Hi, I was trying to make the backup of my DS 7 wifi stock using ClockworkMod Recovery. After that I try to restore it, but after restore it stucks(Loop) at ClockworkMod Recovery. It's not working! Moreover, I can't change it to fastboot, can you please help me resolve it! Is there any way I can change it to fastboot.
I highly appreciate your help!

Got answere!
mount all the things you can in the ClockworkMod Recovery,
Go to cmd in windows,
c:\ cd android-sdk/platform-tools/
type these in adb shell
flash_image /dev/block/mmcblk3p2 /sdcard/boot_orig.img
flash_image /dev/block/mmcblk3p1 /sdcard/recovery_orig.img
select reboot from the recovery. now it will reboot and it will format misc and it will reboot again. NOW the device will load the os!!!
now that you are here, i also suggest to go to fastboot again and to flash all over again in this order:
flash system
flash recovery
flash boot

If you are getting failed with error:-1:Make sure: you mount internal sdcard from ClockworkMod Recovery> to copy files downloaded from here!

Hi,
I'm having a problem trying to flash roms. I have both ViperOne and Android Revolution pushed onto /sdcard.
They show up when I press install on TWRP but after I slide to install, it fails. It shows the following:
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to open zip file.
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/viperone.zip'
Updating partition details...
This is on TWRP v2.7.1.1
Any ideas on what do would be appreciated.
Please note I can't get into normal android system and its currently stuck on a cyanogenmod bootloop.

use twrp 2.6.3.3 to flash arhd.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-botloader
then try to flash arhd or viper again
also check your roms MD5 before flashing them

Flash TWRP img from Fastboot like the first time
Or copy your TWRP img file to the phone, its Internal memory, navigate to that img file from OrangeFox, select the file and take install to Recovery partition
H there,
TWRP and Magisk are not wot working as aspected.
First I tried to flash TWRP by
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
but received
Code:
(bootloader) Invalid partition name recovery
So I had to just boot it
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
After that I "installed recory image" in TWRP itself. But when I try to boot into recovery it get stuck. So i had to do
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
again.
Any ideas what i did wrong or how to solve this?
Then I installed Magisk. To do that I had to drop an boot.img file, let the Magisk-App creates an pahteched version of it and than, back in bootloader
Code:
fastboot boot magisk_patched...img
Now i have root access. But when rebooting regularly the Magisk-App has no root and so all the other apps also not. So i had to boot that img again.
That CAN'T be the right way.
Thx in advance!
It's probably because you have A/B partitions on your device. To flash it successfully you'll need TWRP 3.5.0+. You can learn more about why is it so different from this XDA article.
You can check if your device supports A/B partitions through this app.
Follow this guide on how to flash it on A/B partitions, you can get TWRP from here (Beckham) or here (Addison).
Goodluck.

Same.
Hi, I have tried installing this recovery. I have however encountered multiple problems.
As background, the bootloader was just unlocked. No other modification was made to this device.
I have unzipped the official file.
For starters, after escaping the fastbootd mode, I have tried
Code:
fastboot flash "Path/to/unzipped/TWRP/recovery.img"
(as stated in the official guide) and encountered
Code:
fastboot: error: cannot determine image filename for "Path/to/unzipped/TWRP/recovery.img"
.
I figured the name of the target partition should be precised in the command, so I re-ran the command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "Path/to/unzipped/TWRP/recovery.img"
Then it failed with
Code:
Warning: skip copying recovery image avb footer (recovery partition size: 0, recovery image size: 100663296).
Sending 'recovery' (98304 KB) OKAY [ 2.723s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: '(recovery_b) No such partition')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Interesting, huh ?
Then I installed the unofficial TWRP by following the temporary guide. It worked and I entered TWRP. Flashed pitchblack's recovery.img to recovery ramdisk (am I supposed to flash it there?). It failed with a similar error as with fastboot (but it was (recovery_a) that had no such partition). Chose to make a backup of every partition. (Flashed TWRP again hoping TWRP would be available as recovery)
Rebooted to system with success (yay). Rebooted while pressing volume up. Got stuck on first mi logo. Rebooted to fastboot. Sucessfully rebooted to system.
Got bask to fastboot to go to TWRP. Booted on it again, restored everything except data and system (hoping that the restored data would boot with volume up). Rebooted twice to system because it was advised by TWRP. Rebooted with volume up. Entered TWRP (yay, it stayed).
Tried installing pitchblack's zip in TWRP. The following was logged:
Code:
Doing Work on slot boot_a
Failed to flash boot_a Image, please restore the Boot.img
(in red) Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/path/PBRP-spes-4.0-20230405.....zip'
So yeah, restored boot img once again.
Besides trying a few things, couldn't install PBRP. What is going on ? Clues, ideas ?
