhone gave me a black picture and the P30 Pro took a picture like it was daylight
Mine also doesnt capture anything in the dark.

Panoramic Super Wide angle photo

Hi to all
I hear that P30 Pro can now capture Panoramic photo with Super Wide Angle. (like S10+)
But no one post some panoramic photos with super wide angle. Pleaee can someone post few photos?
Thx
No options in Panorama mode on mine (currently). Only way would be to take a series of individual pictures using wide angle and stitch together through Google Photos or similar
Can someone open Panorama mode, and try to zoom out with fingers, so you can get ultra wide camera panorama.
I didn't see after 1 month no one that take PANORAMA photo with Ultra Wide camera.

Huawei P30 Pro slow motion.

Hello guys,
I'm wondering about buying this year flagship from Huawei, but i'm very concerned about quality of slow motion videos, it looks really weak comparing to Galaxy S10. Do you think that P30 Pro will get any update that will repair/improve recording videos in slow motion ? Please write your thoughts about that. Best Regards.
I'll just say it, slomo is sht. At 120fps is pretty decent. Anything higher and it looks muddy and doesn't focus. If you kinda care about video recording, maybe wait for the s10 5g. It'll be the one to beat for now.

Yes, it isn't that bad, and actually focuses correctly.
As above, the slow mo is pants compared to other cameras. It doesn't record at 960fps properly, it actually records at 240fps and then interpolates the missing frames.
It can be best witnessed with something rotating. For example I shot this example video of a fidget spinner: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ET1X4yPteuCpkJ8d7
As you can see when the slow mo kicks in, the surrounding areas of movement are a little blurry because the software is doing what it can. Admittedly, for an interpolated video it's quite impressive, but compared to a 'full-fat' 960fps video it just looks lack-lustre.

It's the same movie in both links
I got the same problem.
120FPS the video looks sharp, but if I choose 240 or 960fps the video is not sharp and I can't sharpen the video even if I touch the screen.
Maybe the next update will solve this problem.

It depends on what you're filming. If you find something close up (like a fidget spinner) the quality issues are visible.

As a comparison, this is a video I shot on the Xperia XZ Premium in 2017 - the first 960fps phone camera - and it's all so much smoother and crisp.
The Huawei technology (despite supposedly using the Sony sensor) isn't half as good IMO.

P30 pro vs gcam of other phones

I've seen posts in photographers forums that the P30 pro is not so useful for cropping because it blurs the details after one zooms in. In fact, one person said LG V30 with gcam is better than p30 pro but he didnt provide images for comparison.
Has anyone tried to do a side by side comparison of p30 pro vs gcam of other phones in terms of cropping? I prefer to always zoom in and see architectural features e.g. Islamic mosaics etc. Cheers.

Unfortunately there's GCam far away better than P30 PRO, specially for people pictures.
I have a friend with a Redmi Note 7 with GCam and the level of details is impressive.
What I also don't understand is why can't the app switch to wide angle items with 40mp setting... Any workaround for that?
Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk
The truth is P30 pro has very good camera. Just nothing (yet) can't quite compare to the gcam result. Google is using their own digital processing zoom (super Res zoom) which is excellent. If you compare for example stock v30 camera results with this from p30 pro - I will give the prize to Huawei .
And about using wide angle with 40mp...ummm the wide angle lens is not 40mp, that's why. Or I don't understand the post properly.
If you want the best quality use profesional mode, the best resolution (20mp-0.6x, 40mp-1x and 8mp-5x) and raw with all lens.
Only work in 0.6x 1x and 5x
And also you can use open camera (but only 1x lens) and gcam (not 100% work) %

Yes that True, P30 Pro really terrible in People Picture and their portrait for people also easy beaten by GCam (Pixel Family) :crying:, for me P30 Pro king on LOW LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY.....
Thanks all for replying. HDJ80, can you provide some pics for a comparison to other phones with gcam?
