XDA Duplicate with gibberish URL ( Probably a phishing site? ) - Off-topic

Was searching to how to install substratum on much lineageos14.1, came upon this: dx66cje4yagq2fphykw0k5fq.bigcomrnerce.com
It's XDA... Although that gibberish got me worried

That's a form of a "pay per click" website...
What it does is stores website information in a Metadata state with an applied url and then, after someone Google's something, it will pop in the results to attempt to get an individual to go to their link.
It's hard to explain but, those types of websites can, potentially, try to obtain what information they can get via the IP address of the individual.
I did notice that it's considered an "At Risk" website and should be avoided as much as possible.
I'm sure @MikeChannon would like to take note of this to investigate to have it added to the Blacklist of website URL's on XDA.
Thank you very much for bringing this to the attention of XDA!
Keep in mind that, if you see any XDA Forum Search Results that doesn't begin with "https://forum.xda-developers.com" to stay away from it.

Yup, noted and we'll see what we can do to stop it.

Why is there no APP for XDA?

I am, by no close means, knowledgeable enough to create an app on my own, despite my few recent time-restrained attempts to learn. I would think, considering how much this forum is used for android, that there would have been an app created that would make it easier to browse the vast ocean of knowledge that it has to offer. Perhaps an option where you can cache certain posts for faster/offline loading, or "watch" a post and get a notification when someone replies to it. I wouldn't even know how to begin doing this. Anyone agree?
Try this for now : http://mippin.com/web/index.jsp
Yes
This would be a great idea to create an app for xda
It would also be great if people asked their questions in the Questions&Answers forum
Wrong section bro.
But your concept does sound pretty cool.
good idea good luck with it
Visit this site on the phone and Bookmark it.

Early Christmas present. Only issue is it does post them in the exact same way as the forum. It simply posts the newest posted thread.

A:
Because people refuse to post questiona in the QUESTION and answer forums
lol to you guys only *****inig about the forum it was posted in, I think the first post doing so was sufficient so please stop racking up the post count with garbage.
Secondly to answer this guys question... I've tried to contact the site about any sort of API to create a standalone app for this place but had no success in that.
So the fastest and most organized thing at the moment would probably be to just use the browser.
Thanks for all the posts!
Thanks for all the great feedback on my question. I'll make sure next time, I will post in the correct forum. But thanks all those who mentioned that for being so..."tactful" about it. I'll try to not to displease the gods next time.
if anyone ever makes one make sure to let me know!

A simplified way to connect all developers, share work, etc

Before a forum mod even thinks of taking this down- I've been in contract with Svetius and this may go live across XDA.
I would like to beta test here- and give developers and others a good example of what we can accomplish- as a collective.
I'll simplify for anyone who wants to jump in- click one of the following links, and if you don't get it, read on:
This is a link to the view only version, with ability to comment..
https://docs.google.com/document/d/...MZAPx-mLF8tnXPmBV2V7fRo/edit?usp=docslist_api
Here is the developers/contributor linkhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/...MZAPx-mLF8tnXPmBV2V7fRo/edit?usp=docslist_api DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK IF YOUR NOT ACTIVELY DEVELOPING OR CONTRIBUTING- I DO HAVE WAYS TO REMOVE PEOPLE IF THEY TAKE AWAY FROM PROJECT!
If someone else wants to create a new document, please include a link to this instruction document I've already created.
If no one else jumps on creating a development document for unified s5, I will create and post the edit and view/comment links in second post, or add your document if you choose too
I will update and add to this post this morning- please allow me to get second post
As of this moment, developers, recognized contributors, or users are disconnected- and you may not have the time to go hunting each other down, or answer 500 PMS.
This is my effort to connect developers- it is a LIVE document, and it uses your Google account to grant the level of access you need. Because it is a live document, you will see AS other people type. I can give non-devs the ability to view and comment only- but in that way, even they may be able to contribute.
There's a built in chat box.
It automatically tracks who makes changes so no credit has to be given for your work, or you can create a document you own and paste the link in my document. This is how we create a "tree" of organized data..
Links do NOT BREAK.. So even of you move the document in your personal folders, any link you put into my or any other document will work. Period. I've tested this over 4-5 years, and I'm sure of this.
The same way it tracks changes, you can revert to old versions.. So if someone accidentally selected all and hit backspace, by accident or as a jerk, in a few clicks I can put it all back.
I've been taking to mods and development teams here at XDA, and we are going to be doing this XDA wide, or at least that's how it is looking - this reduces devs duplicating work, because it is Google document, it requires no sign up, it's probably on all your devices or easy to download..
Of we start sharing and get or section done, it will give a good example at how all other subgroups can do there's.
The link in my signature(amaze Bible) shows how robust these Google docs can get. Here is a link if you can't see it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679486

I will add edit and view/comment links here in a few moments

This third post will contain a table of contents once documents start taking shape.
Please help this project, as connecting developers, contributors, and users will help us all!
But I've been asked to make sure this doesn't REPLACE XDA.. So if you have any posts that may be helpful already on XDA - LINK BACK TO IT.
If this goes XDA wide, they may be able to integrate this into XDA with backbend tools.. This could get really cool really fast. Pm or post you're questions or comments- but follow the development section rules!

Follow yes, even help if possible
Click the edit link and go to the bottom where I put examples where I see this going.. You can comment (it explains how in the Google doc) if you don't want to change the doc itself.. So make suggestions, or even help me message a link to this thread to developers.. Because as I said, I've already been getting a pretty positive response from the top mod and his development team..
If we can show them this works and well, it will only help them see maybe this can be a priority.
I'm going to connect them with some backbend tools Google put out to integrate this into the site- so I need our XDA community collective to do/offer whatever they can to get or beta test product into something useful.
As a bonus, as easy as it is to link to docs, and link back to XDA.. We can reduce the number of duplicate questions, need for q&a threads, and the number of messages that developers get!
Even me, a recognized contributor- the more active I am, the more PMs I get..
So come on XDA collective- help me make this work!
It is now robust on a computer, but you can do 90% of this on any Google device you can install apps on
Sent from my SM-G900A using XDA Free mobile app
The amaze 4g is definitely a dated device, but we did this for that forum.. It helped a ton
Please, look at this example amaze 4g Bible and click the links in the take of contents which take you to the Google dochttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679486
I'd like this and more, stepped up a notch, connecting developers- maybe even creating new ones that we allow view/comment access..

BUMP.
I edited original post- if you're a Dev click the second link, if you want to contribute in some way, click the appropriate link.
You literally click the link, on just about any device, especially anything android or a computer- and you're in, and able to contribute. No sign up. No wasted time.
This is EASY as it gets, but I can't make anyone do this.. This is about us collaborating and helping each other, unifying developers in one place - and REDUCING WORK.. Because I'm seeing a lot of developers doing the same thing, and it is called work duplication.. And time that need not be wasted if you all work together.
On top of that, if I and other contributors, official or not, can be part of the process.. Well, think of it as processing power.
Please give it a try, and let's build a team.
for developers and contributors in the unified s5 forum - please check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2997834
I'm trying to increase our collaboration, reduce duplication of work- and maybe even help out a few devs that just don't know your secret Fix's

Always very difficult to find stable version of SuperSU

Hello.
While I very much appreciate the utility of this free app, it is extraordinarily difficult to ever find the current stable version of the app.
Thanks.

As with most of your posts, this can be answered by using the search function of XDA as well as Google would answer your questions. Stable versions will me marked stable and others will say alpha, beta, wip, ...etc. Even looking in the specific thread for your device should point you to the current working version for your divice/ROM.

It sounds you are the standard community regular who has at in no time within recent years ever tried to find the current stable version of SuperSU. You just assume that everyone in existence should automatically know to come to the XDA Developers forum.
Unfortunately, I have very low Internet points, so you and everyone else can safely ignore everything I type here, because the only thing I do have is a credit card, it will never be used to help anyone with SuperSU.

Whenever I flash a ROM I usually make sure root is the most current, especially if I am running systemless root. It can easily be downloaded from his site or from is threads here on XDA. So that makes your statement at best completely false and at worst rude.
I don't expect someone new to know everything, but what is expected in this community is to follow the rules. One of which is to use the search function before starting a thread. Especially on a topic that is universal to most phones, thus discussed at great length.

Quite honestly no one cares about your credit card. People don't develop and mod on XDA for a profit, they do it for fun/experience/because they can. Makes you sound like an angry child when you threaten to "take your ball and go home"

Yeah, don't know why I bothered to try and communicate that people NOT IN THE XDA FORUMS have a really hard time finding the latest stable version. Certainly a concept you cannot grasp.
And I do wonder why so many devs in other forums kindly ask for donations. I guess all those thousands of dollars I've spent for over-priced T-shirts, coffee mugs, and stickers that never even get applied to anything aren't appreciated by anyone, because they are just doing it all for charity.
Go pollute some different thread with you hate.

Not completely clear your involvement with SuperSU, but you seem to speak for them, and none of them are saying otherwise. The money I contributed to developers and projects were all completely voluntary. It's really amazing I have to spell that out for you. I won't contribute one penny to SuperSU, unless someone from there wants to denounce your claim to speak for them.

Unlock locked frp Huawei p30 pro..

Hey guys!
I'm sure there is a lot of posts like this one but I couldn't find the right one so if someone finds it please share
So my problem is that my dad bought a Huawei p30 pro (Vog-l29) and little did he know about the google account.. I did a factory reset and now I'm stuck.. Any ideas how to fix it?
I'm far from pro in doing stuff like this but I'm familiar with a lot of ways so if some one with more experience could just point me in the right direction with names of programs and files I would be very thankful! I've read a lot of ways to do it but then they mention that it won't unlock it.. I have a USB cable for it and a Windows computer, do I need something else?
Would really appreciate some help!
Thanks in advance!
Ask your father his password and 'voilà'.. You'll be good to go!

Funny one! The Google account belong to the seller.. Didn't think that was hard to get, so yeah asking my dad won't help.
Please can I get some helpful answers..
LoL you're welcome (^_-)
Usually, looking for frp bypass means a lot things...
If not, just try 'frp' on the search bar, there's subjects about.
And, of course, you could also go to an official repair center : they'll unlock it for you.
Good day

I've already tried to search around but I don't get everything I read about it, like I said I'm far from pro in this area.

Hi. I guess the easiest way is to flash the factory image to the phone.
Look here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...orial-vog-l29-flash-firmware-153-usb-t3928793
When I flash new firmware my Google account is gone and I have to enter my information to start the phone with my account.
Its not that hard to flash the firmware. Follow The guide.

You must have online emails and ebay or whichever site you used logs from the sale/purchase, phone number of the seller had to come from somewhere
How did you pay for it? Bank transfer/Paypal, both have paper trails/logs of the seller
Find it hard to believe you have 0 proof of purchase and 0 methods of contacting the seller

Next time don't buy dodge phones (likely stolen) from random FB people, there's usually a reason why FRP is locked

I know, my dad didn't know about this, he thought it was like the old days when people still were honest..
Probably doesn't matter anyway, even if you did get back into it, if it is stolen it will soon be IMEI blacklisted and be useless as a phone in your country
Thread cleaned up a bit.
First of all, xda does allow threads regarding FRP bypass as long as it's clearly not for illegal purposes.
Second, if you think it IS for illegal purposes, report it! Don't reply as if you are a Moderator of this site or flame the member. This could land you in hot water.
I'll quote some of the rules here since it's MY job to do so:
2. Member conduct.
2.3 Flaming / Lack of respect: XDA is about sharing and this does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) or rudeness. Flaming or posting with a lack of respect is unacceptable. Treat new members in the manner in which you would like to have been treated when you were a new member. When dealing with any member, provide them with guidance, advice and instructions when you can, showing them respect and courtesy. Never post in a demanding, argumentative, disrespectful or self-righteous manner.
2.5 All members are expected to read and adhere to the XDA rules.
10. Help others if you can.
If you see posts from others where you can help out, please do so. This place exists because people are helping each other, and even if you are relatively new to the matter, there's probably quite a few people with less experience than you, who could benefit from what you've learned. Don't be shy.

I think this is where the confusion is coming from, there seems to be different rules per device forum

Having been Samsung for years I've had it drummed into my head that 'any' talk of FRP bypassing is against XDA rules

Thanks but that post is actually incorrect. I assure you we do allow them unless it's clearly breaking the law. It all stems from the introduction of FRP when devices were being sold without the Google account being properly removed. Many users found themselves in this exact situation. They purchased a device that had been simply factory reset. Which was enough before the introduction of FRP but now when they set up their newly purchased device, they are asked for the previous owner's password.
Therefore xda has allowed these threads as well as the actual methods of bypass to be posted. There are legitimate uses.

Thanks for clearing it up
Bypass the huawei p30 lite frp. MAR-LX1M.
Has anyone found anything ?

Greetings.

Hello everyone.
Got word there was a newish forum around here, I'm talking about Computing of course, and decided to give it a try.
XDA is known for being a forum about smartphones and I don't have one, heh. I know how they work and how to repair them though, I'm not fond of smart/IoT devices in general, privacy and planned obsolescence are the main causes, also the fact that I have no use for one, already have a dumb phone to talk to family and friends, no social media, we don't even watch TV (radio gang, report in) at home so it'd be sort of useless to spend money on something that has no use.
Anyway, name's there, I'm sort of a hardware nut but also enjoy tinkering with whatever lands on my workshop, it's a side gig though as I work in IT, also volunteer at a recycling plant to find all kind of things that only need a few minor repairs to be in working condition again, it's fixed and then donated to the needy.
Other than that I like restoring and refurbishing old stuff, and if it can't be repaired I recycle them into something else and sell it, guess my taste comes from the fact I live in an old house, with a basement full of antique things from my grandparents, looks like my grandpa was the same as me and liked tinkering around with things, he's left me boxes full of all kind of spare parts, tools and curiosities that are hard to come by nowadays, so instead of playing with dolls and makeup when I was a kid I was more into making simple electrical circuits, lamps, soldering irons and later building my first computer out of scrap parts, a mighty K6 with a 1GB hard drive, 9" monochrome monitor and DOS, this was all obsolete when I build it, but it was the real it ain't much but it's mine.
So that's that.

If it's something else I probably can't access to it yet because of my newbie account.

When this forum ran on vBulletin, we had a "thanks" button. Unfortunately, our migration to Xenforo removed that functionality. You can react to posts, but for the time being we cannot "thank" posts. I believe some threads allow up/downvoting but this has not been implemented sitewide.
