so i am using the verizon note 8 on straight talk. when i connect to wifi everything is fine for a few minutes. top of phone says verizon on lock screen. after a while off having wifi on the phone will say searching for service. can't make calls or do any texting. When this happens the 4G signal goes away and only the wifi signal shows. i turn off wifi and service returns. i've tried searching for answers and i've talked to straight talk many times about this but they have no idea. I am on the latest update. Model number is SM-N95OU.
i've reset network settings. i've factory reset the phone on 4-30. i got the phone right when the 9.0 update came out so i can't compare to how it all worked on Oreo.
has anybody been having any issues with the 9.0 update?
Have you tried Wiping The Cache Partition in Recovery Mode? If that doesn't work backup your device and perform a hard factory reset.

Hi,
I have purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy GT - I9000 phone from US for use in India. Soon after purchase, I inserted my SIM - it worked perfectly, I could send and recieve calls and access data connection. However, I was facing a problem where in I could not register my google account - I searched several forums, which suggested hard reset and which I did.
But after hard reset, I am getting zero signal strength constantly. I have confirmed that phone was unlocked when I bought and is even unlocked now. I do see my network operator name when I pull down the notification window from the top bar. However, the blue zero signal strength constantly appears. I have tried following
1. Resetting network selection, searching networks.
2. Inserting, removing battery/SIM several times. The SIM works fine on other phones.
3. Confirming that phone is unlocked by pressing *#7465625#. All are showing off.
I goofed big time. Bricked my moto g yesterday trying to get myself lollipop. It was stuck in a bootloop of some sorts.
I came home after a long day, and quickly fixed it not really paying attention to what I was doing, everything worked fine, I could text use wifi, etc.
Woke up. Tired to install lollipop again, didn't even stop to think about a backup(got the phone yesterday) and now everything works... BUT my network... The phone reads that there is a SIM card, it just can't connect.
I had to revert back to "stock" following some post on here, can't remember exactly which, except it used mfastboot.exe.
Now I'm on 4.4.4 rooted with TWRP, and if it helps i have the xt1064 model.
I must say this phone has probably been thoroughly wiped in just two days
TL;DR Phone reads SIM card, wont connect to network, "no service" -- XT1064 rooted with TWRP -- 4.4.4
Edit: If I try to make a phone call it tells me to turn off airplane mode.
Edit: In about phone, I have a phone number and an IMEI number, but mobile network and mobile netowrk type are unknown and mobile network state is disconnected. Service state is radio off for voice and data.
It has been few days that I lost network connection (3g,+H....).
I see 3g crossed when I turn off data connection, but when I turn it on, nothing is happening..no internet connection, and no sign shown. I have dual sim Moto G. I have try factory reset and playing with aero mode, *#*#4636#*#* service code, nothing help me. Wifi working is good.
Hi guys, I have an issue with 4G after the last dec update. In 4G/3G/2G auto connect mode, usually the receiving data arrow ( v arrow below the 4G symbol in notification bar) gone missing and thus the connection got lost. Only transmitting arrow is visible (the ^ one). I have to wait for some minutes or turn to flight mode and back to get my data connection back.
In the beginning I don't really sure this issue is caused by the latest update, but after I tried nearly everything, including factory reset which is doesn't help, I think that the update is the problem.
I have tried my sim on another phone and it worked normally. I have tried another sim on my note 8 and it got the same problem.
Oh and this is only a 4G issue. My 3G works normally. And before the update, I never experienced this kind of problem.
Two of my friends got the same note 8 and one of them is also using the same carrier as me, but neither of them experiencing this issue.
Anyone can help?
Thanks in advance
I had this issue too, it seems 4g connection only got the problem...,
Problem solved, they replace my device
I have the same problem but seems like in a different way, when I got the phone first time I contacted my service provider to activate the 4G service cause it was inactive on my line due to provider's issues, anyway the phone worked on 4G for only 2 days, after that it kept working on 3G, I contacted the service provider many times but they have no issues with my SIM or handset.
I still don't know what is the problem, is it a hardware malfunction? Is it an installed app? Is it a Samsung Update? I don't know!
have tried getting a replacement sim card, I had same problem in the past and they had by mistake sent a sim that was not 4g, got replacement and problem solved
Well, the problem is that it worked at the fist time on 4G so the SIM was 4G not 3G, but I have just comeback from their store, at the first the technical support did something in their system and switched the phone to airplane mode then turn the network ON back and the deice worked on 4G but after a couple of minutes the phone switched to 3G without going back to 4G, then he advised me that this problem either a SIM or handset problem and it's always 90% SIM problem, so we changed the SIM card and the phone is working on 4G for around 30 minutes till now, I hope it will keep working on 4G
2 days and phone is still working on 4G, it was a SIM card problem
Aoa dear
I.have the issue of secure folder as its not there in my cell phone and when i install it from play store and open it but failed to open as it give the option knox mode failed
Hi I reset my Note 8 because after using this thing for a year and half, with all the security updates, my GPS location would stop working mid drive or my push notifications would stop working.
I booted into recovery and factory reset my phone. Now the phone won't work with mobile data. Well it only works with mobile data when I am on a phone call and my signal switches from LTE to 4G. THis is the most bizzare thing I have ever seen. I only get internet when I am on a phone call
This is supposed to be the opposite behavior. I've called Metro and they couldn't help me. I suspect this might be some weird Google Security issue. I can't seem to find anyone with the same issue I am having. I have tried all sorts of settings and now just reset my phone to factory again and I am getting the same issue
Hi guys, i have a problem with my Galaxy S23.
I am connected to wifi at home and mobile data on. But, when i turn off the wifi, the mobile data does not activate. I've checked the APN settings, i call the provider, i reset the network settings ... same issue.
Mobile data is activating only if i call to a short number like *100#. If i don't dial, even the mobile data toggle is on there is no connection.
Can you please help me !
Have you tried a factory reset?
This is the only thing i don't want to do, because i'm going to lose my eSim's.

Fairly certain this shouldn't matter. I think they stay when you reset the phone. You might want to research this more.
Ok, so i did a factory reset. Nothing changed. However, i found an option in developer mode "mobile data always active". This is keeping the data on even if wifi is connected. It is running ok now, but, the battery consumption is a bit higher.
Hi guys,
I'm from Brazil and I'm having the same issue on my S23 ultra.
I use 1 eSIM from Vivo and a SIM from TIM.
When I'm using the mobile data, sometimes it doesn't work even the 4G or 5G are on.
I tried switch between carrier (Tim and Vivo) and both show 4G sign and doesn't work.
There are two ways to restore the mobile data, restart the phone or turn off and turn on the airplane mode. But after some minutes the problem continues.
I went to a Samsung Store and they put a new and clean OS, but after 1 day the problem started again.
I searched about it and I couldn't find a fix to this problem.
I will try to use only SIM and not use eSIM. I read some articles that the T-Mobile was having same issues.
I think it is a chronic problem. Maybe they need a recall or a new update to fix this issue.
Does any know how to fix this problem?
I have 2 SIMs because there are some places that I work that only 1 carrier works.
Problem solved.
I went to the provider and replaced the sim card with a new one. Now it's working without any issues.
