Some videos don't play

Hi,
I have a problem. Some kind of videos from internet just dont play. Some play like 1 sec and then stops. Other kind of videos just play well. This happens in facebook browser, chrome and also one cinema app that i have installed. Tried to install firefox and the videos play well.
This happens in an xperia z3c D5803 lollipop 23.1.A.1.28 with xpoded.
Can anyone help me figure out whats the problem and how to fix it. It's a little bit anoying to wait to get in the pc to see some videos.
PS: Already tried to disable all xposed modules and the problem still there.

See if it helps to disable "Use NuPlayer (exp.)" in developer options, I noticed it's enabled by default in Lollipop but since it's experimental, maybe it can cause issues?

i have that option disabled. just enabled and the videos in the cinema app just are working fine. the ones in the FB browser and Chrome still stops. (i just figured that in Chrome if i ask the pc page, the videos work fine).

You could try UC Browser, in my experience it has the widest support for webvideos and the player it uses is quite advanced, too.

I know that I have alternatives. I am just trying to figure out what is the problem to try to solve it. Cause in other phones I don't face this problem

Life without GAPPS ?

Hey guys anyone out there not using gapps with his custom rom ? I am on Lineage 15.01 official oreo build and i dont have google apps installed on my phone.
I use fdroid and yalp store and micro g services. Apps crashes sometimes and it can get painfull but mostly everything works.
One of the disadvantages is that youtube doesn't work you can only browse it through the web. Some other applications also.
For navigation i use offline maps. With games i had no problem.
Anyone tweaked micro g to make youtube play ?

Did you tried YouTube vanced ?
Try it installing from magisk manager app.

What about newpipe ? it is available on f-droid and have tons of features that official youtube app doesnt

Use Newpipe.

Thanks, i downloaded the app. Any ideas on e-mail clients, i used FairEmail for a while but it didn't work as expected. Browsing the web to open my gmail is a lot more trouble.

Outlook maybe?

i am not a big fan of Microsoft either. I am using outlook at work. I also use Microsoft Excel on my device..
But i can say that not using gapps is not a problem, the phone is cleaner and google is not on the background eating sources.
Duck duck go also is a great browser.

I downloaded both nonroot and root apks. I installed the nonroot to check it out before flashing.
Very good and it plays on background ! :good:

Replacing YouTube with YouTube Vanced

I have a xiaomi K20 pro (indian rom).
I've installed youtube vanced with micro g and almost happy.
I need youtube vanced to replace youtube when opening video notification or youtube link.
Is there any way to to it?

1. Download Redmi System Manager (non Root) from Play Store
2. search youtube app from the System manager
3. deactivate youtube app
afterwards youtube vanced is the default app or at least system will ask open with XYZ and you set as default vanced

But am I going to receive notifications normally in notification shade or by disabling YouTube I won't?

don't know i am not using youtube notifications and did not tried

you actually dont need another app to do this
settings->apps->manage apps->default apps(the upper right icon)->opening links->youtube vanced->open supported links->open

Downgrade Chromecast to bypass Youtube ads

Hey,
I'm looking to bypass youtube ads, that are getting more and more annoying everyday.
Do you think that downgrading chromecast to an older version (and blocking updates) would allow me to get youtube without ads, as it used to be a few years ago ?
Maybe setting a custom dns still works, but I've read that ads nowadays come directly from youtube.com
Did any of you tried that ?

Youtube Vanced for Huawei, how secure is Gmail passwords?

I've installed YouTube Vanced via petal search on the Huawei mate 40 pro. It logs in fine and has been working properly. However, if I log in to Gmail and look under the security settings. I find a new device that has been logged on to my Google account. It comes up as a Google Pixel 4 device, and says I have been logged into that device. I've checked it a few times and there seems to be a link between the new device and the YouTube vanced account. If I log out the device on Gmail I get logged out on YouTube vanced. And if I log back in the device gets signed in again.
Is this some mechanism used by youtube vanced to use YouTube? Is the YouTube vanced I have a fake version? Is this a personal problem with my individual device not being secure? Or is youtube vanced just not secure for use?

It's a way to fool Google into showing the phone as Pixel 4.
