Accessing Internal storage in recovery mode to transfer files - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

My phone keeps restarting over and over again unless I shut it off from recovery mode. If it does start sometimes, it opens to the lock screen and then shows something like "Process system is not responding - Close App / Wait", and then restarts again.
Is it possible to transfer data from my internal storage to my pc? If yes, how do I do it?
My device is not rooted and I'm a noob. Please help :crying:

Try booting into safe mode and see if it boots up. If it does you should be good to go re: getting your data.
"Test your phone in safe mode by pressing the power button, then touching and holding on Power off on the screen, and then tap OK when Reboot to safe mode appears. You should see safe mode in the bottom left corner when it restarts, and you can test without any third-party apps running. Simply restart the Moto G5S Plus to get out of safe mode. If the restarts are gone in safe mode, then you know a third-party app is the cause and you can either uninstall and test one by one or do a factory reset." Were you running stock when you did the update?
something must of got courpted you can use a one click stock rom flash with odin, you can download it here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
its pretty simple, start the program, than just put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, than hold vol + and - at the same time, with NOTHING ELSE PRESSED (DO NOT PRESS PWR) than while still holding the vol buttons down, plug it into your computer, it should go into download mode) this is a bit on the extream side, you will loose any internal data, (not the internal sd, only internal data) but if your locked out of your phone and your not rooted or able to get into clockworks, than this is the easiest way i could think of.

Error message when starting

was with the original rom lg. and then went instalr the recovery of the cyanogen rom manager app, and then hung up the phone and now the message appears in red at the top of the screen
"Critical Failure: Unable to start Kernel.
Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)"
and I can not get into download mode to install the original rom again.
and now what do I do? I lost my phone?
you flashed cwm without unlocking your bootloader. re-flash latest jellybean kdz file for your phone using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723, then read some more about unlocking bootloader, and then start again.

but now I am unable to get into download mode on the phone. is
" Now just hold down vol - key ( hold hold hold dont release !!!! ) and plug the USB cable until you get screen like this :-"
he does not. whenever I do this it only vibrates strong and goes to the screen with the error message. I do not know why that. remember one time it happened to me already but can not remember how I resolved it is possible to even lose the download mode?
Its not possible afaik. Are you sure you are holding only vol - key and plugging in? Dont hold power key!
yes, I'm almost the whole day trying to get into download mode by pressing volume down + connecting the usb. and whenever it vibrates strong and hangs on lg logo. tried to volume up + usb connect. and no download mode. I'm going crazy with this phone. otherwise hesitate to hard reset? or other shortcut to download mode?

hard reset wont help you, as far as i know, you somehow need to enter s/w upgrade screen. did you try it with battery out?
he battery of the same error, and no battery it does nothing, or vibrate, or flash screen, nothing happens
Will I not be able to see my optimus running again? :crying:
it is not possible to load the kernel, what could I do?

Hi Raphael20 and everyone else,
Did you manage to figure out a solution to this? I have the same issue, i.e. cannot start my phone by holding the power button. Not even when people suggest to get to the S/W Update screen by holding the Volume down + plug into the computer.
I got to this error when I tried to do a factory reset. I installed the ClockworkMod Recovery. Then the factory reset via Volume up + Power button gave me the "Critical Failure: Unable to start Kernel" error. I somehow managed to get access to my phone by holding the Volume down + plug into the computer. Then tried to do a factory reset via the system settings of my phone. My phone restarted and then gave me the "Critical Failure: Unable to start Kernel" screen of death! Now Volume down + plug into the computer gives me the "Critical Failure: Unable to start Kernel", no matter whether I have restarted my computer and I have tried another computer. It seems that the bootloader is wrecked.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

[Q] Soft brick, I think? I don't know, but I messed up.

Here's what I did.
1) performed factory data wipe in TWRP
2) Installed all three .zip files, ROM, gapps, and lgapps, all said successful
3) dalvik/cache wipe
4) tried to boot.
When I try to boot my phone, I get the LG splash screen for a split second, then just a black screen. I cannot boot into recovery. I can get it into download mode by holding the power button, then waiting for the screen to go off, and holding volume up and plugging in the usb cable quickly before it goes to the lg splash screen. The problem is once I'm there, it goes to a "firmware update" screen which won't progress no matter how long I wait. My computer also won't correctly detect my phone. If in download mode, it won't detect it at all. If I just boot, it pulls up "local drive" E all the way to R and asks me to format each one. When I try to access E:, it tells me that the parameter is wrong. All the others simply ask to be formatted.
Please help. I probably shouldn't have messed with my phone in the first place. I thought I'd done it right, but I guess not

I might have the solution. You will need Ubuntu/ any other distribution that you want.
Try this, with these files.
Best of luck, hope you can fix this issue!

When you're in download mode, of course it won't progress because it's waiting for you to push an update.
You can use the lg flash tool to. Tot back to 11a from download mode.
However, I had a similar issue as yours and after asking more questions I was able to get back to recovery. The button sequence is tricky when you can't power your phone all the way off, but it can be done. Keep trying or just tot back from download mode.

Pin problem, no acces to recovery

Hi guys, i got this problem, any help would ne appreciated : my leeco2 on stock rom. I set up fingerprint to unlock screen and a pin. Pin never changed. Suddenly it askes for pin before using my fingerprint, but it doesnt recognise the pin! Maybe my kids changed the pin, i was thinking (since i dont know how they could). So lets try hard reset, though im gonna lose all data (many photos done here in holliday). But when i push vol up and power button, it doesnt enter recovery. The logo Le ECO and the word "recovery" apears on the screen, BuČ› then disapear and goes normally. Got no computer, stil in holliday, stuck on this. Thanks
Get into RECOVERY Mode >> Data >> System and Delete 2 files starting with "gatekeeper" and (3) files starting with "lock".
Then deleted then reboot your phone normally.
