Hello, everyone!
I have a Motorola One Power that works perfectly in every possible way.
But below the screen, it says
"MOTOROLA CONFIDENTIAL PROPERTY: NOT FOR SALE"
I am pretty sure the bootloader is in engineering mode. It is unlocked but not in the conventional way. When I start this device, it says that the bootloader is unlocked.
My question is, how can I unlock the bootloader on this device the "normal" way?

Check for system in settings. Here you will find developer option ( if not their then in about phone click seven times on build number) here you will find option for unlock or lock bootloader.
The button is disabled and it says that the bootloader is already unlocked.

Try one more time in safe mode and if still not work then try to reset your phone

For safe mode long press power button and then long press power off option and then click on ok option and now your phone will restart in safe mode with all third party apps disabled ( No data will be lost so don't care about it) and then try to access bootloader option.

I have the same phone. Samsung Exynos chip. Comes up with a load of boot info every reboot. Factory reset does nothing. I have asked some of the phone shops and got different responses but one thing I do know is these phones are very rare. They say not for sale for a good reason. They are engineers phones and from what I gather can be particularly valuable to a particular set of people. High level law breakers. Drug dealers, fraudsters etc. They are encrypted in some form and I know they are capable of end to end encrypted calls. The only way to reset this phone would be to flash android 9 on to it from a pc. Lenovo(basically the owners of Motorola) offer an all in one service, instead of having to download multiple programs to flash a new OS. The phone itself is quite powerful, well mine is, 128gb storage, 4gb ram, 48mp camera. About average for now but top of the range for the time it was made. I bought it for £80 from a dodgy Asian corner shop. God knows where they got it from. I thought I’d got a bargain until I got home and saw all of these weird apps like keystring and web view browser. It wouldn’t access the internet, at least not under my instruction. Anyway that Lenovo program is called “Rescue and smart Assistant”. That should help you reset it to normal android. My model was XP1941-1. Motorola seem to have a nearly infinite amount of models. Btw I might add that in it’s current form this phone is particularly valuable to particular people. If you want to go on the dark web and sell it to a Nigerian fraudster or Columbian coke baron you’re welcome. I don’t think it’s a criminal offence to have one. IMO I would get rid ASAP but...

Hi ! Yeah I searched the forum and google about a way to re-lock my N1 but it is impossible for now ... But my cellphone operator wants to change my N1 against an Nexus S for free but when they see the little unlock sign on the bootscreen they say : Un-hack it and we'll change it.... So my question is : Is there a way to hide to unlock sign or I don't know ''brick'' my phone so that he can't boot up ?
Still, as far as i know, you can't relock the bootloader, or give the impression of it being locked.
You can brick the phone by flashing a bad radio (one from another phone perhaps) BUT it will still boot as far as the X screen with the lock.
You may have to do something catastrophic to the hardware to stop it being able to even turn on.
Maybe play on the fact the N1 has a dodgy power button, if you are lucky, you can wear it out, and they won't be able to turn it on.
Thanks a lot I'll check that out !
I've just got my Xperia Z phone today (6602), inserted SIM card, personalized it and everything, but every single time i press the power button, it enters the demo mode on the phone. The wallpaper and brightness settings always reset no matter how i change it. I went through the apps, but there's no way of disabling it. Is there some way i can remove this thing because it auto sets my phone on maximum brightness and drains the battery like no tomorrow.
Also, there's a widget that says "Touch Here for Details on Xperia Z"
No matter how many times i remove that widget, it resets.

Thank you. I just contacted my AT&T store reps and they informed me this was a floor demo model. I got this phone from Negri Electronics as a new, sealed phone and was surprised it was a demo phone when i paid full retail price for it. If not for your help, I would've gone to the painstaking process of rooting and/or reflashing my rom. Is there a significant difference between the floor model versions and the retail ones? If not, I might as well continue using it w/o the hassle. If i resell this phone later on, would there be problems (lower resell value)? If yes, I'll contact Negri for a replacement.
Thanks in advance. +rep for your help.

Dear Sir,
i just realize that my xperia z1 is a demo phone and i cant remove that application , can you please help me with this issue
Hi, I also have the same problem with the Z1... Not even root resolves the problem because the phone starts to lag horribly - guess it tries to start demo mode and it starts looping.
I tried the *#*#sellmore#*#* but it asks me to activate demo mode and not cancel it.
Someone please help! I can't stand this phone reseting itself any longer.
Thanks
BTW I did activate and deactivate the sellmore function and no change.

Hello guys,
same thing here on a Xperia Z that i have bought second hand from a guy, and i did not notice it untill i got home.
I found a temporary solution to deactivate the annoying demo mode, you can go to Settings>Apps>running apps and kill the process RETAIL DEMO, you just click it and press STOP untill it became inactive.
Also if somebody have solve it permanently, maybe it can tell us, i was thinking to root, but it`s a little bit harder because it`s running on Android 4.4.4.
i have sony xperia e4 dual phone and it perform like demo phone last 6 month please help me that i disable the retail mode
Hi!
Can anyone help me with the Samsung N7000 branded as I9220 my friend's wife brought back from Pakistan please?
No matter how I try with all attempts at the buttons, I cannot seem to force the phone into a download mode - I there is NO boot screen showing - it shows a custom-made splash screen that comes up straightaway! It IS possible with a sequence of assorted press buttons to get to display the original Samsung Galaxy splash startup screen but after that the phone comes on to main menu etc., and there is NO "applications" icon to try and force it into USB debugging mode!
I tried using the 300k purpose-made download jig I got from two different ebay suppliers, but it refuses to recognise it!
There is NO "about phone" in the menu, all I can get from the "settings" menu is "information" and "software version" that gives me the following two identification strings:-
DX.X22__MSW8536N__.0403W2P5.WVGA.K
TT.C2.1G256.. V03.092409241207
I also get a "sandy desert" wallpaper that comes on straight away and seem impossible to remove it from what's available on the settings menu, and the phone is choc-a-bloc with totally unknown Asian/Chinese contacts that are impossible to delete from the operations available!
1) Are the Chinese capable of flashing these phones with a bootloader that totally disables downloading, and if they are, is there a higher-level tool that will talk to the device at hardware level and overcome a bootloader block?
2) Can any experienced members identify the Android version/kernel from the software detail I've posted?
3) Have I no option but to buy another phone spares or repair etc., (e.g., a smashed one!) and transplant the mainboard, or has anyone overcome the "downloading" block using the advanced tools on this forum and can explain the procedure please?
Sorry for such a long post, this my first encounter with Smartphones and they're far more complex than Tom-Toms !

Are you positive it's not a fake? Reason I say this is it doesn't sound like android menu system. I've never heard of any locales locking off the system menu. I would suggest you've got your hands on a fake, but would be best to get this corroborated by someone who's in your area.

Hi!
As this is my first foray into smartphones, unfortunately I can't be absolutely sure wether it's hookey or not - even if the 'phone itself turns out to be genuine, it's obviously got goodness-knows-what programmed into it!
I DID find out it will work on my own Tesco Mobile PAYG SIM, but it refuses to recognise my friend's '3' contract SIM or his wife's contract SIM!
I do have a copy of the Service Manual obtained off this forum, are the Chinese etc., so good at faking these things that a comparison between the physical layout of the main-board and the drawings in the SM wouldn't show up a counterfeit one?

Usually you can tell by the Samsung brand at the top of the front, the speaker grill and the camera placement on the back, they're just a little larger, off center etc. The fakes are incredibly good visually but contain completely different hardware.

Fair enough, it's easy to verify the hardware against the physical layout drawings in the SM, but does the "MSW8356" in the software details I quoted give a clue?
Also, a number of other chaps on this and other similar forums have been able to successfully reflash Chinese/Asian i9220 phones,*** but unlike mine***, they have always been able to get into either USB debug mode, or download mode with the green "android" logo, etc, I ***cannot***, even with all the methods suggested - Vol- + Home + power, 300/301k "dongle", etc., get into either, and the *#1234# and *2787*3865--*# etc., dialling codes are unresponsive, the first simply closes the keypad and the second gives "not supported!"

Yeah, it's pretty simple to flash an i9220. That's why I think you have a fake as it won't go into download and msw8356 doesn't correspond to any stock or custom firmwares in this forum.

So I did some research on the xda forums about relocking the bootloader on the p880 and it seems like it is impossible.
My problem is, that under my screen there is an growing amount of dust, which really bothers me especially when I'm outside and the sun is shining on the display.
I would still have about 1 year of warrantiy left if i hadn't unlocked my bootloader, since it is impossible to relock again myquestion is if there is any way to change the text, that is displayed in S/W upgrade mode from "Bootloader: unlocked" to "bootloader: locked" so it would at least appear to be locked, when I send it in for repairs.
Thank you in advance!

They can't tell you unlocking bootloader makes dust under the screen but it depends on the terms of your warranty. In some regions warranty still works after unlocking since they can't prove that you done any demage to the device. First read your terms maybe you are lucky :good:
Thanks, but unfortunatly the terms say, that bootloader unlocking voids the warranty, I'm from Germany by the way...

does anybody have a solution for this?
You can try to flash the stock 4.0 rom (v10).

If you're from Germany, the unlocked bootloader shouldn't be a problem. I believe that European laws state that the warranty of electronics can't be voided by a change of software as long as that change didn't lead to the defect. In the case of dust under your screen, they probably won't even check your bootloader.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
There's already a thread about your issue here
I believe that flashing an ICS firmware should at least "camouflage" your unlocked bootloader
Just in case, anybody ever needs this information: there is indeed a paragrahp in the european laws, that states that the seller always has to give you 2 years of warranty, even if you change the software, as long as you can prove that the error didnt result from that action.
I bought my phone from amazon.de so I will contact them in the next couple of days and I will report back here to tell you about the results!
Thanks for the help!
So my phone returned today. They fixed it without any problems, BUT they somehow relocked the bootloader, now it is impossible for me to open it again, as I always get a small red Text in the upper left hand corner that reads "LG SECURITY unlock permission denied"
I've been searching for a solution all day, but I found nothing :b

lg support has a habit of doing that. it may be permanently locked
It wasn't sent to LG it was sent to Amazon, and from there to W-Support, a german repair center thing.
I wonder how they managed to permanently lock it...also they messed up my display (there is some kind of white stuff under there :b)
an a part auf the plastic that surrounds the handy is broken, so I will send in in again and if I'm lucky i will get my Money back, because they hat the oppurtunity to fix the error 2 Times and they screwed up both times, so I now have the option to get my money back :b
I do believe that the Tegra 3 SOC has PROM guarded by a series of fuses. Contrary to EPROM and EEPROM, PROM can be changed only once. So, by unlocking the bootloader, there is no way to change it back. Unlocked bootloader stays like that forever. They can only replace the whole SOC to reverse the situation, but thats like putting another screen in an old TV - it's not the same on that came with the phone - the old one is still unlocked.
Thats what I wrote them, because I didn't want anything but the screen replaced and they didn't notify me in any way that my bootloader will be permanently locked, because if it really is permanently locked the handy is worthless for me. I would rather shoot myself than sticking with the stock Firmware
No, it cannot be relocked. Physically impossible.
It can only be "relocked" by replacing the whole Tegra 3 SOC inside the phone and I'm pretty sure they don't do that anywhere. Besides, if they were to do that, it means you get another brand new, unlockable bootloader to unlock using the same procedure as the last time

But i tried every possible way to unlock the bootloader again, and the tool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263627
gave me the error: all fuses blown, bootloader permanently locked
all the other ways of unlocking just gave me the error "LG SECURITY unlock permission denied" no matter whoch one I used. I even tried EU-Open Firmware, and the german one
Did you actually try to flash a ROM or did you just probe the bootloader for unlocking?
Second, try the official way of unlocking.
I used every way of unlocking that I could find, after each try i checked the bootloader state in hidden menu and every time it read: LOCK
the I redid every way with the EU-OPEN .kdz but still no results
btw. the official way was the first one that I tried
So, you didn't try to flash any ROM other than official LGs'?
@UsernameWasTaken: It's true that you can't change burned bits in fuses. That's why our device is designed to use more bits for bootloader unlock checking and if all fuses are burnt, it means a locked state. So basically it can't be unlocked again as far as we know at the moment.
Sent from my OmniROM-powered LG Optimus 4X HD
@Adam77Root, yes, I've been reading upon this, but didn't realize that blowing all fuses locks the bl. I thought it meant blowing them with incorrect bits. This description is a little too technical and convoluted for an average reader, plus the writing style and language don't help one bit to easily understand what's going on.
So, presumably, one's phone's bootloader can and probably will be permanently locked by the repairmen, no matter if the owner messes with unlocking or not? They blow the fuses as standard procedure during repair, correct? Yet another d*ck move by nVidia.
As I understand it, there is a total of 16 fuses and all can be blown one at a time using this future81's method. Each separate fuse's current state defines whether the BL is locked/unlocked, or is it a combination of them?
All in all, I would guess that following the official unlocking method is a poorer choice than using future81's Unlock.apk, as long as there is no need to RMA the phone.
OP, I'm sorry they messed up your phone. If you can, replace or return it.
Main point is that you have 16 chances to change lock state, but once all fuses are blown, it remains in a locked state that can't be altered.
I don't think they blow the fuses always, but only if the BL has been unlocked. Maybe they want to punish users for being curious and messing with lock state.
Hello everyone, I am from India and My HTC One is rooted, unlocked and international version.
I am in an urgent need of help as I am not able to figure out what has happened to my HTC One M7 and due to that don't know what to do next.
So all this happened last night, that is, 20th of February.
I have Insertcoin-7.1.3-REPACK-M7_UL_L50_SENSE70_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.2 ROM with Elementalx kernel, installed on my device.
I was uninstalling few apps from my device, during the procedure it started to hang so I had to restart it then again I continued uninstalling another app or the same app if it didn't uninstalled due to hang. This hanging thing happened for about 5 or 6 times as I was removing so many apps! So I restarted it for about 5-6 times and after uninstalling all the apps that I didn't needed, I opened avast antivirus cleanup app to free up the space covered by junk files. and during its procedure, again my htc got hang and I again tried to restart it and since then I am not able to switch it on, the only response that I can get it after pressing the power button, it boots upto the HTC logo then nothing happens! and when I tried to go into recovery and install a fresh rom, I easily get into bootloader menu and the volume key works fine as navigation but as soon as I tried to go into recovery by pressing power button, it hangs, I also tried to do a factory reset from the bootloader but same thing, its hanging. And when I plug it in charger, the led keeps blinking. I don't know what's wrong and what to do next. I have learned a lot from XDA, I hope you guys can help me out! thank you in advance.

Yes I know what it means, unfortunately. That basically mean you can throw it in a garbage can
QHSUSB_DLOAD can happen for known 2 reasons
You flashed an incompatible firmware and right after that it went it this mode - recoverable
It randomly went in this mode = hardware failure - unrecoverable/must replace the motherboard.
Since you were experiencing hangs when playing with files, I guess this is confirming an hardware issue, maybe with the EMMC.

Damn! That's sad to hear, I think that the reason is the second one only because it's been few months since I have been using that ROM and KERNEL, and It was working smoothly, not even a single error occurred ever. any idea about how much does that motherboard cost? I bought my HTC for 43,000 INR in August 2014, that too the single sim version and currently dual sim version is coming for 24,000 INR so I am not in favor of investing a huge amount into it.

Hey there,
Even I had the exact same issue(out of country device-stuck at boot screen-unable to enter boot loader mode-no solutions give above works)[/B] from the last one and half week. I gave the mobile to the HTC service center and today I got a call telling that the mobile's motherboard has to be replaced and since it is a out of country device, the change will cost INR.16,500
And so I told them to return my mobile.
So don't go for changing the motherboard and best is to try some alternatives like selling or repairing by ourselves.
Some one if you feel that there is way for this issue PLEASE post it. It will help us a lot........
Please guys IT IS URGENT......IT IS HELL WITHOUT A MOBILE U LOVE

Hey! Thanks a lot for sharing your issue with me. I am thinking to first get it checked by the service center and let's see what they say and how much amount they ask for, I am in a favor of only investing 2-3k, not more than that. If they asked for more than 5k. I'll order motherboard directly or manage it from somewhere and will get it fixed from some local shop.
I love my phone but don't wanna invest much as I already have purple tint issue and I was thinking to get it repaired and now I've an another issue which should be fixed first.

Ive seen some MB replaced for around USD 150-200$ so I wouldn't expect to get it repaired under 5000 INR
You can find a motherboard for the international variant around 95$ (6500 INR). Cheaper MB (around USD 60$) like the Sprint and Verizon variant won't fit in your phone. If ordering a motherboard online also make sure it was not salvaged from a blacklisted phone as the IMEI# is tied to the motherboard so if you change your MB you'll get a new IMEI and you don't want it to be blacklisted. If you never repaired a phone before then expect some more fees cause you will most likely broke something when disassembling it, like a lot of ppl did.
