It is an android 9 with locked bootloader. On lock screen I can't see any way to recover it via email or anything. Can it be rescued without hard reset?
The phone owner finally remembered the pattern by practising it on paper with pencil We are all right now. But beware people, for a locked device, I think there is no way to recover it without hard resetting.

I have an SM-G925A.
Purchased second hand from a seller I know.
Had his Samsung account on it and Reactivation Lock was turned on. We put phone on Wifi and tried to turn off Reactivation Lock. Just loops back to same screen and remains turned on.
Correct Password and Email as we were able to hard reset phone and at the Reactivation Lock screen during setup, it was accepted and we continued through to set up phone.
Still Reactivation Lock won't turn off, just loops back to same screen.
So we decided to delete Samsung account from phone.. Email and Password accepted, Samsung account deleted.
Thought we were good. Nope.
Now Reactivation Lock is on, grayed out and we cannot add back the Samsung account. Press on Add Samsung account and nothing happens.
Also cannot do Factory Reset from within Setting. Just press Reset Device and nothing happens.
Can't try flashing stock Rom as it's on AOF4 and no Rom to be found online.
There is no OEM Unlocking option in Delevoper Options either so can't try that.
I know I have seen other users with different S6 devices with similar problems after spending time searching on here.
Has anyone found a solution?
You wont be able to remove it unless you have the original info and I mean the one before the person that sold it to you. He just gave you the info to bypass it but not to remove it completely as the legit information it is encrypted within the bootloader and it must match with the info that you input to remove it 100%.
If you have the account info try this

Let me know if it workd
can somebody please help me. i can't turn off the reactivation lock of my samsung galaxy a5. i tried already the method that will delete the prevoius account and then will make a new one. but it didn't work. can anyone help me?. thanks in advance.
Resurecting an old thread and XDA doesnt seem very active these days but
I would love to know how to get around this. I have the wifes old phone and I decided to factory reset it.
The device was listed under FindmyMobile and had my samsung account listed during the factory reset it just refused my password to the point where I reset my password but it still gave a "processing error" every time I put it in so I did the hard reset completely ignorant of the RAL.
Now I have a device that still wont let me pass the samsung username and password part of setup.
Spent days reading useless posts and watching the same regurgitated youtube videos all with titles that inspire confidence only to find idiots that have no idea how to get around it I mean one said its a faulty power button!!!
I did find a post on here but I need to be on android 5.11, ive got down to 6 but 5.1 wont go on!
Samsung were unhelpful they told me what I had done and how to get around it, enter the username and password, they said if I can remember these details I will have to take the device to a repair shop and they can sort it, so there is a way, but during this lock down im not going anywhere!
Like I said the samsung account on the phone was mine and the device was visible in findmymobile is it possible this is a samsung issue and not a me issue?
The phones an old S6 SM-G920F and I wouldn't bother but its had a new batter and a new screen so ive invested some time and money into it, I dont want to just junk it now!
Anyway, if there is anyone on XDA anymore and you are reading this and you do have a method to solve this please reply.
If you know how I can get 5.1 on the device that might be useful too as there are methods listed in here for 5.1 but I cant apply.
Oh I found a method on applying 5.1 but im guessing its for a computer science grad as it was full of unexplained acronyms, that to a general MS Server engineer like myself, meant absolutely nothing!

So i lost my Nokia 8 a few days back. Sad about it since barring the camera the phone was awesome
My question is, I had the fingerprint lock on the device activated can the person who tries to use my device access the data on it. I was on Android 8.1
I already tried to erase it from android settings but dont know how much that will work since the guy turned off the phone
The only way to access the phone is with your pin /pattern code
The guy can also access the phone by doing a hard reset (wipe cache and dalvik) so the info you had on the phone desapears

I know the phone is good as gone. Have resigned to the fact that the phone is lost.
I am more worried about the data on the phone. If he has to do a hard reset to use and and all the data gets wiped then i can live with it.
He can't really do anything unless you've had the bootloader unlocked. If it's still locked and you've got a fingerprint with pattern on it, the chances he will find the pattern is very low (Unless you've had some very common and obvious one set).
Your data is probably safe and all he can do is perform a hard reset. You might wanna also report IMEI to the police and online authorities so the phone will be worthless and flagged as stolen in known establishments.

Yup bootloader still locked and no pattern it was a pin number.
Sadly the police were least bothered with a lost phone in India (near my place anyway). Gave a complaint so that incase the guy misuses the phone it wont come back on me.

I think you're screwed then. You could try using eRecovery, I've heard of people restoring this way and all their data on the phone wasn't wiped (as long as you don't choose the factory reset option) but I don't know if this will clear the password settings or it would remain after eRecovery.
Are your photos not backed up with Google photos/Huawei gallery backup?
Hi,
it's possible with secret codes access to phone and save data?
With this code *#*#2846579#*#* Project menĂ¹ it's possible to use HiSuite to backup data?
And wipe all data and all the photos he/she wants to get hold on. That's NOT what he/she want to do.
What usb mode is it in, can you connect to PC to copy the photos off, then factory reset?

Ha, dont think you can get around this otherwise the whole point of a lock screen is useless so i think you need to do a full wipe
Like others said, you gota do factory reset to be able to remove lock screen. There is no bypass since of security safety to prevent hackers and anyone who steals the phone from accessing the content. If you made a Huawei account, then check https://cloud.huawei.com and login with the same email. Hopefully the images and videos are synced there so you can restore it after factory reset.
tried asking your daughter for the lock pattern?
I bought a new G6 (unlocked) for my sister, who lives in another state. She activated the new phone last night (Mint Mobile). When she got to the screen asking for entry of a password to protect against unauthorized use she entered a complex password (she didn't know she could just skip that screen). She wrote the password down, but now she can't find it. I called her this morning and she was able to use the fingerprint scanner to open the phone enough to answer my call, but she can't get to her apps.
I am aware that this sounds a little "fishy", but I didn't know where else to turn. Is there any way to reset or remove that password? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Jerry

She can boot to recovery and reset the whole phone, the only option if bootloader is locked.
Got to wipe the phone and start over. tell her to make sure next time it's a simple password because she's going to have to use it every time to unlock the device if she has a screen lock set to password. even if it's set to fingerprint you have to enter the password anytime you reboot the device to unlock it the first time.
It's there to prevent unauthorized use so no there's no way around it. Except for factory resetting. even then make sure she logs in with the same Google account because she probably enabled factory reset protection as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I walked her through the factory reset procedure, but when she tried to set up the phone and entered her Google credentials the phone said "searching" and wouldn't go past that screen. She finally called Motorola and they said if I could send proof of purchase she could forward it to them and, if approved, they will ask her to send them the phone and they will send her another new phone. She is still waiting,

That's a bummer. They should send another one though. It's covered since you didn't unlock the bootloader.
Hi All,
This is probably the most stupid thing that i have done yet. I demonstarted to my son how to change the unlock-pattern on my phone, and forgot to put back my old pattern. Now the phone asks to verify my pattern even if i am normally using my fingerprints.
Now i wonder what i could do to unlock my phone. Can't use ADB, because i need to authenticate it forst from the phone.
What would happen if i re-installed the stock firmware again? Would that reset my pattern? Any ideas are welcome
Wow.. I figured out my pattern, so no need to reset my phone Next time i will write down my new pattern and save it in my keepass-passwordmanager (that again syncs the db-file to dropbox
