When I'm taking sunset photo, there is a green dot on the light reflection. Anyone having this problem? And any ideas how to fix this?
I'm already on v168

There's no way to fix it other than in Photoshop for example. It's the glass in the optics that creates reflections from the light. No camera is free from this not even expensive DSLR's.

Are you sure that this is normal? Just wanted to be sure, it's not about the reflections, but there is a green dot in the light reflection
I used to own an DSLR but i never encounter green dot like this. The way I see it, I think the problem is the image processing. I should've have tried with RAW to see if there is this green dot.

It is fully normal. The green dot is a reflection caused by light in the optics from the sun. Certain situations will cause this such as strong lights. It will be there in RAW too its not software at all.

I see, thanks for your answer
That's just lens flare. It's more than common when direct strong light hits the lens.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_flare
It's not a reflection, it's a refraction which happens when light passes through the internal lens assembly and that's perfectly normal.
/ Magnus
As above, just to hammer the point home, it's lens flare. Perfectly normal for any camera and literally nothing to do with image post processing.
It's an effect that others bother to make add-ons for...
Add-ons for Photoshop, Gimp and so on.
The lens flare effect has many aspects and depends by the camera lens and the light source, in every aspects - power, angle, color...
It's a lens flare, avoid taking direct sunlight as it will damage the lens of the camera

There is a black dot showing up in my pictures and video.
I can see it on the LCD when making a video or taking a picture.. it is not to noticable when viewing pictures, but very noticable when on video as the dot doesn't move.
This is on a Note 4 with update and rooted using the default camera app.
I tried wiping the camera dry and wet with no difference showing. I also checked for a scratch but there is nothing in the glass.

I just called T-Mobile..
Told them about this black dot and the memory card issue I am having (http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/help/ext-sd-memory-card-disconnects-t2909502), so they are sending me a new phone.
Does Triangle away work on the Note 4?
Not to be smart ass but did you remove clear protective plastic from camera lens?

Wow.. Well.. I feel like an idiot.. No.. no i did not.. And totally surprised at how clear the pics I've been taking have been, even with the plastic on.
Unfortunately.. the black dot still persists.. It's almost like a dead pixel
The plastic has a circular hole in the middle where the actual sensor is, doubt the plastic has any effect on the quality of the screen.
dead sensor pixel
I have a black dot but it's on my screen, it's a dead pixel ?

I just got my gear live and I was wondering if anyone else has a noticeable gap on either side of their gear live? Also, it seems that the heart rate sensor on mine looks crooked. Is this how it is supposed to be? The heart rate monitor seems to work fine. Although, I have not really tested it for accuracy. Please let me know if these build issues are normal.

I have noticed a gap on the upper inside area where the plastic meets the bezel on the side opposite the charging port.
It does make me question it's IP 67 certification.

I have another question for anyone on here. Does your screen show a sort of pink line of pixels at the top when a white screen is shown? I think it may just be the way these displays are made but I wasn't sure.

I see that as well. It is hard to describe but I do see a pinkish hue that lines the upper edge of the display which is most noticeable on a white background.
I just tried the pixels and its true but unnoticeable in normal use. As for the gap that's quite big compared to mine which I've had for months.
Mine looks the same and I have seen the gap on other watches. It varies. I have gotten it a little wet on the sides from washing my hands and so far no issues here. It should not affect the IP 67 certification. I wonder if the pink hue on white screens could be fixed with a software update?
Other issues I have noticed are my watch band creaks a little if I move it around and also my heart rate sensor looks crooked as you can see in my pictures. Other than these things, it is a great watch!
My friend recently upgraded to the M9 and gave me his M7 for free.
I love every single thing about the M7 except 1 thing:
The rear and front facing camera.
From the guides on xda forums, i have read that if you double the copper tape and add a copper roll from the screen side, the pink tint will go away. But the problem didnt go away.
So I thought to myself that there is a gap between the camera chip and the copper tape. So I bought Arctic MX-2 and applied a small piece to the chip. It ALSO didn't change anything.
I was hoping that the pink tint will gradually appear as the camera heats up. But it appears immediately...
The front facing camera at daytime is beautiful. However once you go into a dark root, even with 1 lamp lit, the picture gets extremely grainy and the video gets very choppy (maybe 3fps) ? Is this normal?
My question:
1) Is there anything I can do besides, buying a new rear facing camera?
2) Is the front facing camera normal? If I buy a new front facing camera will the issue disappear?
1. No. It's been permanently damaged.
2. No. Grain and low fps are due to poor low light performance.

If I buy a replacement ultrapixel camera, will the camera be the same quality?

If you have a m7, can you please take a picture of your front camera in low light and upload it. Thanks!
Last question:
Where can I get a good quality camera ultrapixel camera in the UK for under 15 pounds?

Here you go. One picture taken in poor light and the other one taken with lights completely off.
No idea where you can get a new sensor but do search this thread - it was already posted.
I have 2 M7s. My "primary" I purchased launch day (2+ years of use), solid (awesome) battery life, great screen, and camera is flawless front and rear. My 2nd M7 is my ROM flashing machine, screen is claibrated differently (not worse, but whites are bluer etc, I prefer my primary), battery is worse even though it hasn been used as much, and while the front cam is fine the rear cam has the purple tint issue and is useless in my opinion. Even clear daylight shots it fails in comparison to my primary M7.
What do you think of this camera http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/131254350550?nav=SEARCH

Bump...
Well, it seems that not only the Pixel suffers from lens flare...
Today I tried my op3t camera for the first time in low light condition and... the flare is there.
I'm attaching a picture, you can clearly see the 5 spots on the left of the lamp.
Does it do the same to you? As far as I understand it's a common problem between cameras.
Any way to avoid, or at least reduce it?
Thanks

There are some camera apps (like DSLR) where you can change the ISO, most of the time when you change to a high ISO value the flare would be less seen

Just tried it and it works. The thing that bothers me is that everytime there is an artificial light there is a flare...
I'm not an expert here but I think a lot of phones exhibit this. My wife's s6 edge plus has weird light retractions in low light.

Yes. Most phones have it. It largely has to do with the lens attached to the phone. I've had more success on phones such as the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. Use such phones and go into manual mode. In all cases I was able to eliminate the lens flare. Too bad I had to switch to the 3T which is a better phone but poor shooter. Can't find a way to eliminate it there yet.
You captured a UFO! No way! Lol. Anyways my experience with low light conditions has been great. This is at a party. So clear I can zoom in to the musicians faces clearly absolutely 0 editing. With Snapseed I can lower the brightness of the lights overhead

Actually as i was browsing on my galaxy s10 i saw a dark outline of under display fingerprint scanner on the dynamic amoled, this issue is only visible on white background, this is of deep concern, did anyone notice this issue?
Hi. I cannot see anything there on the screen - not one bit, regardless which background it is.

I can see it too but only in bright sunlight shining strait at the screen with a white background. Even then it's hard to see. I tried it under a bright UV light and other very bright lights and do not see it otherwise. If you check this video out at 8:50 it should explain why. It's the reflection from the bright sunlight reflecting through and then back from the screen. I don't see it as a defect, it's just the design of the fingerprint reader. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes visible all the time.
But while i was using Chrome in direct sunlight the shadow stayed throughout and it was very irritating.
Do check in direct sunlight
