hey there, as the title says. I'm having a problem suddenly with my phone. I tried everything, reinserting the sim, swapping the sim slots, shutting it down, restarting it many times, resetting the mobile settings and clearing settings cache but to no avail.
I don't want to send it for repair yet, hope you can help me.
Try another SIM card, if you can. You never know, it might be faulty.
Have you done a factory reset?

Hello,
recently, my O2 sgs will only stay on "emergency calls only" in all different areas where it used to have signal before. I've tried to manually select the network and even though O2 is available, it doesn't connect (register) with it and says "unable to connect, try again later"
tried many different roms, differend modems, but no luck. fed up.
can anyone help me please?

Insanity cm 016/glitchv10c
modem problems
i've told that i already tried many different roms (cm, ezbase, miui...) and modems
I had the same problem with CM7 before after installing if GApps (Google Apps = Market, GMail, Youtube,...). Then I booted into recovery, wiped cache and Dalvik Cache (didn't help) and finally I chose 'fix permissions'. Now everythings is okay again.

have tried, but still it stays on "emergency calls only". what's weird is that it even doesn't call any emergency numbers (says out of service area)...
desperately need help with this, or should i just give it back to the o2 shop... android is the biggest pain...
But the SIM is inserted correctly? Have you tried another SIM? Maybe your SIM-card is defect.
ok, i had another t-mobile sim in my phone and it is working ok. but the o2-sim will not connect, even though it works on other phones well.
what's wrong???

Call O2 and ask vor a new sim because this one probably is damaged.
They'll send u a new SIM for free. I had a similar problem with a dual sim of t-mobile.
Is your phone SIM- or netlocked?
same problem here....suddenly it went emergency call only.have to reset and only then can get the signal back.it really pain in the neck
Mine is GT-i9100 btw
So a few days ago I went swimming with my N3 in my pocket. I pulled the battery (but not the SIM card) immediately afterwards and had it in rice within a few hours. I tried it 24 hours later, it boots up fine, everything works but I can't connect to cellular networks. The SIM works fine and the phone knows its there (it's not giving me an insert SIM error), but in settings it doesn't know the phone number, network, etc and obviously I can't connect to the network (WiFi is fine though). Also the SIM card is fine, I've tried it in other phones, and other phone's working SIMs don't work in my phone, and the microSD card is fine and works in the slot. Should I replace the SIM/microSD tray? Or try cleaning it out more? The contacts could be damaged somehow I guess. Thanks for the help guys
Did you check your apn settings to see if they are still there? Have you tried a different sim card in your phone?

Other working SIM cards have been tried and don't work, and I can't even access the APN settings when I click on mobile settings it says "Insert SIM card to access"
Sorry you're having trouble. There's definitely a bad connection somewhere. You can try to clean the contacts out in the SIM card slot. I'm not exactly sure how you would go about that since its a tight area. The next step would be to replace the SIM card slot. But there's no way of knowing if that would even fix it. Its just a starting point.
I recently set up a VZW developer edition for my gf and she had been using it without any problems for about 6 days. Today she tells me she got some kind of pop-up message/warning that she can't remember the details of. The phone then rebooted and all service was gone. The phone is basically acting as if there's no SIM inserted now. I tried rebooting multiple times with and without the SIM inserted and still the same thing.
EDIT: OK, so I think the message she saw was just for a SU binary update.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
It could just be a bad SIM card.

Yeah, it's either the SIM or the phone; easier to start with the SIM. I re-activated her old phone and ordered a new SIM priority overnight.

I had a similar problem, after first update in android 7.whatever my sim card worked but couldnt go online, just via wifi. I could make calls and recieve texts. I got a new simcard and that helped. Later Oreo came and my phone glitched out when i had the simcard installed. But when i took it out it worked. Sent it to nokia support center and got it back today, what happend? Yes the phone works, i can make and recieve calls/texts. But i cant go online without wifi. Asked my provider for a new sim card now, will return and write if that works.
and I have this problem. Have you found a solution?
Weird, my TA-1052 suddenly got this problem yesterday, SIM card state keep looping between detected and undetected, after several loops phone will reboot and reboot again and again.
But when I switch the card to the other slot and reboot, all things seem to be fine. Then at some random time of the day this problem shows up again and I have to switch the card back.
I can 100% reproduce this bug by insert 2 SIM cards together, phone will stuck in a loop and reboot, but logcat shows nothing suspicious.
Tried factory reset but nothing happened.
Since both SIM card slots actually work and I haven't updated system recently, I guess this shouldn't be hardware-related.
So, my sim cards get detected by the phone but I keep getting emergency calls only. I've tried resetting networking and factory reset. I even flashed a new rom but nothing seems to fix it.
Please help.
have you tried the card in another phone ?
I'd ring your network (somehow) and ask them to send out a new sim if they can't offer a better solution.
