Are there any double tap to wake or swipe gestures when screen off for the Note 4 et?

It's something I love using on my Nexus 5 (through ElementalX kernel) and on my OnePlus One. Curious if there's a kernel implementation on the Note 4 (Snapdragon version).

Ah, the tap to lock/unlock on the ElementalX Nexus 5 was amazing. I posted something like this a while back in a development thread, the developer said he would give it a shot but we haven't heard anything since.
bumping this up a few months later. just ran saw two reviews for Xnote and another ROM, neither seemed to have the feature implemented but i'm hoping it wasn't shown?
anyone? if i'm going back the lack of a response meaning those features don't exist, then i'm surprised. off screen gestures are a great way to skip tracks when the phone is mounted in the car. i know the long press volume button is a popular choice but that requires actual pressure.

There is some chatter about this possibility coming to a future update for the custom "Emotion" Note 4 kernel. No promises but many requesting and the dev giving it some interest.

I can't tell you if better than vision or not as I'm not familiar with that kernel. I can say it is a pretty nice & stable kernel (my preference so far) on my 910T. Yes, it is also available for th 910F See it's thread here---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/tw-kernel-emotroid-team-t2990557

Good point there. I can't tell you if I recall any chatter in that thread here on xda I linked you to in last post. I would suggest you search it with CM 12 or such keywords OR make a post in that thread asking if compatible. :good:

Google Camera Question

Is this apk just for the Pixel phone?
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...-017-253834016-android-apk-download/#variants
jd14771 said:
I just downloaded the gcam for the snapdragon variant.
In the future, the gcam port is dependenant on the phone it's intended for, otherwise you need to adjust the settings manually.id highly suggest not touching ANY settings in the camera app that are in the " settings" menu. You can change the camera modes and stuff but don't touch the settings menu.
As for whitch version to download, any gcam that is in red and Bold is a stable working non beta version.

OK, but does that apk work for the snapdragon version of the Note 9.

Yes I did. You told me what you did, what I should do, gave me a couple links to sites...but you never answered the question. Yes or No would have been sufficient since I know all the other stuff already. I just wanted to know if that link was just for the Pixel, since the article didn't make that clear.
BTW, I have changed many of the settings (as suggested when they came out) in earlier versions to get them to work.
Thanks anyway.
So can anyone point me to the correct gcam for my Note 9 Snapdragon? I assume the latest and greatest Google cam port is pretty much install and use as is? I'm seeing several in Red and bold.. Haven't been keeping up lately. Thanks

And these are the kind of pics it produces (just took this a minute ago).
Everyone says you make no adjustments to the settings, yet unless I'm living on Venus, green pics are not what I want.

that may be but i wonder if the gcam port for SD devices has a hidden load config file menu for .xml profiles like the exynos gcam port has.
i guess only you may be able to check it out.
swipe to the "more" section and tap the black area below...

I have a snapdragon, and the gcam port I listed works perfect on my device. Not sure why it's giving the usual green tint problems with k. The one I linked to has the settings baked into it so it's load and go.

Yeah, that's a huge update size. Maybe there are some ,,under the hood'' updates. Let's wait and see what ,,goodies'' it will bring before the Q (EMUI 10) update

Yep, you're right. But as i've seen on Beta Q video from YouTube, beside a tweaked visual experience with slightly altered icons and UI elements alongside the new system-wide font, better multitasking and the camera app redesigned with some more functionality alongside with GPU Turbo 4.0 and the second gen ARK Compiler i don't think we will get something else, at least not for 2-3 firmware updates on Q. But let's wait and see, maybe they will surprise us with some improvements on camera overall

That's why they will launch Mate 30 PRO, with new camera lens and different algorithms and chipset Kirin 985/990 which will support 60fps/4K video and so on ...?
On the other hand, i would appreciate if the Huawei team responsable for camera optimisations for P30 PRO could take a lesson from the OnePlus team, which released 4 firmware updates for One+7 Pro and really done a good job.

A buddy of mine has One + 7 Pro. He told me that since buying his phone he received some updates that significantly improved his photo quality (compared to the OOB firmware). Now we know everyone has an opinion about the quality of the pictures and praise their cameraphone, but apart from the S10 + after the new camera software update, the P30 pro does not have a rival .

I'm too on c431 178 firmware but no update. Would be nice if you can share it.
According to Phone Arena post on Instagram, Honor 20 PRO got the same update size (check link and attached photo). That's a weird and unusualy big update
Could it be something to do with the current US sanctions against Huawei, so they possible could have completely decopuled Android in case Google can't provide assistance in the future?

Question about games not playing full screen?

I just got the Pixel 5 and I'm curious why some games are showing up full screen but most cut off the left side right under the notch? Is there a way to fix this or is it on the developer? It's odd because on my S20 Plus the same games play full screen with no issues so it seems to be a Pixel thing?
Still no solution? Got a Pixel 4a and this is exactly my problem aswell..how bad.

It's not just games. A lot of apps do that in landscape as well, like Google Maps and Telegram. There's a new Magisk module that fixes it though.
Download the module from here.
Flash it with Magisk Manager and reboot.
Go to settings > Developer Options and scroll down to "Display Cutout" and choose the Pixel 5 option.
That's it, no more black bar.

See my reply above. This mod will work for you too, but the Pixel 5 option might not work as well as the OnePlus FHD choice. Try them both to see which works best.

Wow. It is ugly and annoying. It looks like Google is not even trying to fix it. Since I just bought my Pixel 5, I only have 2 choices to fix the issue. Return the phone and get a different brand or root my new phone to fix the problem.
So much for pure Android experience.
