So I have no problem transferring files from my Sony a6000 to my Galaxy Tab s3 through USB. I just open the stock file browser and it's right there in the device manager. But my s10 won't show it for whatever reason, and I can't even get it to connect to my camera through wifi. Any help would be great if there a this party app or what not.
Hi
I'm having a similar issue with an external ssd. Works great on my Tab S3 but won't mount on my S10+
Over posted on reddit as well as here so hopefully someone has an answer.
I'll maybe ask Samsung on Twitter too.
Cheers
Kevin

Can't you copy files from Sony camera to PC and after that copy these files to S10?

With official AT&T upgrade (2.2), I can connect to the phone from my Macbook Pro via Bluetooth, and browse.
I see all the directories, but no files at all.
Also, the "Send" button is grayed out, so I cant send files to my phone.
Is Bluetooth file transfer broken on this release?
Or am I just doing something wrong?

Get bluetooth file transfer app in market.
I haven't experienced any issues with bluetooth file transfer since the update. Running stock 2.2 Captivate, and a Windows 7 64 bit OS.
I see the same thing on my Mac, has been the same across multiple Captivate ROMs. I presume it's a Mac / Galaxy compatibility issue.
Hi Adam,
I saw your video at youtube on how to root the Samsung Galaxy Camera so I thought maybe you could help me with my problem here.
This is what happened. I have deleted a bunch of my photos from my camera that I would like to retrieve.
I connected my Samsung Galaxy Camera to my PC what I see is EK-GC100 as a scanner or camera. See the attached file. What I want is the camera to work as the removable drive so that I can't have e: or f:. In that case, I can retrieve deleted files using Photo Recovery software. The problem is I try so many times and way, I still can't put it on disk drive mode. All the photo recovery software can't detect any drive from my Samsung Galaxy Camera and therefore, I can't do any scanning to retrieve my photos.
Do you think you can help? Please ..... thank you.

I have the exact same problem - the recovery programs won't recognize the camera, and it makes no difference whether its connected as a media unit (MTP) or a camera (PTP).
I have installed Kies, but it makes no difference.
Any suggestions will be welcome.
Thank you
Anyone knows the method to send/receive the large videos to/from samsung phone like s3 or note 2 through our sony xperia z1...
WiFi is not working like bluetooth or like on Samsungs. You still can do that with some 3td parts apps which use a WiFi protocol, at the moment I don't know any, or connect the 2 phones with usb cable and use one of them as storage. This should be implemented between high-end devices but I think is not so important so still problematic.

one way is to use Super Beam, it's an app downloadable from the playstore, if both devices have it youcan use wifi direct to transfer at 20 mb/s which is blazing fast.
other alternative is to try and pair both devices using NFC but from what i've seen z1 NFC only sends files through BT which is slower than wifi-direct.
For single large files Superbeam can get up to 40mbps.
And you can keep Myappsharer installed, it will come in handy to send to phones which don't have it.
Sent from my C6902 using xda app-developers app

tried superbeam but i am able to receive from samsung [hone but not able to send.
it says fails.
I suggest you to use ES File Explorer with LAN
for me I use ES File Explorer with LAN feature included to transfer data by wifi between two devices.. works fast and perfect
lately i tried nfc transfer media from note 2 to z1, the transfer is directly to playstore in Z1(before this ok) but i try from my BlackBerry to my Z1 its fine.. anyone can help.. I'm new in Android
Hey guys, as the title says - I am having difficulty with transferring files across from my Samsung S21 Ultra to my PC.
I have tried:
- Developer mode, enable USB Debug
- ^ + set default debug to be FTP
- keypad *#0808# and select MTP+ADB
- In the notification bar, clicked the 'charging' notification (that sends me to battery, not to pick another option)
I do not have the original samsung cable as it was of poor quality and failed after 2 months however I am using Anker cables, I use them for file transfers on other devices such as cameras, VR headsets and other phones - they work perfectly fine on everything except my S21 Ultra. I have also tried different PCs/Laptops in case its a driver issue.
Phone specs:
Model number - SM-G998B/DS
Running the latest version of Android.
If anyone can help me, that would be great. I really don't want to factory reset as that means losing the things I want to keep anyway which is just a lose lose.
If you can't find a solution quickly right now, then just use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.primftpd&hl=en_US&gl=US
FE Explorer can also do something similar.
Or, Samsung Flow or something else.
Also, are you mostly trying this on Windows or something else?
Ensure usb-drivers for Samsung phones are installed on your pc. E.g. by installing smartswitch on you pc.

No need to install anything.
If it's Windows, just go to Windows Update at some point after you connect the phone.
Click "Check for Updates" and/or go into "Optional Updates" and you'll find that the driver is waiting to be installed ON YOUR COMMAND.

Surely I wouldn't need an additional app to transfer files? I'm doing this on the latest build of Windows 10 21H2 and also on a Windows 11 laptop, my P20 Pro transfers just fine but the S21 Ultra doesn't read anything as something other than a charger.

Do you have super display installed? I had an issue where I had super display installed and could not connect my phone for file transfer until I turned the super display service off in my services on Windows.
I am having the same issue and as I can recall it was after the recent update strange may be.
Open driver manager from within control panel, right click on portable devices and update MTP driver for Samsung phone. Press allow on your phone and you should be good to go.
I'm using Solid Explorer over WiFI, no issues
If you're using a corporate windows you need to install the media feature pack. Otherwise just try a different cable, some don't work. I had the same issue when using my old huawei cable, used the one that came with s21u and was fine.
Try disabling DeX in the phone settings. It worked for me..
Just a quick question guys, does the S21 Ultra come with a USB 3 data speed cable or is that something I'd have to buy on amazon etc. Thanks.
