I'm sure this question has been asked before, and I'm expecting the "use search"flame but, I'm on my hd2 over edge at god awful speeds...anyways...
I've had it with this phone, it's terrible. I've had it since launch day, and I'd hoped I would get used to it by now..not the case. before I got this phone I was considering the n1, until I found out it was only upgradeable for individuals. My question is, if I buy an n1 outright, will I be able to get my sim card and put it in and it work?I have a family plan with unlimited data. (T-mobile obviously)
Yes, you can just pop in your exist T-Mobile SIM card and it will work.
Rock on, thanks man.
To add... when I was signing up for my account (I bought the phone outright) I asked what plan options are available. They said I could even use a prepaid SIM in it, they didn't care. Obviously the prepaid would be cheaper depending on how much I use, but you have to keep an eye on it.
From the 3 different TMo reps I talked to, they said your plan is tied to the SIM card, what phone you put that SIM card into, doesn't matter. That's what I was told, hope it's right and hope that helps.

100% correct. I bought the N1 with ATT 3G bands and just slammed my SIM card in it and away I went
Sweet, since I'm here and got more responses than I thought...from the general consensus, what are the biggest "faults"of the n1?
anything like buggy sms, outdated OS, freeze issues, lockups, <24 battery life it anything like that?
Also this if more a personal preference but, I've had tmobile for 3 years now, but I'm really starting to get irked at the lack of 3g and better technology, would it be worth it to break contract and switch to at&t? I just renewed for another 2 years with tmo so I think it's like 175 it something for early cancellation.

nothing so serious as any of those things, the common issues is 3g connectivity being spotty (but they have fixed this for the most part) and touch sensitivity bugs (nothing I've experienced). Tmobile is currently adding 3.5g all around america http://t-mobile-coverage.t-mobile.com/coverage# see the ling in middle of page to see cities with it and what is comming.

Poor Exchange support so if you want this thing to play nice with a work account good luck.
But other than that, there are no show stopper bugs/defects. For the most part the Nexus One with 2.1 is a solid consumer smartphone and there won't be any worry about outdated OS since Google will push out updates to the N1 first and if you're too impatient for them to push it to you, you can always find it here.
About the 3G issues, you may want to check this post which explains how T-Mobile shows their data speeds and check AT&T's coverage map for your area to see how they compare.
I would absolutely not go to AT&T from T-mobile. You're much better off on that side of the road, bro.

2nd.coverage may be good but service is terrible.dropped calls and privacy breeches as well
When attempting to call outbound, I often receive very annoying busy signal, and then it hangs up. This will happen up to 20 times in a row, regardless of my location. This is an upgrade from my old phone which never had this problem with the same SIM. Called Att with out much help. Any ideas?
How old was the old phone for starters?? Also if the Sim is the same from an Older phone sim technology has changed a little bit over the years so that might also be an issue there. I would go to an AT&T Store and have that checked out. Suprised AT&T didn't think of that although honestly they are not taught to trouble shoot very well I should know used to work apple iPhone tech support and AT&T has Horrible Tech Support. LoL I remember one time I called them and than got transferred back to someone in my own call center.

Mine does the same thing and new sim card. so its the phone
Yea, the Phones is brand new, still have 26 days to return it. But I like it. The SIM is about 2years old. I'm gonna go to the AT&T store today and see what they can do. I'll post after to help anyone with the same problem.
Sorry to whine, but I had to share how bad of an experience I have had with this phone on Sprint and was curious what advice you could all offer. Basically I bought the black 16gb version on google play. I was told by Google via telephone that day when I get the phone to just call in or bring it to sprint to activate it. Well after an hour on the phone they don't know what to do and tell me to wait until November 8th. This is silly as others have had it working.
after getting disconnected about 3 times with sprint trying to activate the phone, I later learn that I need a sim card, which is disclosed no where. I was never told about this and had to research it ON MY OWN to even learn about this. I hear that it's also difficult to get one and that you may get push back on it.
Then I learned my speaker was dead on arrival, so now I am waiting for a replacement phone of which they can't promise me free two day shipping which I paid for in the first place, only to receive a defective phone. What the hell? Oh and I had to call back because I never got my confirmation and make a whole new claim. Now my order is stuck as a pending status and who knows how long it will take to ship.
I have to ask, how in gods name can sprint say they support a phone but have no information or literature out there to support the phone? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!.
I worry I bought a 400 paper weight that I'll never get working.
So I don't get it, are you upset that your RMA is taking ages due to a defective speaker or because sprint couldn't activate it on time?
What if they had activated it, the speaker would have been defective anyway, right?

It always fascinates me that consumers in this country (and others I'm sure) have reached a point where they expect everything to be spoonfed to them and that they should have no responsibility in actually researching or learning about something they're about to spend $400 on. Do we as a society just have too much disposable income? I acknowledge that $400 isn't what it used to be but still, if you're concerned that you might be unhappy with your purchase, how much of the onus is on you for not knowing what it was you were buying in the first place?

It sounds to me like it's a combination of both and he is just really frustrated at this point. I understand completely as just have to talk with Sprint CS is infuriating enough.
Instead wasting time on the phone with incompetent CSR's, why don't you just bring the phone to your local sprint store grab a sim and be done with it?
ummm you didnt know that you needed a sim for the phone?? really??
How could you not know you needed a SIM card? These things don't magically connect to every network on the planet.
Every phone needs a SIM card to make calls, use 3G/4G, send texts etc. mate - you've been living in the dark ages or something?
Sprint and Verizon back in the day did not need the Sim card.

Right and wrong. Carriers that use CDMA for 3G such as Verizon and Sprint don't need SIM cards to activate devices on their CDMA network. If you want to use LTE on those networks however, a SIM card is required. This is because LTE is technically a GSM technology. Not that his post is any less incorrect, I'm just posting to inform.
LTE - SIM
3G & WIMAX - No SIM
My SIM is being delivered tomorrow along with my 32GB Nexus 5.
Looking forward to the headaches getting it activated.
You shouldn't be upset the RMA. Trust me, it will come very quickly and you won't pay for shipping on it. I did it with the Nexus 4 on Wednesday, it was in my hand on Friday.

You "MUST" research everything you buy or this is what will happen. I ordered my 32g yester after only researching to find out that it will work on Sprint. It took a few hours of search, but in that time I ordered the Simm that I researched that it needed from Sprint via international chat for free. It was back ordered and my phone won't ship until Nov 22 anyway so hopefully it will be ready by then. I also ordered this case which should be here before the phone.

You can't blame Sprint for not knowing about a device that won't be available until the 8th for activation early now can you. Those that got it early and activated it early should feel that it is a privilege for this to happen. In your case you could have gotten it activated had you thought outside the box. There are tons of Threads about how to activate these all over the internet!

I can blame them when very few stores actually have Sim cards in stock. If you go to any ATT and Tmobile store I guarantee they have Sim's in stock. It's not like this is the only phone Sprint accepts on there network that has a sim.
Post screenshots. As of now I don't think Wideband in Columbus, Ohio is live. My speeds are the same as before. What speeds should we be getting?
Anyone know the screen mode # for the flex to see the information?

Not sure if it does anything for speed, since I am usually on wifi, and dont pay alot of attention to OTA data speed..
If I recall, when I did some tests awhile ago, I never got more than 14-20 megs down, and 6-7 megs up while in my house.
I thought those speeds were acceptable.
T-Mobile has a fantastic network in my area, and I was very happy with their phone/data speeds and quality, even before these updates..

Yea i just did a google search and basically VOLTE really doesn't improve network speeds either T-Mobile updated something through that update or probably the tower around you got a small upgrade. I'm on sprint and i can't complain much as to they are really improving their network and trying to get everywhere covered here's some speeds of mine on sprint.
wow, where are you located?
before I came to Tmobile in February, I was a Sprint user for many years, and, I never had many problems with their network, although the data speeds were horrible.
when they announced the "new" network last year, I was excited that Chicago was one of the first cities to be upgraded; however, once the "upgrade" started, the network was horrific for me; we couldnt make phone calls from our house, data/calls would drop everywhere, and even with an AirRave, their service went from OK to unusable for me. Fortunately, Tmobile announced their program to pay your cancellation fees and such at that time, so we switched to TMO, and have had fantastic service from Day one.
I hated to leave Sprint after all those years, and especially when there was this promise of their great "new" network, so I am amazed to see you have such fantastic speeds and good call quality with them now.

I'm located in Miami and before having a sprint spark phone i had the note 2 which was really struggling on the band 25 network, i too was considering leaving them for T-Mobile but when the flex came out i went to the store to check it out and ran some speed test while i was there and i was amazed by sprint spark new bands so i decided to stay but I'm pretty sure Chicago should be good now or atleast picking up, sprint choose the best route in upgrading their network so it's really going to pay off when they are complete.
Stay on topic please both of you. Hehe j/k.
I left Sprint after 14 years for T-Mobile a little over a year ago. It's kind of funny how Sprint and T-Mobile switched roles at least in some places. T-Mobile use to suck but now Sprint does. I'm really surprised how quick T-Mobile improved the network. I thought Softbank would turn Sprint around quickly but that didn't happen. Now if the Sprint/Tmobile merger happens I don't see that being a good thing. If it does happen I'll probably go to AT&T.
I get around 20mbps with T-Mobile and that's more then enough for me. I'm running a lot of speed test waiting for the Wideband LTE to be active though. Lol
Man those Spark speeds from Sprint are insane! Honestly if Sprint could roll those numbers out for majority of consumers, I'd all be for the merger, lol!

I was more shocked when i ran the app and got these results when i'm usually averaging between 25~40mbps. I would like the merger to happen because it will actually give them a chance to compete against the big 2 major carrier especially with their prices.
I cant imagine that with the hundreds of millions they have both spent recently to upgrade their networks, their networks beings incompatible with each other, that there will ever be a merger between these 2..would the "merged" company be GSM or CDMA? Would they have spent 100's of millions to upgrade their incompatible networks, if a merger was in the works?
Doesn't make any sense, but who knows..
Sprint is taking years upgrading it's network even with Sotfbanks $. T-Mobile upgraded the network in a year. I really don't see prices going down if the merger happens. If anything they would go up. I'm just shocked Hesse still has a job. I do want to see Sprint turn things around though.

Well you see that's where you don't know the difference the reason they're taking longer is the direction they went by also changing the whole equipment base etc at each site which are going to pay off in the long run tmobile isn't doing that they just upgrading their speed and such that's why they are finishing way quicker which is going to hurt them later on in the future when they really realize that it would have to replace almost all the equipment in that base site which will lead to problems like customer calling and complaining about the issue they are having with their service and such basically its going to be a deja vu all over again.

Dude take off your Sprint blinders. lol I was with Sprint for 14 years and had so many phones I've lost track. lol My point is I know what's going on in the wireless industry. Sprint is taking years to upgrade the network because they keep making bad decisions. Clearwire was a bust. WiMAX was a bust. LightSquared deal was a bust too – granted, that one wasn't really Sprint’s fault. Oh and the big Nextel mistake. Sprints history shows an inability to pick a winner. The only customers calling to complain are Sprints. I feel bad for Sprint customers when Hesse says "just wait for the network of your dreams". lmao They have been waiting for years. Sprint should be giving them a credit since some can't even watch a youtube video. I was one a year ago and Sprint said all 4 of my phones were defective. lol They offered me a one time $5 credit. I laughed then hung up the phone and went to T-Mobile. Then Sprint comes out with Framily. lol I think that's so stupid. I don't want to have recruit strangers and then worry about them paying the bill on time so my bill doesn't change.
T-Mobile has expanded Wideband LTE into 16 total markets, giving all T-Mobile LTE devices a speed boost with capable peak network download speeds up to nearly 150 Mbps. In January T-Mobile bought a swath of unused spectrum from Verizon Wireless for $3.3 billion that will help expand its coverage to more regions outside of the metropolitan areas.
I really hope the merger doesn't happen because T-Mobile is hot and Sprint will just cool them off. lol Hopefully T-Mobile can get another 3 billion for the failed deal like what happened with AT&T. No one can predict the future as far as you saying T-Mobile will go through what Sprint is going through now. Good thing is I'm not in a contract. Hopefully Sprint can turn things around and fix the bad image they have now. No one can deny, 2013 was T-Mobile’s year.
Report: T-Mobile best, Sprint worst carrier in KC
http://m.bizjournals.com/kansascity...e-best-sprint-worst-carrier-in-kc.html?r=full
Seems like I read somewhere that as of Jan 1st 2014 T-Mobile opened up 75,000 new towers in North America, supporting 4g LTE. I had Verizon for years then went to AT&T for about 6 months and now on T-Mobile. Verizon did have the best coverage of 4g lte , at&t was OK but I always had to fight them about BS on my bill and overages. I had a GS4 on AT&T during the 4.2 to 4.3 update, I was rooted with unlocked boot loader I couldn't take the OTA but that didn't stop them from sending the 592mb update 17 times one month and 22 times another month. Forcing me to have overages. I had to call and fight my way out of them both times. And if I didn't know as much as I do about android and our systems I couldn't have convinced the customer service MANAGER that that was what it was. Then after having issues with the network cust. Service told me they couldn't support or help me with my issue until I took the update. They said "Our tech support is trained to handle issues with 4.3" so I asked "what happened to the crew that was trained on 4.2, did you fire all of them?",
Long story short I left and got ETF paid by T-Mobile and got unlimited data again. I average 40-45 mBs download speeds and have had the best customer service experience with tmo.
And I love being able to use thus much data :
thats ALOT of Porno viewing, bro..:cyclops:
Agree with everything you said; Verizon is great if you travel for a living, but I dont do that anymore, so I only care what works in Chicago land; ATT was fine after they updated their network here a couple of years ago, but, their cust svc/tech support was lame at best, and after a brief try with Sprint, and their "Alleged" great new network, we decided our last hope was T-Mobile, and we love everything about them, for us, in Chicago land..
Great Customer service when we need them, great low pricing, great service in our area, and all issues are taken care of immediately, without a question or argument...We couldnt be happier with our cellular choices right now, and hope it stays this way for a long time..
We are moving to the Dallas area in a year or 2, so I hope their coverage is as good down there as it is up here..
I even bricked my first rooted g flex and took it to the T-Mobile store and for $5 shipping charge they sent me a brand new one not refurbished but new. The first one was only 3 weeks old.
The CEO and Head of Marketing are determined to make T-Mobile a monopoly and out to show other carriers it can be done better, faster, cheaper, and unlimited. Any company, mobile carrier or not, that does not take cues or adapt this mentality of business and customer care is run by morons.
I just picked up this phone cause it was finally able to work on Verizon but I can't get any mobile data. I can get on the internet just not make or receive calls and texts. Total Wireless uses Verizon's network so I can't figure out why I am having trouble. I bought a new sim, tried 4 different apn combinations, talked with TW customer service for over 45 minutes and can't find a reason why I can't get calls. Anyone else out there with this phone in a similar situation and if you got it fixed how'd you go about it? Thank you all for your time and hope someone can chime in on the problem.
You need your sim configured with "CDMA-Less" profile. The TW reps are not the brightest, but if you do a search for CDMA-less profile you'll see even verizon reps don't know about this.. I hope you get this sorted. I have TW and vzw with gudp account. let me know if you get this fixed. I want the 128GB model.

Thank you for the reply. Ispoke with TW tech service yetserday morning and told them that is what the Razer customer support said about the cdma less side of the service. They told me to leave the Sim in the phone for 24 hours to configure but it is way past the 24 hour mark and still can't make or receive calls and texts. I have a number the TW tech gave me that's a direct line to him so I'm going to have to call. 800.00 for a phone I can only use for internet is way too high

Might as well give up on it. Bee on the phone with TW tech manager and with Verizon level 3 tech support.Verizon can't change mine because my account is with TW. TWcan't change it cause the change has to be made on Verizon's side. So basically any mvno of Verizon will not work. Was told Verizon prepay will but I get 6gb of data for 35 a month.Dont see me paying more for less data just to keep a phone

Have you thought about contacting razor? And going about getting a FULL refund. Every other phone with verizon support works on total wireless. I'm mad and i don't even have the phone...
They didn't get the phone verizon certified till a few days ago:

Also you might want to post over at https://www.reddit.com/r/razerphone/
To let razor and other people know it won't work with total wireless... I still want the 128GB model... What is worse is my local best buy has the 64GB model for $645.

I can get a refund and probably will. I have contacted Razer support and they said the first batch of phones that shipped on the 10th wouldn't even work for Verizon. A bunch of hoops had to be jumped through just to get a text message and even then it was spotty. If a person is on a Verizon mvno and wants to get the phone my advice would be to wait till the newness wears off a little and see if the bugs get ironed out. 645 is cheaper than what I paid. The BB where I live is 779$ over 850.$ after tax for the 64gb model

Thanks for making this thread though. Get that refund and get the phone again down the road. The Oneplus 6 will get CDMA-less verizon support and I hope that works on total wireless. I've had zero problems with it and all my verizon phones work in it. If the LG V40 was notch-less like this phone I'd get that. The pixel phones are a no go because the lack of sdcard support, I like to carry my music with me.
BUGS
That's part of the reason I'm waiting on the 128GB model, it only exists on razor's website and clearly there's a showstopping bug.... None of reviewers even talk about it either.
One this review they make a stupid comment about wanting less ram and 128GB the date on it is 10/10/18
https://www.anandtech.com/show/1342...ds-on-now-with-wireless-charging-ip67-and-rgb
I perhaps think that going for a 6GB DRAM / 128 GB storage might be more welcome than the 8GB/64GB configuration however - I wonder exactly what users would need to do in order to hit 8GB of DRAM on a phone.
I've noticed a number of journalists already comment on the price. The last generation was $699, so this one being $799, with the feature changes is perhaps to be expected in a world where $999+ for a flagship device seems to be increasingly the norm.

Anyways let me know your end result with all this I appreciate it.
Ok update time. By sticking an old T-Mobile SIM in the phone and going in apn menu,if u put Tw apn in then pull out old SIM and put in Tw sim and make sure it's on global with advance lte calling checked I can make and receive calls, and send texts and pics but can't receive texts or pics. Don't know why that is but still working on it.
In 7.0 and above Google has locked apn settings on cdma phones so u have to use a gsm sim to access the app list.It doesn't have to be an active sim, just one that's gsm. Hope this helps anyone that wants this phone or has it and has the same issue as me.

The texts are being sent to your phone via cdma which the phone does not have the radio for hence the need for cdma-less profile on sim card. How's data for you?
Data is fine. It was before.just before there was no cellular network connection.

Nobody wants this phone to work on total wireless more than me.. Thank you for the continued updates..
I do have a few questions:
When did you get the phone? The exact date.. Did you have to update the phone or check for updates?
If you read this thread this guy talks about the issue even after Verizon certification on the 25th

Just an FYI to anyone still waiting on their device:
I received my phone today and had no trouble using my existing SIM card. Had no issues getting the LTE network, sending/receiving calls, and sending texts. I did still have the issue of not receiving texts. I jumped on a Verizon support chat, mentioned the CDMA-less fix, and it was applied to my profile. Once that happened, texts started flowing in.
Just wanted to let folks know that this had to be done even after the Verizon certification on the 25th.

I got the phone on Monday and as soon as I turned it on it updated. No asking if I wanted to just went straight to it. It is fine if you are on Version you can ask for the cdma-less profile but The TW tech manager said she didn't know what that meant and the Verizon tech o spoke to said since I was on a mvno of Verizon that he couldn't do anything for me.I asked if he would explain to the TW person but apparently that was too much to ask for.

Could the verizon rep still see your account even though is it with total wireless? The TW reps are useless in most cases. and I wouldn't trust them to screw in a light blub. The oneplus 6T will be like the razor phone 2 and require a CDMA-less profile, so TW will have to do something about this down the road. You could port your number to tracfone and probably have everything working., the company that owns tracfone own TW. I've been reading about people porting their number to google voice and forwarding call to whatever provider they are using.
Just a question: Did you add the IMEI number from the razor phone to your totalwireless account either via the web page or phone rep? There has to be a way for total wireless to setup a CDMA-less profile on your phone.
I asked if they could but the tech manager acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. Like if I had asked her if elephants fly. I know it can be done, it's just a matter of finding someone at TW that can and will do it
Well I been on another go around with TW tech support about getting a cdma-less profile and once again get told they have no idea what it is and when I said to consult with Verizon support to find out how to enable it on my account I was told that they could not do that. So I will be switching to H20 or Cricket and taking the phone back and order a OP6T. maybe after a month or 2 I'll go pick one up again.

I got this from the OPO forums, and didn't note the credit to who posted but here's this:
The CDMA-less feature is an available feature, meaning, unless the tech support person sees it as available for the system, he cannot add it. This is why some people get this feature added quickly by tech support and some people cannot. If tech support cannot add the CDMA-less feature, you need to tell them to look up on the network and billing system what the phone is showing up as. In 99% of cases once the IMEI is received, the network updates properly and the phone is registered as a OnePlus 6T but in the billing system it shows up unspecified/unrecognized. In this situation the tech cannot add the CDMA-less feature because he/she cannot see it as available. To verify this, if you login to your Verizon account your phone will not show as a ONEPLUS 6T. This means that there is a discrepancy and when the clueless tech is trying add this CDMA-less feature he/she doesn't see it.
The solution is to ask the Tech person to SYNC the network and billing so that the billing side can also see the phone as a OnePlus 6T. When this is done, and his side is refreshed, the CDMA-LESS feature becomes available. Once it is available, he/she can activate it.

You're Welcome by the way.
