Anyone flash the EU & UK Rom version? Wondering if it has more features like Chinese Rom but with Google Play.
Yes, only copy the firmware .zip in to root mobile and go to the ajust ans select the 3 point of "up_right".
Select "upload from internal memory" and let's go

I got mine from UK website (https://uk.redmagic.gg) and the ROM that came with it seems to be the normal Global ROM, meaning no extra features like the Chinese ROM. AND still stuck with March security update really hope we get some updates for this phone, it kinda needs it xD

Same here, from the same site, unfortunately I can't use it, I'm on EE and when someone calls me, instead of seeing the caller name or number, I only get Unknown Caller.
What network are you on?

Mine is working fine, I'm on Virgin, which is an EE affiliate, so same network basically, but I do get the call is working just fine, if you can, do a factory reset and if it asks to restore apps from a previous phone, say no to that and setup as a new device, just to see if it's a backup that's messing the caller ID, had that before, but with SMS messages.
@hugoprh I already did a reset, no backup, same result...
It's working properly on any other network, except EE..

That is really strange you can call EE and say you've lost your SIM card, that way they will send you a new one, could be a really old SIM card you have and it's missing some feature the red magic needs, maybe...

I had some looon conversations with EE support... It ended with " I suggest you to buy a phone from us to avoid these problems" ).
But it's a good idea to try a new SIM, maybe that's the culprit.
Many thanks

Hi,
I recently rooted my phone so that I can utilise it with a new Appradio2. It was running fine until yesterday when phone calls and texts stopped working all together, though data still works fine.
The phone occasionally pops up with an 'MM #6' error which appears to be caused then the phone IMEI has been locked out. I have been in contact with my phone provider (Giff-Gaff) and they have stated the phone isn't locked out.
My phone details are:
* Model no: C6603
* Android Version 4.1.2
* Baseband version 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110017-11
* Kernel version 3.4.0-g298631f-02021-gc1b7814
* Build number 10.1.A.1.434
The rooted apps I have been playing with are GMG Gesture, Greenify and Pimp My Rom.
I believe I was playing with Pimp My Rom before the issues were caused but I cannot remember what I changed. I also backed the phone up with Titanium Backup before the problem started and restored that backup yet it has not rectified the problem.
My last restort, unless anyone knows how I could resolve this is to return it to it's pre-rooted state and start again.
Any help would be grately appreciated.

where did you buy the phone? if you buy it from a shady dealer they might have report it stolen and tell your celluar service to block the IMEI...I know this happen alot on GS3 forums or check to see if your IMEI has been deleted off your phone, flashing sometime does this too, again this is on GS3

I bought it direct from Amazon so I doubt that is the problem. Additionally I asked my Phone Network Providor and they said they can't see a problem with the IMEI.
Thanks for the reply.

Yes I typed in *#06# on my phone and checked my IMEI number appeared fine. I then sent that to GiffGaff (my mobile network provider) asking whether it had been blocked and they said it hadn't.

I'll try un-rooting it and see if that resolves the problem. If it doesn't then I'll return it to the supplier and get a replacement. That won't be such a bad thing as I have a little scratch on the screen anyway.
Thanks for the help

Then as already advised reflash and start from scratch which is what you should just do in these situations because no one can help unless you can list exactly what you've done.

Just to update you all, I unrooted and reflashed the phone and the error remained. Since then I've been in contact with the phone supplier (AVTree LTD, via Amazon.co.uk) and they have stated that they have had several complaints regarding phones from the same supplier recently and have forwarded the information onto Suffolk Police to look into. They have also said that they will offer me a full refund and will cover the cost of returning the phone.
Looking on the bright side at least it appears that I didn't do anything to kill the phone. I have also ordered a new one that is now £60 cheaper than the price I bought the last one for.
Thanks for all your help.

Doesn't sound good but at least you've not lost anything.
Hello all,
I tried searching but couldn't find some of the info I needed on this and was hoping to get some answers here.
I have a Droid 4, I have it rooted and am running Liquid Smooth on it. So far so good, works like a charm.
I go to Brazil often and needed a phone there, so I was just going to bring my droid and insert a chip. The actual radio / phone will work, but it would not send any text messages to save its life. It wasn't a 3G / account with internet service so I couldn't even check that piece of it unfortunately.
But I was wondering if there is anything specific I need to do in order to get it to work outside the country that I'm missing. Or if it is the lack of data package, and why would calls work but not SMS?
And and all help is appreciated.
Anyone?
what do you mean insert a chip ? another sim card or so
Yep, another Sim card from another country.

k that's good
to get it to work in brazil you have to change some build.prob entries to get it work there
the telephone is not a global phone it ist locked by verizon but outside US you can use GSM Network and to get work you have to change some things
use a build.prob editor you finde some in the store
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0
ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone=1
ro.telephony.default_network=3
ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=0
ro.mot.phonemode.vzw4gphone=0
persist.radio.lte.mm.disable=1
ro.mot.lte_on_cdma=0
persist.radio.ap.phonetype=1
but it could be thet if you go back to verizon that you have to change it again

I used my Droid 4 in Germany with no problem this spring. Calls, SMS, data - everything worked. I did have a data package with the SIM, so IDK if that is necessary to send SMS. You probably have to check with the carrier....
When I logged into the network the first time the carrier automatically send me some packages to install the necessary APNs and settings via SMS and I was good to go. when I returned, I just popped in the Verizon SIM and the phone automatically reverted to the Verizon APN.
I am on rooted stock.

Since you are running a custom rom, you may want to read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766479
I just got my new unlocked S10 all set up dialed in. Model SMG973U1ZBAX.
I put in my AT&T SIM card in and went to turn on Wifi calling and couldn't find it. I've since learned that if you have an unlocked phone, you can USE the AT&T network, but you can't get Wifi calling (which is a must for me), Visual Voicemail or HD Voice.
Instead of flat out returning it, can I just flash the AT&T ROM and it would be as if it was a a stock AT&T phone?
I know I would get all the bloatware and stuff like that, But I have to have wifi calling.
Are there links yet to Stock AT&T ROM for the S10? I couldn't find any on the site.
Thanks

Yes you can there's a thread somewhere in here with specifics on how to do it. I know you have to flash thru patched Odin and make sure you also flash userdata and csc to corresponding carrier.

Root is unrelated to firmware flashing. You only need Odin and the fw package. Your computer may, or may not need the Samsung USB drivers to be recognized.
Samfirm can be used to pull updates. You might find it on sammobile or updato, haven't checked.

Sigh. Well. I can report and confirm that you can not use Wifi calling on the AT&T network with an unlocked S10.
Even though I loaded stock AT&T firmware, and was up to date, it just won't work. Gotta return the phone.
I've been dealing with their advanced tech team for over a week and they said that because the IMEI number shows it's an unlocked phone, the system keeps denying Wifi calling.
We actually got it to work at one point. It was a 3 day process with one of their techs forcing my IMEI number through their system. It worked for about an hour, then their system caught it and kicked out it's provisioning.

Galaxy S10 unlocked ATT firmware question
Hi I recently got Galaxy S10 Unlocked phone on online. At first i didnt get ATT wifi calling options appeared in my phone. Later i followed same thread that has 973U ATT firmware links, and flashed using ODIN. I can see all ATT apps and ATT wifi calling option now but i cannot enable it. When i enable it i got a message saying we cannot turn on WIFI calling on this a device and error code EDS0008. I tried to call ATT folks, but they are saying WIFI calling and HD voice is not supported on this unlocked device. Somehow they are seeing 973U1 as model number, but i had 973U as model number. I tried chaining sim to old iphone and I saw WIFI calling is working with IPHONE, but its just this phone I am seeing error. I am not sure what to do now. Did you see this issue ?
Can you give me exactly about the files you used and post steps to get att wifi calling ?
sorry for posting questions in multiple threads
I have an unlocked S10e and I use T-Mobile and before even flashing T-Mo firmware, I did have WiFi calling out of the box. Change carrier

Your best bet is to do an exchange for an AT&T version.
You can Flash the AT&T firmware. But there will be no way in h*** for you to actually enable the Wi-Fi calling feature since they block those IMEI numbers on their servers. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. YOU MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO REVERT IT BACK TO THE OTHER FIRMWARE.

Yes, that post and a couple others. Pretty painless process TBH.
I can confirm Wifi calling works, HD voice and a WAY WAY WAY better signal. Prior to flashing to ATT I could barely use my phone on my subway ride home... Now it works very well the entire trip.

I'm away from the computer I did it on but I used the SAT1 firmware file and then manually updated all the way back up to the June update.
The updating part is/was a major PITA as it wiped the device each time. I'm hoping i'll get OTA's when they are released. Time will tell.
I'm in the Bay Area on ATT and it activated right away on the base february firmware I installed initially. Also I don't think I did any userdata stuff as I don't remember choosing it... I'll update this post tonight when I can check all the files I d/loaded on my machine at home.
Couple other things:
I can't find it right now but I followed a post that stated to make sure the SIM and SD card were removed during the flashing process. Not sure if that makes a difference.

did you ever run the unlocked firmware on ATT or did you flash to att before ever using an active sim? i had heard some speculation that once you run an unlocked phone, then it gets registered as "non att"... keep in mind this is 3rd hand info and hearsay.
edit. i guess i failed to read you short post... i see "prior to flashing" spelled out for me right there....

Any chance you found those other posts you mentioned above? I continue to be unable to get wifi calling on my phone.
By the way for anyone else, while I did not get wifi calling, visual voicemail, etc. I do see an improvement on my cell reception over the ATT network.
Ops sorry, thought I replied.
Here it is:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79156802&postcount=5
I followed those steps exactly.
I had this happen in 3 different instances:
1) Come back to the phone, which was lying on the table, to find that it was restarted. Happened 3 times in 5 minutes.
2) Another time, the phone restarted for no reason - I came back and it was asking for pattern instead of fingerprint because it restarted.
3) In a 20 minute drive, the phone restarted twice, which was announced by the Bluetooth car unit. I stopped each time and verified that the phone actually restarted.
At first, I thought it was me holding the power button wrong and it getting stuck.
But I have tried my best to not push the power button in any weird way, and then it still happened.
Moreover, here's an interesting exchange between, apparently, ZTE and users. Credit to oberio28:
5, sometimes the phone will automatically restart, how is this going?

Just updated from 1.11 to 1.15 NA. Going to see if that fixes reboots.
Also, why the hell doesn't the phone remember the Bluetooth volume level? Is that a Pie thing?

Thanks for the info.
Do you know anything about this problem?
"I use ATT as as carrier, and I tried several of their sim cards. As soon as I install the card, that Sim slot (1 or 2) truncates its IMEI from 15 to 14 digits, so it thinks that's it's a CDMA sim card. I think this is the reason why I cannot access GSM calling settings such as Call Forwarding. It says "Network or Sim card error."

I use ATT prepaid mine does the same but the last digit is a check, meaning once sim is activated it helps hide your full IMEI. I get 4g LTE and no Voice HD calling, hence it always reverts to 4g/3g in calls. Got to love US carriers.

Thanks. It was explained to me at an ATT store that Voice over LTE was not available for a prepaid plan.
However, can you change Call Forwarding settings (I cannot, and I am not sure what the problem is):
Phone app / ... / Settings / Calling accounts / AT&T / GSM call settings / Call forwarding / Voice
?
Mine gives me reply "Call settings error , Network or SIM card error."

Yeah I get the same error, I don't think it's phone though. My other phone is Poco F1 and its all custom ROM with no LTE bands and it does the same. But both can transmit/receive calls with same sim though...I think its more the network and not being AT&T branded phone.

Thanks. Here's more info that may be relevant.
1) Oneplus 6, global version, doesn't have this problem, that is not being able to set up call forwarding from the phone.
2) Whenever AT&T sim card is inserted into a slot (1 or 2), that slot truncates its IMEI from 15 to 14 digits by removing the last digit.
So, if without the sim card IMEI 1 is XXX...XXX5, it becomes XXX...XXX when the sim card is inserted into slot 1. Same happens to IMEI 2 if the card is inserted into slot 2.

Out of interest... do you have a direct line to the developer team?!
If so, can you give us some info please on what they are working on, if and how we can report bugs or suggestions etc.

Great, thanks Jerry. So do you monitor these forums and report back issues/suggestions to Nubia?
Are we able to ask you questions/make software suggestions to you?

Thanks for trying to help fellow Nubians BTW, the XDA review of RM3 was disastrous, IMO. So unfair. Whoever did that review needs to go back to basic training.

Done.
So many people are reporting with the 3/1 sweep by AT&T, that they are blocking almost all Unlocked phones: See: Downdector Link We personally have a S10 (G973U1). AT&T is saying on this list: AT&T approved phone list that it is supposed to work. But like many other people "calls" end immediately, but we can text and data work. It is some sorta ploy by AT&T to force us to upgrade our phones. They want us all to upgrade to S22s. Anyway I was ranting. Anyway, if you look at that link, they are saying that the phone has to be on the latest software. The last update from AT&T or the manufacturer was in January. I checked the firmware site, and Android 11 is the latest in January. I'm wondering if there is some hack to get us on to '12' or something. An update might solve this issue. We know that a new SIM does not work. Calls seem to be rejected on the network, just based on the phone model or Android version.
We are aware that a version 12 is out there for the phone, just that firmware is not for our US-unlocked model yet. But maybe it can be hacked?
Edit: It appears this thread may be linked with this older one... But it is ever more pressing issue now:
S10 Unlocked phone with AT&T Firmware here they explain how, and the problems with flashing. This was back in 2019, so I'm not sure if this will still work. Even then it didn't work for everyone. Some in that forum claimed that it did. AT&T seems to now be blocking from their calling network any phones not enabled with VOLTE and the extended AT&T services that are not present in Unlocked phones.

I was helped by a user to achieve ascendance onto the AT&T network. I'm not sure if I'm to reveal his name. We 1) go into Developers mode on the phone. 2) Hack the Kernel. 3) Flash the rom to the G973U (model)... with the AT&T firmware. So that the Wifi-Calling and 5G features would work, and AT&T would allow it on their network.

I've literally been searching for an answer to this for days now. My wife and I have S10's. I work far from home so I really need her phone working in case of emergency. Can you please point me in the general direction? Thanks!
Agreed, I didn't know such a thing was possible, but I'd love to hear more about this!

At first I had to use the Samsung Band Selector app from the Play store and go into More Network Settings > AT&T > Preferred Network Type and choose 3G. Unfortunately this killed LTE so all data and calls were going through H+. As I was mostly on wifi I could live with it since I could actually use the phone again.
Then Friday morning I checked for updates and there was the update to take me to Android 12. I took the update then when it finished it said it needed to reboot to connect new SIM to carrier services....it wasn't a new SIM. I let it reboot and everything was working with VoLTE again.
Hope this helps.
