[Q] SIM Lock - NEW Moto X 2014 ( AT&T)

Hi,
I am in Canada and since Moto Maker won't ship here, I went to the states and bought a Moto X from an AT&T store. Unfortunately it's locked. Is there anyway I can get an unlock code before the 60 days of AT&T service that seems to be policy?
I really don't want to drive 4 hours to return the phone, and want to get it working on Rogers in Canada.
This news may interest you, Motorola is likely to enable all LTE bands for the Pure edition, so it will have all the LTE bands like on the AT&T version: http://www.androidcentral.com/moto-x-pure-edition-xt1095-may-soon-get-more-lte-bands
As for unlocking the AT&T sim, I used the website fastgsm.com to unlock my AT&T Moto X 2013, it took them a week to send me the code, but it worked. There are other services like cellunlocker.net.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem the 2014 version of the G and X are available yet, you'll just have to wait a while.
Did you manage to get the code before the 60 days of service from AT&T?

Sim-unlock moto x 2014 Verizon

Hello
I want to buy verizon moto x 2014 in usa and use it in europe. Does it sim locked? Is there needed any manipulation to switch career from Verizon to another?
Thanks
I'm pretty sure the Verizon one is SIM locked. They might sell you an unlocked one, or let you unlock early. You are better off getting a European model motomaker phone.

Actually the Verizon Moto X is unlocked out of the box, as are all Verizon 4G LTE phones. I have bought at least 4 or 5 and used them on T-Mobile just to test. Even the iPhones are. One slight perk in the tyranny of Verizon

ATT unlock bootloader and SIM

Hello,
Thinking of buying a 2014 moto X from AT&T. I have been reading and searching for an hour, but cannot find the definitive and latest answer to these questions. So I thought I'd just ask.
My apologies if this is well known information.
1) Has anybody managed to unlock the ATT XT1097 bootloader? (There is a thread about bootloader unlocking but I don't think it mentions AT&T)
2) Is there a known method for SIM unlock?
Thank you very much
Gonzalo
You can unlock the bootloader or the XT1095 and XT1097 trough the same method.

.
I have the ATT version, and no you cannot unlock bootloader, and they are sim free, at least mine is sim unlocked.
Don't purchase the "branded" device, purchase the "Pure Edition" then go to AT&T..or any provider you wish, (except) for "Big Red"..
If the offer of a cheap priced device is what's appealing, Wait and save up, don't allow the carriers to get the strangle hold on you.!!

I fully agree. I never buy anything branded, all my phones are Nexus.
The reason I ask is because my company has a corporate agreement with ATT, (they pay for my cell phone line). I use the ATT SIM with my Nexus 5, but because of that corporate agreement I am entitled to buy a Moto X for $ 99 or a Nexus 6 for $ 249. I was thinking of taking advantage of that possibility, but the Nexus 6 is too big for me, and the Moto X I would buy it for $99 only if I could convert it to a SIM unlocked Pure version.

I''m planning on trading my PS3 with my friend for his Moto X 2014 AT&T version. My question is would it work on the T-mobile network and which website should I use to get the unlock code.

hey there is this cool new website to help you check if your phone will work with a different carrier http://www.willmyphonework.net/ and from what I know no you cant unlock that phone or root it but it still might work with T-Mobile I have no idea.
Yes, you can unlock your phone to use it on t-mobile network. I use it with tmobile.
You should pay for this, for me was $13, you just need to install an app. Moto x Unlock.
