Many people complaining about this over at oneplus forums. Some sites even reporting it. Just wondering how many people are here are noticing it? Happens alot in the CPUZ app. Personally I just cancelled my order especially because of all the rma horror stories
Just realized already a thread about this . Please close

Dear moderators, (and users too)
Is there a chance you could start moderating this forum a bit harder?
I'm talking about HUNDREDS of posts like:
"Cool, I will download this new rom as soon as I'll get home"
"Thanks for the new rom"
"I'm downloading the rom now" etc...
Haven't you noticed that recently topics get several pages in few hours, only because of people posting this useless comments?
I'm using this forum for few years now, I learned everything about Pocket PCs from here and I love it. But recently I just give up trying to get through 20+ pages of posts full of the extremely valuable informations that mr X "will give it a try later".
Does it really not bother you at all??
All the best!

ROTFL,
Now that you started this thread here anyway, it's a nice example to add to the above list you yourself started....
Has it anything to do with upgrading your wizard (yes/no) ? Then why did you post it in "wizard upgrading" ?
Its about as off topic as you can get.
Maybe a private mail to the moderators would have done more justice to your topic.

BINGO !
Right you are.

The moderate moderators moderate moderately.
If you see a post you don't like, report it to a mod or click the ! next to the post. That's what it's there for.
Fighting the tide of noob posts is barely worth the effort these days, but we try to do what we can. Bringing a pointlessly postulating post to our attention should get results faster.

PS do consider entering quality posts to the Haiku Thread

1) I was hoping that maybe some of the people submiting these would read it too...
2) If you're looking for a specific info you won't have to enter this topic after reading the title. And that's the problem with let's say "New Aku 3.5 WWE rom by Molski (example)" thread that I'm expecting to find any RELEVANT info, not people's afterwork plans...But then I HAVE TO enter and go through hundreds of worthless info if I'm interested in this new rom. See the difference?
3) Vijay my friend, I understand moderate moderating but I haven't seen not even one moderator saying anything about this matter. It's all "don't ask about the CID unlocking" over and over again and that's all regarding the order here.
I can't recall if we brought in any new moderators specifically for the Wizard forums, but we did recently promote a few.
We are aware of the problems and do discuss them in the Moderator forums, but it really is difficult to moderate individual posts unless they're brought to our attention - reading every post in every thread would melt anyone's brain. So we moderate threads we come across/read, those that are reported, those that obviously look spamdulous, etc.
If you've got examples of specific threads, always feel free to PM a mod. We do discuss these things, but as stated, it's become almost pointless trying to moderate some of the wave of noobishness... since Crossbow came out, the number of posts daily has shot up considerably

Agree, so you may want to comment here as well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=272524
When a member (both new and senior) repeats a post/question that has been answered before torches rise, everybody looses their head and hell breaks loose.
Just hear me out, please
Some members complain that repeating questions and posts "create spam" and just clug the forums. But comments that complain about those posts are just as unhelpful in the community.
All I'm saying is that I belive most users do search before posting a question, and they might not have found the answer with their specific phrasing. If they address the question in a different manner, in a near future when some one else encounters that same problem, they there are more chances of finding the answer, or even better: a more updated one!
So please: if you have easy access to the answer or a reference to it, it will cost you next to nothing and might save the forum several posts there after if you just actually help!!
This is something all forums suffer from. Just wanted to bring more awareness to the issue from a different perspective than most users.
... go ahead and flame me if you must

True enough, but the people who find the answers tend not to start a new thread about how they had a problem and then fixed it .
I've not really run into much trouble with the searching. If I find a thread where someone has asked a question that I'm also looking for the answer to and it's full of replies saying how it's been answered plenty of times before then at least I know it's an issue that's been dealt with and I can keep looking, confident that my answer is out there.
Sometimes it gets a little excessive when there's more than two or three replies to someone's thread telling them to search, but then it is clear that there's a hell of a lot of people out there that just plain don't bother trying to find things out for themselves. If anything can be done to make sure that they only do this the once, I'm all in favour.
ok, so i'll reply to this post by also referencing an answer
this thread is redundant you <insert worst insult you can think of here> noob
please see
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371254
Ahhh....the irony!
I just put a rehash of previous posts in the last post and in my first post in that thread, and in Notatreofan's recent thread. Just so that more threads aren't created, I've included it here too.

As for the problem with redundant threads, I've been trying to either:
Giving the new user a search term (that we know will help), or
given the new user a way to navigate and use the resources here, mostly created by us to prevent users from asking questions in the first place, or
given the noob the links he wanted.
If you're genuinely interested in helping others, you'll realize that two of the three ways actually teach a person new things, which means they'll be better off on their own, while #3 only encourages them to ask more questions.
Finally, it's not the amount of time you've been here reading, because that's not contributing back to the community. So my suggestion to you would be to come back and re-read this thread after you've contributed back to the forum by having at least 500+ genuinely helpful posts and see if you feel the same way.
And I don't mean your suggestions to fix a soft key issue by bashing the keyboard with a screwdriver

I'd like to add, if you're feeling particularly annoyed, you can always include this link. If you append your search terms like this:
Code:
http://www.justf**kinggoogleit.com/search?q=tilt+backlight+phone+call
It will redirect after 15 seconds to the google page you want. I highly suggest a bit of chastising when using that link, but please make sure they're aware that it is humorous and slightly offensive
Perhaps I've forgotten to emphasize that there is a fine line between chastising and harassing. Some members take it too far while not helping at all The idea is to get new users to become self-reliant, not flame the living crap out of them and belittle them
I found our main Sheriff s.d.oconnor closing many O2X threads lately with reasons like the following:

Thread Closed, running the risk of breaking warez rules and becomming a 10 poster breading ground.

So what exactly is a 10 poster "breading" ground and why is it bad?
The word "breading" doesn't even exist, does it
Also: why is the risk of posting warez a reason for closing threads? This risk is always there in every thread, I could post a warez link right now
Does the risk to slip on a banana skin and break your neck prevent you from getting out of bed as well?
Edit: Ahh I guess I can imagine now: a thread for easily collecting 10 posts? But this would be possible in nearly any thread anyway, no good reason for me.
I think he meant breeding ground. I think people can hide warez links within these threads (where it's easier to spread after all) or that people who want to clear their 10 post limit quickly can just post into these threads.
Lets start of with what a Breading Ground is, well it's a place where all the members who have less than 10 posts like to go and post nonsence just to achive there 10 posts, making more work getting rid of them. Also the risk of Warez within the thread you are talking about, alot of members where making lists of games that they think run well on the O2X. Well why is this a problem, well the lists were mainly of games that cost real money, all it would have took for someone to break the rules was to post a link to said games of how to get the said games for free, then this would have earnt that member a warning, or even an infraction, so to stop members getting themselfs in trouble, its just best to close the thread.
P.S - Thread Closed, next time anyone has something to ask me, please ask via PM.
The confessions thread has been deleted and it will not be coming back. It was a good idea and a lot of people found it useful and very beneficial, but that was ruined by some people being highly inappropriate and sometimes downright offensive.
Do not create another one - end of.
This thread is stickied so that all who used the original will see and know the thread is gone. This thread is also closed as this is not a discussion. I'm explaining what happened for the sake of the people that are losing out.
Ok, this is getting crazy over here. Why on earth can we not have a SINGLE THREAD about Android L? It is the biggest release for Android and some people are excited. Everybody was confined to one thread prior to this, and guess what? That thread was closed. Why? Because people were apparently "spamming questions" (I didn't read through the entire thread so I don't know exactly what was going down, but the last couple pages didn't see all that bad).
Every other thread now is getting shut down. Seriously, what does it matter if people are asking too much? They are excited! Closing all of these threads are just going to make new people (those who weren't here last night or today) keep posting more topics on the matter. So what if people are being annoying. That main thread that was closed still had some genuine people in it. Who cares if there are a few people throughout the thread asking too much? Let them be! At least it is in one thread and not making a mess of this and the Q&A forum, likes its been since the main thread was closed.
Let this topic stay please, and let anybody speculate, ask questions, build hype or whatever towards Dev preview!
May I just remind everybody who would say something along the lines of "Oh XDA is a developer forum not blah blah blah", which is what I have seen numerous times in these topics that have been closed:
Quoted Directly above the threads here in General!
"Since this is not a development section, you can post on general topics that all users will encounter with the Nexus 5. Any registered XDA user can post in this forum."
I believe all users will encounter Android L, so why can't there be speculation, posts about things that were discovered, new pictures ect.? Look I know it gets annoying, but that's when it is all over the forum. Can we just keep this one topic open and confine everybody to it? It will make those who want to talk about it happy for they have a place and it will make those annoyed happy for it is only one thread.
Noble cause, but it won't work. It will derail in a matter of seconds and none of us mods feel like taking on the burden of keeping it in check simply for speculation purposes. Wait for the test version to drop, until then nothing is allowed.
Thread closed.
