swipe gesture to go back - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

hi, i felt that side swipe to go back is inaccurate, most of the time i had to reswipe to get it triggered. did you face the same issue?

It is actually tricky to swipe back if you use protective case with thick edge protection. That is why I used only button navigation bar on my Mate 10 Pro..it was impossible to swipe over the edge of case..

As @rodjoo mentioned earlyer, it might be an issue from screen protector (especially if you use Glass Protector wich doesn't cover all phone's screen) or your protective case. I've never encountered problems when swyping back or up. I'm using screen protector and case from Spigen.

Spen scratching my screen protector and home button question

I got a used galaxy note in tip top condition and decided to apply a new clear screen protector. My only problem is that each and everytime I use my SPen with any kind of pressure (except the really really light ones) my screen protector gets scratched! This is absolutely appalling and my screen protector is the same brand I always use for all my phones which I have never had a problem before. I've read on the forums about some people claiming that the Spen should not scratch the screen because it was designed for that BUT I tried out another Spen on my note and it didn't leave a single mark! Now I'm left thinking that my pen was probably modified or damaged or something but it looks pristine in all angles.
Are there samsung ICS roms that have the home button lag / double click feature disabled? I'm running rocket rom and can't seem to find it.
Lastly, can anyone try sliding their finger and applying pressure on the home button on the left or right hand side? I tried it on mine and I could have sworn the whole button slopes down and this is making me worried.

proximity sensor issues? att varient

Anyone notice their proximity sensor is very flaky?
The screen will not shut off when I close my wallet cover over it. It will shut off when I start talking on the phone, but then will not "wake" when I move it away to hang up. I actually couldnt find anyway to wake it up so i just waited until the other side hung up (it was a recorded msg).
Any ideas? I may just shut off the proximity sensor and wait till I can swap it in store. Of course this was right after i installed a tempered glass screen .... would that impact it at all??thx!

It seems that certain brands of tempered glass screen protectors are causing the same issue that you describe.

My tempered glass has a cutout for the 2 sensors on the left, are there any sensors on the right of the speaker? My proximity sensor also is not working. I will probably return my tempered glass also if this is the case...
This is happening to me and I don't have a screen protector. It's really getting annoying.
I'm having issues as well.... Not using any screen protector or whatsoever...
Yeh same here.. Looks like the sensor is maybe too sensitive. Hope sw can fix this.
+1 for the issue.
Cannot hang up after a call because the screen is black. Have to push the power button to wake it up first.
No screen protector.

I just restored a backup of the original rom and the problem went away. So it's probably an issue with cm. Was on cm nightly from 01-13-2014
Did you try going to settings , accessibility , power button ends call, toggle that on and off.
After completing the above mentioned step. Reboot your phone and try making a call. I hope the issue get resolved.
I tried this step on an unrooted phone, which was recieved just yesterday.
I got this fix from some other thread.
Is there a way to turn off proximity sensor without rooting? Looked through setting and must have missed it. Thanks in advance.
Still having this issue as well. I tried toggling the power button option then restarting my phone, it seems to help for a very short period of time (few hours maybe). I have tried several different screen protectors, the most recent ones having a cut out for the sensor and there is a decent gap between the two. Reloaded my phone several times and installed 5.0.1
The sensor doesn't really work to turn on the display when I go to pickup the phone and is spotty when making a call. In the first minute or so of the call, I can take the phone away from my head and it will register, illuminating the screen, after that it stops working.
I can't understand how it could be the screen protector at this point, it's no where close to obstructing the sensor.
Guess it's time to send this thing back. I must be nuts because I keep trying this power button suggestion and it just doesn't work for me longer than a few hours.
Same here, using a plastic rinkage screen protector no bubbles in it and the edge falls a good few MM from the sensor.
CM12 nightly builds still do it I'm on the 2/19th build with Franco kernel.
Best solution is get rid of the junk and get a Note 4. Mine is such a crap phone. It doesn't even do anything special except be big.
Hi,
Just to tell that I've got this pb since I installed the Spigen crystal protection, not even a tempered glass.
Before that I still had the original cheap film you get when you unbox, with the white corner.. the crystal is really nicer but it screws the sensor...
I believe it is software related. I have a tempered glass screen protector that does not cover the proximity sensor. I have noticed that about 60% of the time the screen does not turn back on when I move the phone away from my head. It seems to happen more when the phone call is longer than one minute. I also had a tempered glass protector that covered the sensor and had the same behavior. I did use an app to test the proximity sensor and with both screen protectors it worked 100% of the time using the app.

[Q] Problem with Ambient display notification after screen protector installed

Started noticing the ambient notification (when you pickup the phone the screen supposedly emit the black/white display) is gone, right after I'd installed one of those eBay tempered glass screen protector.
The cutout of the glass, I do not think it obstruct either the camera lens or anything else.
Anyone have this problem? If so, how to remedy this issue (without having me take off the protector...lol). Thx.

You will need a different screen protector - one that does not cover the sensor.
Before you do that, you can try the suggestion at this link to see if it helps

Help! Screen popping out

I have always had my N6 in a basic spigen case, but noticed that one side is higher to the edge of the case than the other, I always thought it was the case. But the other day I looked a bit deeper and found that the screen is coming away from the body in the bottom right all the way up to the side buttons.
It is coming away from the thin black bezel as opposed to the coloured middle body. I first thought that maybe the LiPo was swelling and pushing it out (as it feels like it is forcing out as you can push it back down but springs straight back up again) so I took the back cover off and checked, the battery looks fine with no obvious puffyness.
So before I pull it fully apart to get at the screen:
How is the screen attached to that thin black bezel? Or, how is the screen adhered in place?
I have watched a few screen replacement videos but once they detach the screen from the middle body obviously they don't explain any further. I am hoping that the screen is adhered like the back panel so I can just clean and re-stick with new double sided tape.

S-Pen Over Sensitive

My S-Pen is over sensitive. It activates when it's very close to the screen or when I barely touch the screen briefly. Very annoying. I have a tempered glass screen protector but still it's over sensitive. I have seen many solutions to increase sensitivity, but not to decrease it. Is there solution for this?
Did you increase the sensitivity because of the screen protector? Is is better, for spen at least, if the sensitivity is on default setting?
Define, "activates." What does it do?
With default settings, and a glass screen protector, my phone recognizes the S Pen when it is within 12mm - about 1/2 inch - from the screen. That's when the little circle appears, and the Air Command button highlights (for example). I rather think it's supposed to work like that. You shouldn't need to touch the pen to the screen or apps like Glance wouldn't work.
The s-pen detects pressure by sensing how hard the nib is pressed, thus the phone can recognise by determining where the pen is on the screen and the pressure exerted (you can test this by pressing the nib with your finger, and hover your s-pen on something you want to click)
You could try removing the nib and re-inserting it back, if that helps

No, the Touch Sensitivity is turned off in Settings.

By activate, I mean it will launch apps on the home screen, open links in by web browser, etc. I get the little circle when my S-Pen is close to the screen and it works as it should. That's not the problem.

I tried replacing the nib, but it makes no difference. I have a second S-Pen that came with the phone and it does the same thing. So, I don't think it's the S-Pen that is the problem, it's the sensitivity of the screen.
