Unable to switch calls through headset. - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
So I have recently noticed this issue or a bug where I am unable to switch calls through wired headset or bluetooth headset on my Huawei P30 pro, so basically when I am already on a call and the other call is on wait I can easily switch to second call with the help of answer button on the headset it doesnt work. ( have used oneplus 6 and iphone x and it works on them)

[Q] using bluetooth headphones/ video

Hey all,
I have HD7 and listen to music when travelling, everything works fine. But just recently I attempted to watch a film and the sound will not play through the Bluetooth headphones, it transfers the sound to the speakers? Anyone know how to change this at all??

Hi, I noticed the same issue on mine and there seems no way to change it.
I will offer a thought on why i think is happening.
On my other Android phones only the Galaxy S actually did a good job of keeping the audio and video in sync when using Bluetooth A2DP. The protocol has buffering in it so for audio its no problem but video can be tricky.
I think they just set it to not use Bluetooth for video audio to save complaints.
shame.

Hello, do you have the possibility to call a contact with the voice ( voice dialing) by the headset like on the HD1 ( and not on the HD2) ?
Thanks

I don't know whether you can activate the voice dialing using purely the headset, but you can use voice dial through a bluetooth headset. Just connect the headset and then hold down the start button until it asks you to speak. It works no matter which app you're using.
It also works without the headset.
bluetooth headphones
Hi,
To Russ, i previously had a Touch Diamond 2 and used these same headphones and it worked perfectly. I actually believe it has something to do with Zune and the player that they use?, it cant recognise that a headset is attached and therefore reverts to the speakers.
With regards to activating the voice dialing, with my bluetooth headphones which are Sony ericsson ones, it has an answer button, which when pressed with no incoming call it activates the voice dialling just as usual saying the same "Call mum".

Thank you, goood news because the HD2's bluetooth stack wasn't able to hear the voice dialing by the blutooth headset , and it only works only by the HD2's microphone.
Thank you

I am not sure if you are still looking for this, but YES, the voice dialing can be activated using the BT Headset. I have a Voyager Pro Plus and it works just fine.
As per the original thread title, I am having the same problem playing video files audio not getting transmitted via my BT Headset, So I called HTC to ask them what was the problem. They confirmed it is a software issue.
He said, it was a WP7 limitation. May be the future updates might get that feature, but right now it SUX. I am not sure how MS managed to F#$% this up. I am really Pissed. I was waiting for ever for this Headset so that I can watch my movies during my commute with the convenience of a BT Headset, now the whole purpose is lost.

Error while using headphone

I've recently purchased a lovely headset from XiaoMi for my Huawei P20Pro.
It's Mi ANC & Type C In-Ear Earphones. Model: JZEJ01JY.
It has lovely audio and works fine with most of the features except...
When I made calls, the headphone will not hear any sound at all. no dial tone, not even when someone picked up the phone on the other end.
I noticed a quick fix for this error is to turn on the handsfree mode when you made the call; after you hear the sound from the handsfree mode, turn off the hands-free, then the sound will start coming in through the headset.
Another option is to wait until you hear the dial tone then only plugged in the headset.
It is not quite ideal considering the hassle of having to do so.
The error was so niched that I could not find generic help online at the moment.
Anyone shares the same pain or could provide some help here? Thanks!
Sounds like a compatibility issue. Use the stock earphones and check of the problem also persists.
Same problem with stock headset
Hi, same issue with the original headset that came with the P20 phone. Same clumsy solution. Have you solved it?...

Bluetooth call issues

I am having issues when I am connecting my k20 pro with my car's Bluetooth for answering phone calls. The Bluetooth gets connected and music plays using Bluetooth without any issues, but the call volume output doesn't come from the Bluetooth. Has anyone else face this issue?

Have you installed a custom ROM, or are you on official MIUI?
I know in call Bluetooth audio doesn't work on GSI ROMs.
I am on official miui rom

I've not seen anyone else complain of this on official MIUI. Have you tried other Bluetooth devices like headsets?
I never stuck with MIUI long enough to try Bluetooth, so there's not much I can suggest.

I haven't tried with any other blue tooth device yet. Let me try it out.
Bluetooth sound breaks continuously while playing audio in car
When i connect my k20 pro using Bluetooth to my car audio, the music breaks continuously, i have tried with other phones but the problem is only seen in this k20 pro, i tried it in another car audio system same problem
I have also the same issue... Problem is with K20 pro.... Reset 2 times but still the problem is not resolved... Most annoying thing that Mi service center can do only Hard Reset as first and last solution...
I have no issues with the audio, issue happened only with the call functions. I suspect it to be a compatibility issue with my car. Since k20 pro has Bluetooth 5g, however my car doesn't have this.

Bluetooth is backward compatible. Like if you have a capable device, it will use all the features the host supports.
One tip: If you go into Developer Settings on your phone, you can hard-set the Bluetooth settings.

Is the issue reported by you above connected to the Bluetooth issue of this thread?

I'm having the same issue, the audio comes from the loud speaker of the phone.
On the screen on the phone you can see that the audio is connected to the car Bluetooth, you can then select loudspeaker or normal audio , if you swap the audio to a different channel and then revert back to the car Bluetooth it is connecting correctly to the Bluetooth
I am having the same issue
I have redmi k20... Over Bluetooth music is fine, but over call the person can't hear you...
I tried everything.... Restarting my phone, pair unpair Bluetooth, even hard reset my phone... It started working for 2 calls after hard reset but it is again causing problrms
same problem here.
when I connect my K20 to my car via BT, music breaks after 2-3 songs, and car controls (next song/previous song) stop working.
also, when I connect my BT Bose headphones, sometimes sound does not come through (mic works)
anyone found a solution?

That sounds more like a battery optimization issue. Try turning off battery optimization AND set App battery saver to "no restrictions" for your music player.
I had the same issue with Xiaomi Redmi 9
Hard reset solved it.

Bluetooth audio going through phone mic for any third party application.

1} please note this is happening with ALL MY BLUETOOTH HEADSETS. this is not a headset issue .
2) please note this happened when I was on emui 9,AND AFTER EMUI 10 UPGRADE .. problem persisted . It probably happened after a security update at some point on EMUI 9.
3)phone reset was performed but the issue remains .
Problem description: when using my Bluetooth headset, the microphone from the phone is the one being used instead of the mic on the headset. This is true for all third party applications(WhatsApp voice recorder, etc ..). As for phone calls (native), the mic from the Bluetooth headset is the one that works ..
I want all the voice to go through the headphones as they should when I have it on. my Bluetooth headset has noise canceling for mics and when i send voice notes or record something it makes a big difference.
update: I went into a huawei service center today and I took 3 or 4 buds headsets with me and described the problem. then I borrowed one of their units (honour or something) and I was able to replicate the issue. So this is not a p30 pro issue but a huawei issue..

Interesting..I disabled VoLTE calls (use 4G LTE data to place HD calls) and now the mic on headset works. So I am wondering 1) why would it do that? 2) how important is that setting?
thanks

Question Ringtone passthru to BT headset

Hi all,
on my OP Nord 2 when using my BT headset it passed the phone ringtone onto the headset when receiving calls.
Now on my new 11T pro it does not. When the phone rings I hear the notmal ringtone over speakers but only a device-internal bad single tone ringtone on my bluetooth headset (Conambo KC10)
Must be deactivated in the 11T somehow as I read elsewhere that Android in its later versions passed on ringtones to BT devices by default. Anybody can help with this? How can I enforce using the normal ringtone also on my headset?
Thanks....

Have you tried this:
Settings -> Sound & Vibration -> Sound assistant -> Toggle off Allow speaker sound.
Thanks. But it was set to ON and doesnt change anything, no matter if I turn it on or off.
Nobody any idea on this? Its a bit annoying to always have that midi sound experience when getting a call.
