Hi guys,
I've modded the camera by adding a setting to build.prop: 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1'
This unlocked nicely Camera 2 API, that was confirmed by Manual Camera Compatibility app (all green).
Now I can use for example Lightroom camera for manual settings, but when I choose DNG as the forat to save it crashes Lightroom app.
The FV-5 camera does not even allow me to choose DNG. So is this phone capable of using DNG?
I'm on MIUI Global 8.2 stable.
I have enabled Camera API2 on my phone but Lightroom can't import the DNG, even those capture by Lightroom.
I use Photo Mate R3. It work very well.
Use the Adobe DNG Converter

Just have enabled the Camera API2 on build.props and use any camera software that capture raw. I use ProShot to capture and Pro Mate R3 to edit.

Gotcha!
So this is what is going on: Indeed, any camera capable of API2 produce DNG files. Lightroom too. But, Lightroom camera crashes when saving DNG and cannot read them (even that it captured it itself). Pro Mate R3 can read it indeed. DNG files are invisible in Google Pictures, they are only visible in file explorer (or capable applications like Pro Mate R3).
Lightroom can capture and process DNGs using front camera. This is about Lightroom 2.3.2
Thanks for clarification!
Pls suggest / link for gcam for sirocco
Download from here, work perfect: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_6.1.021_N7P_test2.1_defaultjpg.apk
Link is from this theme: https://community.phones.nokia.com/...or-the-google-camera-port-for-nokia-8-sirocco
All versions from back.rider are working fine.

Hello, did anybody found a working version of GCam for Nokia 8 Sirocco after the recent update to Android 10? I tried many apps suggested in the Nokia 7 Plus thread, as it's supposed to have the same internals but no success. I disabled battery optimization. The app starts once, I allow it everything and afterwards it just crashes. The only port, which was semi-successful was KillerCam_V1-Final_SA10.apk based on GCam 6.1 (I can't post a link, sorry) I'm able to capture a movie but not a photo. I can make panoramas and use the lens blur but not normal photos or portraits. The version based on GCam 7.2 crashes like all other ports. Did anybody else had more luck?
EDIT: I also set it like recommended in this post:
Killer Mod mandatory settings
1."Fix tap on focus" should be Enabled
2."Buffer Fix" should be Enabled
3."Using Sabre" should be Never
4."Max allowed memory" its upto you allow as maximum as you can. In my case 1680

The app is still not able to take photos.
It's not working because hmd disabled Raw Capture with the update, gcam needs raw for HDR+ and...well everything computational.

Can Raw Capture be enabled somehow on rooted devices?
there's a way to prevent gcam from crashing described on the Nokia Community board (can't post a link because I just registered):
1. Install KillerCam_V1.5_Revolution_6.1.021.apk
2. Go to app details and force stop Killer Cam
3. Clear all app data from Killer Cam
4. Start Killer Cam and confirm access to location etc.
5. Close Killer Cam
6. Install Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6-Fu24_5Lens-02b6.5-A10.apk
this does result in a working, usable app at least, but still without RAW support of course.
It doesn't crash but what's the point without HDR+, portrait and night shot.
Better of to install gcam go

GCam Go is pretty decent for me. Not as good as GCam on Pie, but certainly better than the potato quality of Nokia's Camera app.

Gcam without HDR is same as stock Camera.
RAW Capture is disabled in Sirocco and is enabled in 7 Plus. I suggest everyone to contact them and tell about it.
I think it is end of the line for nokia 8 sirocco

No HDR in GCam Go.Video stabilization is bad and no night mode.
This is true, but GCam Go work better than original Camera software from Nokia.

This method gcam app works better than Go cam, at least there is video stabilization .
1. Install KillerCam_V1.5_Revolution_6.1.021.apk
2. Go to app details and force stop Killer Cam
3. Clear all app data from Killer Cam
4. Start Killer Cam and confirm access to location etc.
5. Close Killer Cam
6. Install Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6-Fu24_5Lens-02b6.5-A10.apk
If you have found the perfect gcam mod and settings combination, please share it.
For all the 6.1 / 6.2 versions I have tried, there was one or more of the options not working.
The BSG build 2e worked best so far.

Thanks a lot for this link !
It's the first gcam 7, I could install.
* Most features work for me.
* Night sight camera (preview) is 90 degree rotated, but the images are correct.
* With the auxiliary camera (enable 2nd and 3rd lens), the app crashes when selecting one of the other lenses.
* After crashing, I can not open the app anymore. I had to delete the app's data files to start it up again anew.
Unfortunately, it this gcam version can not work with the 64MP camera.
Great share.
Any chance to have the support of the tele and ultrawide Lens ? Tried many different releases of GCAM for several device but none of them was working with Realme X2 Pro 3rd lens...
Wgere can we find latest versions of the gcam port ?
Find this site but there is no X2 Pro GCAM release dedicated to this device for the moment.

For stock camera's also, Realme doesn't use a zoom lens for video,
try to close the lens while shooting the video to know what lens to use, *maybe the (hardware) zoom lens on the x2 pro really can't record video

Thanks for the videos, might wait a bit then. But the selfie camera is way better with GCam though.
gcam version: GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.2-fix.apk
Cons:
0,6x is Macro sensor and
, 2x is actually UltraWide
No UltraWide/Macro Video
No 64M mode
No Bulb Flash in photo mode
Macro is better in stock
Pros
Sharper in low light than stock
UltraWide NightSight works, stock nightmode only in main camera
Less chromatic aberration
Focus tracking in photo mode (need testing)
creared question se below
Same bug here, wide and macro are changed (v2.2 with no extra config)

Gcam must be adapted for each device, right?
What's the point of using gcam if there's not a device-specific gcam for us yet? At least afaik

Edit: here are some night pics:
btw for those interested, I managed to adapt a config from K30 in Wichaya's cam (most work is camera IDs, all quality settings and such are my preference, but didn't go into the advanced ones, for AWB I used the "most similar" camera setting, which is the poco x2 one) not sure if the best or not, feel free to edit the config, and share the config with us if you are good with photo settings )
Everything I tested (macro, 0.6) is working (mostly similar to what bacitoto posted, except cameras have the right "name"), except:
1- Bokeh effect in portrait mode (idk if that gcam can support it, no slider i think)
2- Zoom bug in front-camera VIDEO recording (there's a workaround, just zoom upto 1.01 and it works fine, 1.00/default zoom looks like 500.00 zoom :S).
3- Macro/0.6 crash on video, but I think stock camera doesn't support that aswell?
4-other things i'm not even aware they exist?

+see guide here to import config https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/settings09/
i'm not an expert, but works
for me, gcam is years away versus stock camera, at least when taking photos at my floor :S (it has wooden details and such)
PS: You might want to use 4:3 instead of 16:9, 16:9 loses too many MPs

I'm not sure. HDR and HDR+ Enhanced are both okay for me,even at lower light pictures. I'll test it in the morning again
So after some of testing i found that HDR works good until the light gets lower, then it shoots very dark photos. I could not fix that via mod settings, tried everything.
HDR Enhanced on lower lighting shoots kinda nightshots but with purple tinting all over.
Nightsight does the job just fine and selfies are way better with Gcam than the native app.
Currently using BSG latest recommended version. Get it >HERE
Playing around with the mod settings didn't bring any noticeable improvement, the only thing worth experimenting with is the different AWB settings from different google models.
If someone has this nice device again (apart the awful main camera on it) I'd suggest to give a try to these gcams, that with a little of configuration work well:
LMC GCam 8.4 and Shamim Gcam 8.4
GCam 8.4.600 is working great here. Night mode is impressive.

A good thing, focus tracking works again for photos and portrait (option in settings).
Bad thing i still keep getting dark photos in normal photo mode and lower light conditions
(f.e. indoors with plenty of room lighting) so night sight is a must.
Any other option in settings that helped you getting better results?
Hello,
I have an Realme 8 with 8gb and 128gb with helio G95.

Hello,
Just manage to stabilize Gcam on my phone...
On the options i choose Pixel 2 on both, and deativated all the social media integration crap...
Now i can take pictures (even if the live screen is very stuttery), and the app don´t crash.
The problem im having now is with video recording.
If i choose 4k 30 fps, i have a very stutter movie (and live view), even deativating the EIS, don´t seem to help at all.
By lowering the resolution to 1080p, i have a more smooth experience (not perfect), but the image quality is not the same...
What can i do?
Best Regards,
LPC
PS: I manage to see that i can put the second mode on Pixel 7XL, BUT the interface MUST ALLWAYS BE Pixel 2
Well Just tested night photography with this phone and Gcam, and...
It was a complete disaster... The photos came out very very noisy... so grainy and i don´t know why...
I did choose the night mode...
Can anyone help me?
Best Regards,
LPC
