N950U bottom speaker Bug (Need help) - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hello everyone
So I recently bought a used note 8 N950U Running unbranded universal stock firmware N950U1 XAA CSC.
When I first bought it was running android 7 nougat and it was completely fine then I updated to Latest android pie via software OTA update security patch June 1 2019. Now I encountered a weird bug in pie update while watching video or listening music the bottom main speaker volume goes automatically low after 2 or 3 seconds even if the volume is on maximum..
When I start any video or music I can hear very loud volume and the instantly after 1 or 2 second the volume and bass decreases about 20 to 30%
Please anyone help me understand and fix this issue?
Is this some kind of DAC OR AMPLIFIER BUG ?
But when I connected to bluetooth or earphones this doesn't happen.
I know I can't downgrade back to nougat because locked bootloader.
AM I THE ONLY 1 HAVING THIS ISSUE ?

Anyone?

Do a factory reset after backing up first!
After reset and it is still there then I would expect a faulty speaker.
I would also try using odin with the csc file (not the home-CSC file) which will erase phone and bring it back to stock.
Locked bootloader nothing can be done on the system side of things.
Do a *#0*# in dailer and test speaker.
Edit try a different music player (poweramp?)
Does it happen with the ringtones or just music?

Thanks for replying
Speaker issue was happening everywhere not just music also ringtone and notification tone.
I did everything including flashing different firmware but no luck.
Even i tried N950U1 firmware but same.
Then I went today to local repair shop and it turns out faulty speaker.
I paid around 25$ and replaced speaker now it's perfectly fine.
BTW I saw many posts on reddit same issue that i had with speaker it happened to many people in snapdragon model including a bug that brick the phone if battery goes to 0% and it will never charge again.
Not just note 8 also happened in note 9 after pie update both of this bugs.
Maybe something is wrong in pie update that messed up speaker and battery in snapdragon models.

No-Incall Audio on my new SGN

Just had my SGN for 2 days now
problem is that i dont have any audio when calling
dont hear a thing and the other party says they dont hear anything from me as well
even if i hit speaker mode
recording sound has no problem though
playing music through the speaker has no problem as well
is there a fix for this or am i doomed to have it returned?
ive already upgraded it to the latest firmware OTA
and already did a factory reset.
hit the in-call volume to the max levels
still nothing...
if i use a rom like ICS
will the problem be fixed?
If you are on the stock firmware then something with the phone. If you bought it used, I would use Odin and flash an official OEM rom. If the problem still exists, look for a methods to get your money back.
would that be the only solution?
what if i flashed to ICS?

[Q] i9000M Handset audio issue after upgrade

Long time reader, first time poster....
Phone: i9000M from Bell in Canada
Original Firmware: UGJH2
Updated to: XXJW4
After upgrading (flash via ODIN), the handset speaker is VERY quiet (almost silent). Unless the person on the other end screams, it is not audible. I tried flashing several modems, with no change. I have done a hard reset, wiped the device and reflashed with no luck.
I physically opened up the phone to check the connection which was fine. I checked the actual pin holes in the speaker and they were clear. I have tried several apps (Voodoo, Volume+, etc.) and they had zero effect. I tried the service menu as well, no luck.
I am stumped on how audio works fine via all other outputs (rear speaker, headphones, bluetooth) but not via the handset.
Has anyone else encountered this? The only thing I have not tried is flashing the original ROM back. I am searching for it now and hope to test this soon.
Thanks in advance,
Zimzum
*UPDATE 1* I did some further testing with two different headsets: the Samsung headset w/mic that came with the phone as well as a pair of standard earphones. When the standard headphones are plugged in, the in-call volume is normal (similar to any other phone). When the Samsung headset w/mic is plugged in, the call volume is VERY quite (almost impossible to hear the other party), even with volume set to max (100).
*UPDATE 2* When I upgraded the phone XXJW4, it went into a boot loop, so I checked the thread where I grabbed the ROM from and there were several others who had the same issue. The fix was posted by a user that said to flash his attached dbdata file, which was missing and causing the boot loop. I flashes this and it booted fine. Not sure if this could have any impact on in-call audio quality but it the only exception that I could think of from a usual ROM update.

[Q] [Q&A] Xperia Z - no sound

Hello .
I have a big problem with the phone Xperia Z C6603. I bought it as defective with probability defective software. The problem is the lack of voice ( ringtones and multimedia ) . Seller said it happened after removing simlock, and reflash software should help . Unfortunately, upload older software 4.3 and 4.4.4 of the latest changes nothing. In service mode too quiet. Replaced with a new speaker because I thought that might be damaged and still nothing. The phone is not rooted , working on the original Software . Locked bootloader . Is there any chance to save my phone?
I forgot to add - the phone was probably a little wet. The indicator at the connection jack is approximately 1/3 red . Is there a chance that something get wet in the connector jack and replace it make a difference? Speaker phone works properly , the same with the headphones . Redirecting sound from the external speaker using SoundAbout working properly on the internal speaker.

I've got a sony Xperia Z in an almost identical state.
Ringtones and alarms work from phone's speakers. Music works through a headset but not the phone speakers. The same is true for in-call sound, though speaker-phone seems to work too.
The little water indicator by the headphone jack is a pale red colour.
If I open FM Radio it behaves as if the headphones are plugged in, even when they aren't. There's an option in the drop down menu to play the radio out of the speakers and, once activated, the speaker do produce sound.
Hi to all,
after years of membership - here comes my first post :silly:
I worked over this weekend on the same issue - it turns out that I was able to use "older" Stock-ROMs with 4.2 or 4.3.
Once the "Over the Air" Update comes to 4.4.x the sound is gone. There is a bug (software) in KitKat for a specific line of xperia Z.
I had success with using this ROM: C6603_10.3.1.A.2.67_Generic UK.ftf
Use the FlashTool ( found here on XDA ) to flash this image and then make the OTA Updates - BUT not update to 4.4.x !!!
If you wish a rooted device use Flashtool ( Run Root Shell worked for me ) - best to do this right after flashing the device.
Note that you may need to remove the AntiVirusSoftware! No worries, after a Factory-Reset the AntiVirus app reapers.
I also installed a Recovery ( CM or TWRP ) so I can make a full backup before each OTA Update, enabling me to rollback.
I hope this helps, if any one need the FTF-File let me know.
Cheers Screw It Fix

Sound working for Alarm,Ringtone but not for music, youtube calls + Build Prop problem

I am on stock 5.0 ROM of ZR, Rooted n dual-recovery installed,
I am facing weird issue, whenever i gets call then i can hear ringtone, even alarm, also WhatsApp notifications but music or YouTube or any video does not give me sound, it only works on earphones,
even whenever i gets calls i can either speak on loudspeaker or with earphones connected, direct call is impossible for me
To figure this out i also tried factory reset but it didn't helped me, i also thought its hardware problem but sometimes EG. 1 out of 7 days music, calls, videos sound works WITHOUT earphones, so i am unable to figure out where is the problem ?
I strongly feels its earphones 3.5mm jack which is detecting it as i am already connected to earphones though i didn't..
So any way to solve it ? i tried playing with that jack also but no success,
Another problem is before flashing i changed my build prop to one samsung s6 device for some work purpose with buildprop editor, but even after factory reset i can see it didn't changed to stock build prop of sony zr device, why it happened & how to solve it also,
Please Help,
Thanks in Advance .
reboot phone, plzz
You must find a stock build prop and insert in to your system using root explorer or similar.. I know the S6 build-prop you are talking about and its meant for S6, which have other bits than ZR.. Don't mess with the build prop unless there are bits specific to ZR bro.. You should be ok once the build prop has been changed
i also have this problem, it looks like headphone jack problem, i also tried disassembling and removing headphone jack assembly but problem still exists in any roms above android 4.3 ( 4.1 and 4.3 and cm varient of same works perfectly. ( btw disassembling resulted in 2 times broken screen and useless headphone jack :crying: )
problem is phone thinks something is still in that whole :silly: in os above 4.3 , sony messed with software ( because if jack is faulty then it shouldn't work in older os too, and it should have worked when i ran phone without jack assembly )
your best bet is either use 4.3 or lower version or use "hf button widget" ( 70KB app ) to force audio through speaker. :highfive:
though proximity may not work.
I am seeing lots of of ZR user raising this this issue and unfortunately I have it too.
Your workaround is that install SoundAbout app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix&hl=en for you to enable the sound through speaker.
I have also Xperia ZR C5502 and facing this type of problem I noticed phone notification show sometimes headset connected but in really it isn't connected so incoming calls sound doesn't hearing from phones speaker.I must turn on loud speaker to hear phone's sound.Sorry for bad English.

Greetings
I have got Xiaomi Mi Mix 256GB
I was on ViperOS ROM was listen to music via Google Play Music player (Vol was Max maybe lil low) well after a while I noticed
*in some songs, ringtones or sounds at full vol the speakers sounds like a blown speaker would
*but in some it doesn't at all if I decrease volume 3 steps down then sound is fine
*Can some one help me figure it out if its blown speaker or driver related SW issue?
1)well I reverted back from Viper to MIUI flashed it via TWRP (Chinese Variant) isssue persists
2) Did flash global rom same twrp method still the same
(Both times I wiped all partitions in twrp prior to flash)
Since beginning I haven't had no luck with Mi flasher is there any other way to do a complete wipe to factory state?
Or could it be blown speaker? [emoji24][emoji24] ,If so I can replace it but we dont have Xiaomi Parts here importing will cost me days
Help appreciated thanks in advance

Does this affect the two speakers? I am asking because I noticed i have only one speaker working on my device and I noticed you say speakers. On my device I have noticed that only the right side speaker is working and I wonder if the left side speaker is faulty.

I didn't write speakers (coz there's only one) the other one is microphone and more of a touch to design and aesthetics of device

well yes and no, the problem I believe wasn't with the speaker but it's housing or the phone shell, it was very disappointing and annoying for me so I sold the phone, use that phone in a proper shell even though it's a premium device but Xiaomi's choice in certain bad materials is still there even this phone
