Windows Phone update history
We think even great software can always get better. That's why we periodically release Windows Phone software updates to add new features you've asked for and to maximize your phone's performance.
When a software update is available for you to download, we'll let you know. A notice will appear on your phone, telling you to connect your phone to your computer. (For details about the process, see Phone updates.)
To ensure quality, we release updates on a staggered schedule throughout the world. Many factors influence when you'll receive an update, including which phone model you have and which company provides your mobile service. We're committed to delivering updates in a timely manner, but don't be surprised if it takes a few weeks for us to notify you that an update is available for your phone.
The scope of each update varies. Sometimes we'll include only a few minor fixes or tweaks and sometimes we'll include brand-new features. When it's available, we'll also pass along software from phone manufacturers that improves the performance of specific phone models.
See How do I update my phone software? to learn how to check if there's an update available for you to download and which version of the Windows Phone operating system (OS) is currently on your phone.
Here's a summary of what we've included in each update so far.
March 2011
OS version: 7.0.7390.0
•
Copy & paste. You asked for it—now it's here. Just tap a word and drag the arrows to copy and paste it on your phone. You can copy text from emails, text messages, web pages, and Office Mobile documents, and paste it anywhere you can type. To learn more, see Copy & paste.
•
Faster apps and games. Nobody likes to wait. That's why we've whittled down the time it takes for apps and games to start up and resume. It's all part of our focus on getting you to the things you love, easier and faster.
•
Better Marketplace search. We've streamlined Marketplace search to make it easier to find specific apps, games, or music. Press the Search button in the Apps or Games section of Marketplace and you'll see only apps or games in the results. Press Search in the Music section of Marketplace to search just the music catalog.
•
Other Marketplace improvements. We've improved the stability of Marketplace while you download apps. We've also improved the experience of downloading apps larger than 20 megabytes, upgrading from trial apps to paid apps, using a credit card with an address outside the United States, sharing links to apps via email, sorting Xbox LIVE games by release date, and creating an Xbox LIVE account from within the Games Hub.
•
Wi-Fi improvements. We now display your phone's Media Access Control (MAC) address in Settings. (You might need this info if you try to connect to a Wi-Fi network that uses MAC address filtering. To learn more, see Connect to a Wi-Fi network.) We've also removed the limit on the number of Wi-Fi profiles that you can store and reduced the time it takes to start your phone if you've stored lots of Wi-Fi profiles.
•
Outlook improvements. We've improved the experience of viewing iPhone photo attachments you receive from a non-Exchange-based email account (such as a Google Mail, Hotmail, or Yahoo! Mail account), using the Global Address List (GAL) when connecting to Exchange Server 2003 using Exchange ActiveSync, and working with email display names that contain brackets (for example, "David Alexander [Contoso]").
•
Messaging improvements. We've improved the experience of receiving Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) messages if your phone uses a PIN-locked SIM.
•
Facebook integration. We've improved the experience of syncing Facebook accounts.
•
Camera improvements. We've improved the stability of switching between camera and video modes.
•
Audio improvements. We've improved the experience of using a Bluetooth headset to make calls when you're playing music or videos.
•
Other performance improvements. This month's update also includes software from several phone manufacturers that improves the performance of specific models. Naturally, if you don't have one of the affected models, we won't install this portion of the update on your phone.
February 2011
OS version: 7.0.7008.0
•
We made some improvements to the way we deliver software updates to ensure that the process keeps working smoothly for you.

did you try plugging it in to a computer with zune installed?
Zune still reports 7.0 (7008) for me (UK)
Hmmm... This seems to be good news. I am in Canada and my HD7 still says that I dont have any updates as of yet so I guess the waiting game begins.
Does anyone happen to know if there is a reported schedule for which countries the update will be going top first and then in what sequence from there?
HD7 my t mobile usa .. There is no update for me. ?
ok here in greece!updated!
Switzerland still no update

Me too
Just updated a few minutes ago.
Thanks,
Santos
Microsoft is slowly distributing the update to a number of unbranded devices worldwide and owners should see the update notification shortly. Carrier branded devices are a whole different story. A number of mobile operators, Orange, O2 and AT&T blocked the first Windows Phone 7 patch update when it was originally released. It’s not yet clear when carrier branded devices will receive update notifications. WinRumors understands that O2 UK should be pushing the update to its range of devices on March 24.
I had installed the "xda" nodo via gold card, and it still wants me to update (could it be footballs euro release was not GOLD<g>), anyhoo here goes nothing...

Football release was 7389 version...I think that this is the "official" update from Microsoft (7390)
Thanks,

same here. no update on my branded phone in austria (A1)
Interesting - it all worked, but it only kept the last restore point (it blatted the previous one)!

Well I won't waste any time looking for diffs so! Football rules (if I didn't mention before LOL)

Actually from a serious point of view - I could have fernangled zune backups so I could always return to a V1 side-loadable OS.
Also I bet these backups are in some password protected VHD format (since MS have been using them for many things of late - including the VM WMP7, and WHS V1 backups)
Hmmmm,
Gordon.
What broadband ISP you use in greece..??
Still wait for the T-Mobile Version
Unbranded to Euro O2UK, no update as of yet! Waiting game begins once again.

Any one receive the beta update ????????????
No, and I don't think anyone will. Huawei's polish branch announced beta builds at the end of May/early June. A lot of people took part in it, but to this day no one received beta build.
My latest information ist that Huawei Device DACH will launch a beta test for P7 starting at the beginning of July.
A few moments before the Huawei emailed Italy
Seems like only Malaysian users will get the beta update. Or so they wrote on their Facebook page...

Hello everyone want to write this post to clarify several concepts: 1. The beta test is only available for computers that are purchased through open market and not through operators. 2. The beta test is only available for computers running version EUROPEAN free market. 3. If the team has undergone technical service and changed the board, we have no way of ensuring that the equipment is free to not be in the database, although it will receive the final version. 4. The version released on Monday July 6th and will make reports to our email until July 24. If you were one of the lucky ones, we hope you can help us improve !! Regards Huawei equipment.

Hello!
I'm afraid my phone might have malware. Hopefully it's a false alarm but I would appreciate any insight into the behavior:
Yesterday I saw a notification with the EMUI icon (stylized red "UI") but when bringing up the notification panel all I saw was a green "down" arrow and no text. I've had apps with bugs creating broken notifications before so I tapped it to check. It sent me to a webpage flagged as a source of malware "d1.3gmimo.com/handpet/wallpaper/...<can't remember rest>". I closed the page and since Chrome showed the warning before loading the page I think it's safe to assume I didn't download anything.
I don't know the origin of the notification though so I'm afraid there might be some malware already present. It had the EMUI icon but that can be faked or may be the default when no icon is configured (not sure how it works).. The notification appeared over mobile data so no router redirect infection. Searches gave me only one hit I could make sense of - a forum thread with the poster describing a similar event. They got not explanation but see here for their screenshots: Google Translate on thread-5858387-1-1.html on club.huawei.com (can't post links yet it seems)
I am very careful with the apps I install, avoid all the copycat crap, and I only allow Google Play as a source. The phone was only ever used by me except briefly by a family member which I trust not to download anything sketchy. Still, I uninstalled the most recent 2 apps: Hashi and Nonogram Katana (has ads) , though these had been installed a week before. The list of installed apps shows nothing new/strange. I also installed AVL, Bitdefender, and Avast but they found nothing. (I know it's debated whether av/anti-malware apps are helpful but thought to cover everything.)
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!
Phone details:
Huawei P7-L10
Android 4.4.2
EMUI 2.3 (V100R001C02B129)
Branded by Vodafone and with their uninstallable apps - using it on different network though.
I know I should update but the update app doesn't find anything (I understand this may be due to modifications made by telecom companies) and I got lazy since I've had no compatibility issues. I guess I should think more about security.
After doing more digging and learning to use adb to look at the logcat, I think the notification might have been created by VLife, which is Huawei's wallpaper distribution service.
On my phone I have VLife 2.23.3 installed (seems to be stock) as a system app. The title is in Chinese but the icon is the EMUI logo. (I figured out which app it is by the icon and version number, after I found the app hosted on aptoide.com while googling for "vlife".)
I presume what happened is that VLife tried to download a new wallpaper (no idea why all of a sudden) and it went to 3gmimo.com, which might serve as a mirror for apps. The site is flagged as having malware. This might be a false alarm or the site might have been hijacked since my version of VLife came out.
So the app might be ok. Though I'm still worried why the sudden update. Maybe there's a central message that was sent to the app to update? (The logcat below mentions a receiver.) The only suspicious thing about the app otherwise is that it has the permission to record sound along with changing sound settings. The latter isn't so surprising since it provides multimedia wallpapers. Maybe recording comes with the rest of the sound permissions. I've disabled the app and disabled its notifications for now. It can't be uninstalled since it's a system app.
These lines come up quite often in my logcat:
I/am_proc_start( 604): [0,18761,10089,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper:main,broadcast,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper/com.vlife.receiver.PetMainReceiver] - the link I got referred to a "handpet"
I/am_proc_start( 604): [0,18907,10089,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper:main,broadcast,com.vlife.huawei.wallpaper/com.vlife.receiver.InstallEventReceiver]
Does anybody know more about this app or service?
Thanks!
Hello guys, today a friend of mine show me that there's a new firmware for our Huawei P8Lite,
So, below here's the screen and what we can see: another B585.

Added Smart groups. After you add company information to a contact, the contact will be automatically added to the corresponding company group.
Added the contact name QR code, enabling you to share contact information quickly and accurately.

Optimised the tone settings and added the option to enable a power on tone.
Optimised the battery manager for a sleeker UI.
1. If some third-party apps are incompatible with Android 6.0, update them to their latest versions on Google Play.
2. Your home screen layout may be rearranged slightly.
3. This update will not erase your personal data. If you experience any issues during the update, please call the customer service hotline for support.

So what's the difference between this and the older one? I can't see...
This is basically the old version but for a country that didn't got the newer updates... This can be the latest update for Africans P8lite phone(or Indonesia, Australia etc) this isn't new.
Maybe Huawei just reuploaded this rom to ota server.

Well, this upgrade is for European users. "C432" is for Europe
Does have someone test this upgrade?
It's old. Like, really old. And it's only for single SIM devices
It's old dude, they're just reuploading stuff on their servers or the website just now found this version. For c432 you're looking at B606 and later
EDIT: B606 is not out at the time of writing this

Yes I've understand. Thx
Hello there everybody,
I recently purchased a brand new Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (also known as P9 lite 2017, Honor 8 lite etc. in some countries) and I was really happy to get one at almost 140$. I also bought it since everyone on the net was praising the excellent camera for this phone range. I was super-happy when I also stated that it was supporting camera2api; which means I can take RAW/DNG photos with the stock camera app or other proper applications.
Unfortunately, something was wrong: even if the phone can actually take RAW photos with apps such like OpenCamera and stuff, the result is not what I (and probably everybody else) was expecting. The files are kind of missing a color channel (red one, I think), which makes the photos almost useless, since the saturation is messed up and I can't even fix it with heavy Lightroom editing. I just don't understand why it behaves like that. Am I missing anything?
Or does a hidden RAW enable feature exist like in the P9 lite and must it be unlocked by file editing ?(https://www.xda-developers.com/guide-enables-raw-capture-in-the-stock-huawei-p9-lite-camera).
Is there a custom ROM that can actually implement this feature or will it ever be one?
Thanks for the answers.
Did you solve this? I have the same problem probably. From what I could gather the red and blue channels come out swapped. So I just made a preset in photoshop using the channel mixer. Even so the images still have to be heavily adjusted, retouched around the center and they're softer around the edges.
I didn't see many people complaining online and your thread has no answers, so I though to maybe leave this information here. It's weird that the stock camera app works well, but I'm still in warranty so lets see what huawei can do about this.
