Surfing the internet I found this :L

If it is true that the T-Mobile versions are unlocked. Is there any way to develop based on this variant?
For example, is it possible to unlock the bootloader by installing the rom of t-mobile, and from there to put twrp?
Another question
When I dedicate myself to flash oreo through LGUP I realized that there was everything about rom.
Is it possible to install twrp using LGUP repackaging the kdz with a custom recovery ??
I'm sorry if the section is wrong. XDA will not let me put on roms
Most likely not, it verifies integrity on boot and it would probably fail requiring another flash with verified OS

Hi, I've been trying to Root, Unlock Bootloader and Flash a Custom Recovery in my LG L90 D410 Running Lollipop 5.0.2 Software v20a but there are too many methods and I'm confused. Some of them is just about rooting but also want to unlock bootloader and install recovery.
Please Help ASAP.
Hi. First step is rooting. As you are on 20a you should be able to use one-step rooting (search forum), which needs a computer. If it doesn't work or you want a simpler solution, you can use Kingroot, but be aware that there are some concerns about using it due to its constant communication to Chinese servers that aren't well explained so far AFAIK. You may want to replace it with SuperSU later using a script (not easy). It will be removed later if you flash a ROM anyway...
Once rooted: backup original bootstack and modemst partitions, flash unlocked bootstack (make sure you flash one for your exact phone model), flash recovery and then you should be able to flash any ROM.
PS: most custom ROMs only work with Kitkat bootstack, then either downgrade or flash KK bootstsck before flashing custom ROM.
PS2: it seems that at least latest versions of CM 12.1 work with either Kitkat or Lollipop bootstacks, so you may want to check the most recent info about the custom ROM you want to install first.

Here is the universal cust mod. If you have a Helium (64/128gb) Mi Max and want to flash the Global ROM on it, the cust mod will unlock all Locales. Merged is the cust from the 32GB Global ROM and the Chinese 64/128GB rom. The Chinese region is set to US as well. I removed the extra unnecessary preinstalled apps from the cust folders as well. To flash the global rom simply fastboot flash the boot.img and system.img from the global rom through fastboot. Then make sure you have TWRP installed and boot into it immediately after flashing the global rom and flash the Universal Cust Mod. Then (optional) flash SuperSU in TWRP. After a reboot you'll be on the Global rom on your Helium.

Do not flash boot img from hydrogen to helium, otherwise bricked device guaranteed.
Flashing different boot.img on locked bootloader will result a hardbrick and only testpoin method will work.

The boot.img from each model is pretty much the same. I don't recommend flashing anything other than stock roms with a locked bootloader, I would unlock the bootloader first before flashing any custom roms or mods. I also have a Global rooted ROM for the Helium I'm testing with google apps and Adaway. I should have a release tomorrow.

Well, I got instruction posted how to flash custom roms and get root without unlocking bootloader, posted in guides section.
I tried flashing global rom for hydrogen on my helium then your mod and ended up with a hardbrick.
Then I tried to flash it with boot.img and the same result.
Had to put device in EDL with testpoint.
I guess it doesn't work with locked bootloader, while custom roms work fine.
I am also a ROM/Kernel developer but I just don't want to unlock my device, unless they release kernel sources.
But I was developing for Sony, there are no cust at least for Z Ultra.
Did I get that correctly and it's just unlocking languages that are in the rom?

Hey Doom, it'll be extremely helpful if you could write a guide about using that test point... I read some russian and I still couldn't get how exactly you connect it to battery from that 4PDA guide!? Best start with how you open the phone.
It'll help a lot of people seeing so many bricked devices...
Thank you for all the useful info you bring here!

Yeah the cust mod unlocks most Languages and unlocks all regions but those are the things you enter at the beginning steps when you first flash a rom or go back to stock.

I added hardbrick recovery to my tutorial. , since one guy in my thread flashed rom for different device.
I am making some kind of a universal guide.
So I gonna add what is necessary.

Thank you! Now I got how test point is used. I have another question in that matter but I'll leave it for the new thread. :good:
Hi,
No OTA updates for me as my Z2 Pro is running some merchant version as I have multiple languages available.
With that in mind, do I need to update to latest ZUI software, or simply unblock bootloader, root and flash custom rom?
At the moment I am at 2.1.120 ST
Same here. That's international ROM, which does not support OTA. I believe I'm gonna flash latest ZUI using QFIL method (there's a thread "How to flash stock ROM") but there's not much info about this latest ZUI version.
Both of you are best served following any of the guides to flash the stock rom via QFIL. After that you're free to decide how to continue (OTA, Custom ROM, Custom Recovery...)
Thanks, will do.
By the way, I bought the device specifically to go straight to a custom ROM. I had a really easy time flashing the stock rom, updating through OTA (didn't even need VPN for some reason) and then unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and AEX. The whole setup works quite nicely.
And according to a number of threads the device should be close to unbrickable. But I haven't verified that myself
Hello guys, I currently AT&T LMV405UA0o I bought it not knowing that I cannot update it to any new android version without a sim card, I do not live in the us.
Now I want to install any stock firmware without the carrier blot ware and update it to android 10.
Now what I did is try cross flashing that did not work because of the crossdll error att_us > any other firmware, I tried using lgup_cmd It did not recognize any firmware I tried to flash so I give up on that.
I tried to unlock the bootloader with lg v35 bootloader, it worked now my bootloader is unlocked I erased my laf_a after taking a backup and now I have access to fast boot.
I will try to install twrp soon it should be easy the hard part is done. my question is how to install the unlocked stock firmware for my current device without the at&t stuff its already sim unlocked.
What firmware should I use, should I also flash magisc (I don’t really care about root), what boot section should I use I don’t wanna screw anything. I’m current on android 9 and it boots normally. Can u guys link me to guide for my issue.
Thanks in advance

You can't install stock firmware with twrp. Unless someone converts the KDZ firmware to a twrp zip format, then it's not doable.
It *sounds* like you tried to use the 1.16 dll of lgup to crossflash, but the one that works is 1.14 dll for crossflash. After crossflashing, and if you need to refurbish the newer kdz, then use 1.16 for that.

can u please let me know which guide i should use and what firmware to download if possible. the best case scenario for me is to remove the at&t rom completely.

I'd suggest reading 2 guides, one for the V40 and one for the V35.
Both of those threads explain crossflashing, the V40 is more specific, but the V35 one has the basics. I'd recommend reading both threads in their entirety, most questions / comments you can gloss over, but some of them will be about your specific question, and many times you'll find answers there and know what to do when / if you happen upon the same problem.
What firmware? Well the latest 'open' version for wherever your region is of course. In the US that would be the V405QA720e_01_NAO_US_OP_1230.kdz - that's still Pie, but Q should be available soon. I'd suggest go slow with the process, be sure of what you're doing, as best as possible.
good luck
hello
I have a new phone (my LG V30 was great but time to change
I'm in France with a specific carrier rom (SFR) Global/stable 12.0.5.0 RKFEUSF
I tried to OTA it with the local install method (ROM ZIP is in internal storage) with V12.5.6.0.RKFMIXM
it says that I can't do that because "it's not compatible" (yeah specific bloatware...)
the phone is not rooted, and not unlocked yet (waiting) can I install it with a fastboot or recovery method?
thanks
edit: what's the difference between recovery and fastboot Zip roms ?
Fastboot you can use immediately after enabling usb debugging in developer options, for recovery you first need to boot/flash something like twrp after unlocking the bootloader.
thanks!
unlocked it, installed TWRP and flashed a new rom then magisk
working like a breeze.
I have another question, do I have to flash (or dirty flash) only GLOBAL ROMS (as it was a global rom originally) or can I flash European roms ? I read that they have more features than global roms, is that true or even worth it?)
I also read somewhere not to flash betas as you will not be able to flash a stable roms on top of it?
