If you want to root your phone for the sake of just having root, I won't advice you to root your phone.

Help a brother out
When the Z1 first launched, I was able to root the device.
I'm ignorant enough to not know if I had unlocked the bootloader.
General forum research tells me that if I'm not sure if I unlocked the bootloader, it means I didn't unlock the bootloader.
I updated my Z1 (C9606) to 14.1.G.2.257 Build.
I'm still running Android 4.2.2
Is there a way to root device without unlocking?
If so, could someone point towards the thread I need to follow?
thanks!

Hello,
flash back to .534 with flashtool then root and custom recovery your device and put a custom pre rootet rom on.I think that is the only solution also the same point as the threat starter asks for you only can use pre rootet roms for now.
best regards and wishes,
Nico

What if rolled back to .534, custom recovered, rooted and then tried to flash .290 (JB 4.3)?
Has anyone tried this?
Is there any way of getting stock 4.3 rooted?

But I'm using 900f which already has unlocked bootloader. I didn't want to root previously as I thought any flashing using Odin will trip knox

Not that it is a real issue for me, but I echo your sentiment
Does anyone know if using a CSC changing app (which requires root) will trigger Knox after getting root via this method?
Why we need to make knox 0..? Is there any advantage?

You might want to tell everybody in the op that as of right now flashing a custom recovery will trip knox.
So quick question guys:
If I root the S6 with the new tool, it won't trip Knox?
Once its rooted, would I be able to replace the lock screen with the one from stock android and replace the dialer with the google dialer? I love stock experience but I wanted a premium device so I went with the S6.
Thanks.

No.. Your warranty is gone forever.
Why do people keep asking this silly question, you root your phone you kiss your warranty goodbye.

You shouldn't answer unless you're sure. This root method can be reversed by used ODIN to completely go back to stock.
