Hi all,
I have had tasker for a while. Used it on 2.2.
Now I have got a new Android 9 phone (a Oukitel C15 Pro). I chose this as I wanted a dual sim as I volunteer for a charity and use another phone exclusively for that.
Whilst I can choose which sim to call on, there is no option to do the same for texts?
So I thought 'why not see if tasker can do it'? Problem is how?, what events.states etc. That is what I need some help with please.
I am thinking I would need my own scene, to enter text and number/name? The contact list in 9 has the option of a label. if I could use that, I would know which sim to use.
However I would still need to 'automate' the change of sim for texts.?
Has anyone done this, or perhaps have an idea as to where to start please?
TIA
It's possible to automate anything you would normally "tap" with your finger with João's Autoinput app ... It's amazing check it out !

Hi,
Since I've never had Windows Mobile device before but planning to get the recently announced Touch Pro I'm wondering how it'll handle SIM services.
The thing is that I'm using a special service with my provider that allows me to have two lines with different numbers on one SIM card. That way I can always receive incoming calls to both lines and switch between them two for outgoing calls.
I know that when I switch lines via the SIM menu it kind of resets the phone for a sec and registers again with the selected line. It works perfect with my Symbian N73 but how the Touch Pro will handle this?
I doubt that many people would know. You need to find someone else who has a WM device and the same special SIM service...
Perhaps you could create a thread about the special SIM service on the 'General' forum, in order to attract the attention of more users.
It uses a refresh like the dual sim's that have a STK menu. If the phone supports refresh it'll work. It should, but you never know.

Thanks, will do that.
Anyone..?
i had this service (2 lines on 1 sim) with orange and when i received my SPV M3100-Herms it only worked on one number
Hi all !
Does anyone of you also have issues when connecting a Dual SIM phone to AA and trying to place & receive calls ?
In my case - when i connect my OnePlus X (CM13 Custom ROM), AA and the Phone crashes if i do not set a default SIM for outgoing calls in the Phones SIM settings (Option "ask before each call").
I couldn´t try with Stock ROM because this caused Bluetooth Errors with the Cars Media System (no Contact Sync)
Headunit is a SEAT Media System Plus (Alhambra 7N 2016)
Hello fellow OpX user.
I've not got a secondary SIM so can't answer your question. However we are both using the same phone and head unit so I was wondering what your experience with AA is like?
I'm on stock and although it works well I do seem to get constant disconnects, especially if I'm travelling on a specific section of road I can guarantee it'll disconnect there.
Do you have issues this issue on cm13?
Oh and I fixed the Bluetooth contacts issue with an app called Bluetooth Phonebook. Just the HU can't read text messages
I think it is because of your ROM. I also use a custom CM13 Rom (Mokee, on a nubia z7 mini) and for me it works. The disadvantage however, is that I have to select which sim to use on the phone. So it does not offer me a choice on the headunit but only on the phone itself. If I do not select a sim on the phone, the call simply does not go trough.

Hi !
I'm running Sultans CM13 Rom for almost 3 months now and it's working perfectly well.
I have nearly no disconnects in AA and Bluetooth is also stable (phonebook, messages...)
The Problem i described in my first post was caused by my flip cover - when it's closed while connected to Bluetooth handsfree and i place a call the phone APP crashes - seems to be a common bug caused by proximity Sensor.
-> not ROM related..
At least for me switching to a custom Rom was the best decision....

Cheers @error23 that's interesting that you have no issues on Sultan's ROM. I'm beginning to suspect my issues lie with either GPS signal (but I think that'd be more random) or when switching between certain types of Cell Masts as it's always in particular locations or routes.
Out of interest, which country are you in and do you know which bands your network uses for LTE? I'm in the UK on o2 which only uses band 20 for LTE.
At the moment I'm running the OnePlus marshmallow community build.
Thanks

I'm in austria on the 3 network - using LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and 7 (2600MHz). I have no disconnects when changing cells, even not when it falls back to 3G or national roaming (which is 2G)
But - as mentioned - OOS didn't run stable with AA for me and i expect its Bluetooth related, but who knows

Guys, how did you solve that dual sim select when calling using Android Auto?

I am afraid there is no real solution. I still have to select the Sim card I want to use on my phone. It looks like Android Auto is not really ready for dual sim use. When using voice dialling however, it once asked me which sim I wanted to use. To this day, I am still waiting for it to happen a second time since it looks like a very useful feature.
I am using a Moto Z Play with 2 SIMs. The issue I have is that I am able to make phone calls from Android Auto ONLY if the SIM being used to make the call is the same SIM which is being used for data at that point in time.
I am unable to make the call if I use SIM 1 as my default Data SIM and SIM 2 as my Default Voice SIM and vice versa - the error I get is "Network not available".
I thing this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
Incoming calls seem to work fine though.
Anybody with similar experiences?
Best,
Krish
Yeap, that's me, unfortunately. I am waiting for a possible fix by Google, because it is rather uncomfort having to disable the 2nd SIM each time I enter my vehicle.

I am using Xiaomi Mi5 Global edition running Android 6.0.1 on MIUI version 8.1.2 Stable. Android Auto version running: 2.2.710804-release. Exactly same issue as yours.
My default SIM setup: SIM 1 for data and SIM 2 for calls and text. When using only one SIM for both calls and data, Android Auto works fine. However, with my dual sim setup, I get "Network not available" when I try to make calls. Incoming calls and texts are working fine though...
Hello,
Oneplus2 Oos 3.5.8
After some test I confirm that using same default SIM for both call and data is needed to use outgoing call in AA. If not (or if call setting is 'ask everytime'), I got the Network not found message.
Yesterday I did a real quick test with the app Dual Sim Selector Pro using basic settings. It did work, even if I was very surprised. Later I bought the app and start to configure my phone.
This morning, it was no longer working.
I was going to give up and I read this message about the android setting needed to be similar in data and call.
IT SEEMS TO WORK!!!!
My setup:
SIM 1 is for private matter and I use mostly this one for data
SIM 2 is work related
In Android settings:
Default call: SIM 1 (my dream setup was to use SIM 2 but w/e)
Default SMS: SIM 2 (mayble i'll have problem to use sms app but I dont use it while driving)
Default Data: SIM 1
In Dual Sim Selector pro:
Main screen: activated, SIM 1 as main
Automatic select screen: activated, and in group tab I've go my works groups with SIM2 and private groups with SIM1.
When using Android Auto, the calls are made with the right sim!!!!!
Anyone interested in a dual sim add-on for AA?
Hi everyone!
It is quite a while ago that someone last posted in this thread. So far I was reading in this forum regularly but did not post anything yet
Since I use a dual sim phone (Samsung Galaxy S10) with my private and my business sim card running in parallel I also was facing problems when dialing while driving with Android Auto - in phone screen mode, but I will get a new car with support for projection to in-dash head unit soon . AA does not allow me to select the sim card to dial with for the next call when Android Auto UI is shown.
This was anoying me so much that I started to develop a simple Android app which allows my to select the right sim card easily while driving. It is a kind of unofficial add-on for Android Auto. It is doing the job well now but is only tested on my personal device.
Are there other dual sim phone users in the XDA community that are interested in using / testing my helper / add-on app? If so I would try to publish it in Google Play Store as a public beta. It is free! Please give your brief feedback in this thread.
Regards, Gero

Hi, thanks for answering. Currently I am stuggling with getting the app approved by Google for publishing on Google Play Store. When it will be publically available for download I will invite you for beta testing

Hi, I am shortly going to have an mi5. One of the reasons I bought the phone was to have one phone and 2 SIMs thus doing away with the need to have two phones (personal and private) with me. But I am totally new to the whole dual sim thing. Can anyone explain how it works on the mi5?

All in all,
you get to choose if you want to use data from SIM 1 or SIM 2.
When u get att call it says Incomming call on <Call provider 1> or <Call provider 2>.
The same when you wanna call or text someone, either you tap SIM 1 or SIM 2. All of this could be configured in the settings menu.
Cool, thanks.
Hey all,
I recently purchased a p10 Dual.
I have 2 SIM cards.
a. Personal number
b. Business number.
I want to assign my Colleagues numbers to be called always and without the phone asking me every time, with SIM CARD b.
And all the other Calls to be made by my personal number.
I really can't find a way to do it, and I am definitely NOT technologically challenged.
Any insights?
Thanks in advance!
Dimitris
I have found no such thing either, BUT as there are two buttons for calling in the default phone app, it hasn't been such a problem. Also, if you pick a contact from the contacts list, the popup for calling will show which of your SIMs was used to call this number last time.
Another thing that amazed me, was how the integration with in-car hands free works. If i pick or enter a number with the car system, it actually automatically uses the last sim used to call that number. So you dont have to worry about choosing.
When calling from the phone, I guess it is a little bit more tedious to get used to huaweis method (I came from a dual sim LG G4, and there you had to swap SIM card calling, but you could assign numbers to sims so it would pick the sim automatically), but it took me around 1 month to not notice it any more.
There might be some third party Phone apps out there that can do this, but most of them are not that good overall - and googles own does not work with dual sim phones as far as I know.

I've been using True Phone for many years - previously with Xiaomi double-sim, now with Huawei - no problems at all. You can assign numbers, save the latest used as a default, etc.

I get that, but I still can't even imagine why the Car mode can memorize which SIM card Called Which number, but this cannot happen to the non-car mode.
Especially since this feature existed in much older android versions.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out. Although, using a Dialer in 2018 is not my best choice. It reminds me my Experia X10 and its terrible UI.
I tried Dual SIM selector.
The basic principal works for me, but it doesn't work every time, and it is tiring.
Anyone been able to use H2O wireless SIM from the old phone in this phone? It does not even recognize there is SIM is present!
Anyway to hide or remove the g.pay from the top bar?
Show seconds on the top bar?

I know I tried to use an old sprint sim in my 3Xl once I upgraded to Barbet and TMobile said that the sim was still tied to the old device. It could be that you need a never-used sim if that is even a thing. I have figured out how to double-tap the back of the device to launch an app, you could google double tap back and then have that open a flashlight/routine of some sort maybe. I believe there is also a Magisk mod released for all google devices that changes some functions of the notification/time etc. Look around more and you'll find some of your answers either in the forum here or through google search.
Good luck!
Solved!! H2O wireless problem. Got a new H2O starter SIM, the phone recognized it. Then I called H2O to swap my old number to the new number. Now I have both Fi (eSIM) and H2O SIM card working. If it did not work, the phone was going back.
Put the new SIM into the old phone it works there too.
Still looking for answers to items 2,3,4 from my first post.

2 and 3 are build into LineageOS. Don't know about shake to trigger flashlight.
Shake to trigger flashligh - Really missing the convenience. I think it was native Android feature wish Google would put it back in.

Pretty sure that's a motorola specific feature, not android. Either way, it does have it's uses.

My Samsung phones also had the feature.
I did find an app that appear to work well, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.rnazarevych.shaketorch. I needed to adjust the sensitivity to max.
I am from India, where Google missed Pixel 6 series, and Pixel 5a launch is coming soon. Should I buy 5a or wait for my brother to get it from Europe?
