I am on stock Oreo Rom and my screen stays black when I move it away from my face to end a call. The screen only comes back on when the other person hangs up. I don't have a case on and I've cleaned the sensor. Anyone have a fix for this please?

When I phone then screen blanks when lifted to ear - that's good
However when I take from ear (say to enter number from keypad or to hangup call) the screen stays blank. Sometimes comes back at random time.
If I can't connect to something then simply don't get screen back - have to remove battery to reset
any ideas?

Found the problem !!!!!
I have a ZAGG screen protector. That one must be not invisible enough as it appears to keep the proximity sensor active when triggered (must be very marginal as it sometimes come back)
when I removed the skin it all worked ok - I will let ZAGG know (and wil cutr a strip off the skin in the meantime

I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. Out of the blue my phone has started going black when making a call rather than waiting for me to put it next to my ear. If I turn it on the proximity sensor still doesn't work, and my face will just start pressing buttons is I don't manager turn the screen off. Any ideas on how to fix this? The phone is stock.

Are you using some kind of bulky case, or a screen protector that covers the light and proximity sensors (to the right of the earpiece)? If so, that's usually the cause.
If not, you probably have a faulty sensor cluster.
When I'm in a call and move the phone away from my ear, the screen will not come back on. Pressing the power button does not turn it on. The only way I found to get my screen back is to shake the device to trigger the camera, then go back to the phone. This makes it difficult to access the keyboard necessary during some calls. Today, I tried to turn on the speakerphone during a call but was unable to see the screen.
Is there something I'm missing about this? I don't know where to look. Anybody else seeing this? I do have a MIME glass screen protector installed but I don't think that should affect the proximity sensor.
I think I found the problem. I believe my case sometimes causes this.
I just dropped my new Galaxy Note 5 and screen went blacked out and blue LED is always on!!! I can't do anything soft boot.. Hard boot.. Recovery.. Nothing. Even not vibrating or making sounds!! Just there is a black screen with blue LED on... Even no calls can receive..
Is this problem with the LCD?? I'd LCD is damaged it can still boot up and receive calls nah?? Please anyone help me soon. What's this issue
I bought a screen of eBay which said it was OEM but who knows? Anyway I had the screen installed at a phone repair shop and it seemed to work fine until I walked out of the store and turned it on to notice that the screen was black and white. I turned it on and off again and it went back to normal but i went in to tell them anyway when i was walking in I turned the screen in and off a couple times to see if I could get it to go black and white again and sure enough if did. It seems to turn black and white every couple times I turn it on and off. It doesn't flicker back and forth and it doesn't charge when I'm using the phone also i had a custom ROM installed so I got rid of that to see if it would fix it it didn't and I reset the entire device to no avail but I did notice that to this point I haven't had it go black and white while in the boot-loader and i have tried a lot turning it on and off again and again. I also noticed that there are lines bouncing in the background when the screen is black and white which are also visible when the screen is normal but only barely. Apart from that the screen seems to shake when its in black and white and sometimes the touch wont work for a couple seconds its not a big deal because you can just turn the screen on and off to fix it but its a very strange problem i have contacted the seller and I talked to the man who installed it but I was wondering if it was possible that it was some kind of software issue it seems unlikely but the fact that it doesn't flicker on and off its just either on or off and the fact that i cant seem to get it to happen in the boot-loader is making me wonder I also tried recording my screen and the screen was recorded normally when it was black and white to me.
