Samsung A6 screen flashing. - Samsung Galaxy A6 Questions & Answers

Hello guys. My samsung galaxy A6+ is acting very funny. The screen flickers badly. I have done quite a lot of search on flickering screens but what I have seen online is nothing like what I am experiencing. Right from when I turn on the phone, after the "Samsung Galaxy A6+" screen passes, every display from thence flashes.
I really need help. This is what I have tried:
1. Restart
2. Clear cache
3. Wipe Data/ Factory Reset
4. Flash firmware (downgrade to android 8.0)
5. Flash firmware (taking it back to android 9)
Will be very happy to receive assistance and advice.

Is the screen flashing purple and then back again to normal? I had this to and for me it helped to disable developer options.

[Q] Soft Brick - Broken Home Key

So this is the deal:
I have an S Advance GT-I9070, with a non-functional Home Key. I have recently installed Lollipop onto it and found it too resource extensive and rolled back to kitkat, which was also draining the battery. So I decided to try
Light Jelly Bean v1.2. I followed the instructions accordingly:
3. wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik-cache, wipe system
4. install the zip file

Click to collapse
And rebooted, I got the Samsung GT-I9070 logo on and then, nothing. The screen goes blank. There is no responsiveness, the softkeys dont glow. Nothing. But I noticed that the screen gets warm, after like 20-30 minutes so I switch it off.
I have read about the Download Mode - Odin flash routine, which wont work for me due to the broken Home Button.
I have also read about the USB JIG, but I cant seem to find any cases where a Jig has been used on a S Advance, but I found one on S/S II, I think.
So, I would like to know:
1) Will a USB JIG work in this case?. If so, is it safe to do it without any permanent risk (like Hard Brick)?
2) Or, is it better to get the Home Button fixed? Or rather, the whole phone fixed( IF they really (can)do that, when the phone is in this irresponsive state. I don't mind spending a few bucks to get it back in condition)
Please post a message if you need more info. Thanks!

Note 5 freezes, reboots without any apparent reason

Since a few days now, my Note 5 N920C just randomly freezes, hangs and reboots. Sometimes the screen goes black and then it reboots sometimes the screen is just the last thing i was using and then it reboots. It even happens when im in recovery trying to flash a zip or when the phone is switched off and charging.
I have tried:
1) Wiping Cache
2) Wiping all data / Factory reset
3) Safe mode (Still reboots)
4) Uninstalling all apps
5) Flashing stock firmware from Samsung Smart Switch
6) Rooting and flashing a new kernel (SkyHigh)
After all of this i still have the same problem. Is there something else i can do? Phone is not in warranty so i really want to make sure there is nothing else i can do to fix or understand the problem before spending money on repairs.
Thanks in advance
Have you checked that there is no power-related issues with the device?

Galaxy Note 9 Mid screen not respond to touch

Hi I hope you all will be fine.
Model# N960U1
Yesterday I updated to andriod pie. After updating I got all new look nd software but one thing note that the mid section of my screen didn't respond to touch. Along with that some times screen freez nd after ten seconds it come back to life. I have tried wipe cache and safe mode start but nothing help. I tried another method like backup data nd factory reset after that phone start working normal but after twelve hour phone of use and encounter the same issue now u can't do that every time to reset. Please advise a solution..
Does it happen if you boot in safe mode? If not there might be some app conflicting. If it is still occurring in safe mode then try factory reset but no data restore. If the issue comes back contact Samsung for repair.

Have you tried backing up only your messages, files and photos without the apps and system settings then factory reset? Do that and redownload all of your apps fresh from the playstore then redo all of your system settings all over again. That could help a lot.

SM - G780G - Screen flickers

Hi all,
My wife just bought the G780G.
I configured her device using Samsung smart switch, and used it to transfer settings, apps and data from her old S8 (first time I did it, usually I prefer to start a new device from scratch...) .
She says she has an issue with the device - sometimes, while using it, the screen flickers...
I didn't see it exactly and she didn't manage to reproduce it to show me, but she says it happens to her quite a lot.
Anyone familiar with this issue?
Any solution you know of?
Thanks!
long shot, if she uses chrome try updating it and android webview along with it. there was an issue months back where that caused system wide flickering and some apps not to work.

I updated Chrome.
No update was needed for Android web view.
Unfortunately it didn't help.
The issue persisted today...
I suspect 2 things:
1. A firmware update that was done yesterday morning (my wife doesn't remember if she encountered it before, she have the phone for 2 days...)
2. Restoring data using smart switch - it can cause issues? I restored the data from her old S8.
Can it be that some corrupted data was transfered?
I'm thinking of factory reseting her device and let her start from scratch..
What do you think?
before you reset try booting to recovery and clearing cache. if there was an update it could be the cache. if it doesn't help then yeah reset is the next option.

Thanks man
How exactly to boot to recovery?
I tried after watching several YouTube videos but had no luck...
Edit : looks like something is messed up with this phone.
I'm not able to boot into recovery.
Doing this:
Turn off device
Press volume up + power button simultaneously.
As soon as I see the Samsung fe logo - I release the buttons - the phone boots regularly...
Booting this phone to recovery is a bit tricky:
1. Shut down phone and wait for a couple of seconds
2. Connect an USB cable to PC and phone
3. Push and hold louder button
4. Push power button until recovery mode will be shown
I prefer ADB:
ADB DEVICES
ADB REBOOT RECOVERY
I press volume up plus power simultaneously while inserting the connected USB cable.
Thanks guys!
Managed to do it after connecting to my laptop.
Just wiped the cache partition - hope it'll help..
Well unfortunately it didn't help.
The screen still flickers.
I'll factory reset the phone.
Hope it'll help and it's not a hardware issue...
consider also reflashing the current firmware. there's even a way to do that that doesn't involve wiping your apps. using the HOME_CSC file will keep your user data intact. then if that yields no results you can try a factory reset.

Thanks man but I don't know exactly how to do it...
I'll factory reset it and that's it.
Hope it'll solve the issue
I wiped the device yesterday.
Looks like the issue is solved.... No more flickering!
Not a hardware issue
Thanks everyone!
Hope it is not a hardware issue. Because my old s5 and pretty all samsung s5 have screen flickering problem especially in cold weather.

Tab S2 Will Not Run Any ROM

My Tab S2 T719Y has started acting really weird recently. For some reason, it would stall trying to run any ROM that I flash to it.
I'm not certain if it's a LineageOS problem or something is dead in the tablet.
I can flash (the few available still maintained) ROMs offered on the forums for my specific model.
The flash would go fine and everything seems to boot fine. I can install GApps and all. Not a single error mesage.
Then it gets to the new device setup wizard and then it stalls with a black screen. Or in the case of having GApps installed, I can choose a language and press Start at the start of the setup wizard, but I end up in a "Just a min.." bootloop and the tablet is unable to do anything except go back to the language select startup page.
The tablet seems to be running fine beneath. The touch buttons light up and haptic feedback still works. By double tapping the Back button I can get the system UI to show that it's switching between apps, but leads to another blank screen. By pulling down from the top, I can even pull open the notifications bar and quick settings. And I'm able to switch them on an off fine.
I've even tried flashing old ROMs that I know for a fact would run fine, but those end up in the same dead screen.
I've tried wiping and formatting everything in the tablet: Dalvik, System, Data, Storage, Cache ... all to no avail.
What is going on here? I'm reading in some Reddit threads that there might be some data access problem?
How do I resolve this?
Restore the stock ROM using odin and 4-file firmware and check again. If it is OK, go ahead
Thank you! That miraculously revived the tablet back from the dead.

Where can I find 4-file firmware.? I tried using Odin to go back to stock 7.0, but the tablet after reboot stops at the Samsung logo. Tried flashing several times and same thing. Help!
