Only 10 seconds on slow mo video? - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

I guess no matter what setting, you can only record 10 seconds of slow mo video?

Yes and there is limited control over it.
Not too impressed by it.

Super Slow-mo flickering/waves on screen

I just noticed today that my Huawei P20 Pro camera flickers and there's a wave-like flowing on the screen when using Super Slow-mo at x32 and x8 under fluorescent lighting, like in the office. I have yet to try under daylight.

Hiya
This is normal. Slow motion recording especially at the higher fps needs really good light as in outdoors.
A lot of cameras flicker indoors.
Nothing wrong with your phone though, my S9+ was not good at slow mo indoors either.
Because the lights are flickering.

That's the problem... You can't record super slow video under lights (not only p20 pro but with every phone) because of the flickering of lights that your eyes can't see... If you try in phisical light you will see that everything is good...

You can with constant lighting such as LEDs

The same phenomena happens with a professional slowmotion cameras for $5000+, you just can't get around the refreshrates of artificial lightsources.

Maybe you must read better the thread. It's only a point of view or at best a theory.
Although I agree that it does not have the best recording in slow motion
When the winds of change blow, some build walls, others build windmills
It's on high-speed cams, they have tested a number of phone cameras, they say the p20 pro is recording at a slower speed than 960 FPS and is using software to slow it down even more.

The problem is just that your light is flickering.
If, like mine, your light flickers at 50hz, then 960 fps will exhibit worse flickering.

Yes, I had already read it but as I said it is just an opinion (that even maybe influenced by another manufacturer...)

How many minutes can i record at 1080p 60FPS on Huawei P20 PRO

Guys, i have a Galaxy Note 8 and it has a 10 limit recording unless you go 1080p 30FPS which sucks...How long can i record with the P20 PRO ?
Thanks a lot !
Except 4k recording which limited to 10 minutes , every other recording resolution is not limited by time , including 1080p 60 FPS.

Night mode prom p20 pro.

Hy. My wife has p20 pro and its an incredible phone in terms of camera but i think note 8 can get to p20 pro performance with pro mode. Night mode from p20 pro is epic. Is a long exposure photo that light the photo snd make it verry shart and detail. Anyone know how to replicate such a result with note 8 camera on pro mode?

You need a tripod and long shutter speed depending on the level of darkness - the darker, the slower shutter speed you need. If you are rooted, you can set incredibly long shutter speed. If you are not rooted, I am not sure what was the limit.
I also like Huawei's night mode, because it is easy to use. I had the Mate 7 quite some years back and I was able to shoot incredible shots in almost complete darkness. Given the fact how less advanced were mobile cameras back then, it was amazing.
Ok. I got tripod and root. Anyone can make a tutorial how to use pro mode with long e posure for great result. Share some setting if you had result. Thanks!

A litle more support here. Any person that know how to setup pro mode or any app that can bring close result like night mode on p20 pro? Still this mode is unbeateble not even note 9 can equalize result. Samsung should realy steal the secret on that mode. Its simpy fantastic.

Is there an Option to enable Motion Shot for every picture by default?

Hi all,
Is there any option to enable "motion shots" for all photos taken with standard camera for the P30 pro.
It seems like this was possible in old FW or at least for the Mate 20 Pro.
Now this feature is separated to the special motion shot menu, which seems a bit less in overall picture quality and you need to select this dedicated everytime starting the Camera App.
Also the saved motions shots seems not like google standards, since they a) have sound b) only shareable to other Huawei devices and c) in google photos they are not "moving".
I just want to have this for every picture, like apple have it with "live photos" and even my old Samsung Note 9 was able to do this.
Just for reference an example shot from my note 9: https://photos.app.goo.gl/obaqot9XH6SqKqKb9
...this is what I want for all pictures with my p30 pro, too.
For sure it can be excluded in night shot and other special modes
So just tellme if there is a way to get this tweaked or I am lost
Thanks in advance
A huge thing I miss from Windows Phone since moving to Android.

P30 pro slow mo only 10 secs?

Hello, is it true that you can only record 10 seconds slow motion video? If its true then it sucks. I cant find any settings to change this as i obviously need more time for majority of slow mo's im tryna film. Thanks in advance
The worst part is the autofocus in slowmo 960: sucks
Sent from my P30Pro using Tapatalk
Yeah i noticed that too. Looks like slow mo focuses better with alot of light.
Better say... p30 pro doesn't have slow motion. Every slow motion in p30 pro is very bad.
960fps is software achieved, it's not real 960fps. I think kirin 980 isn t capable for 960fps and 4k 60fps. Not much of a difference with kirin 970 capabilities.
As above, it's not true 960FPS, but in an attempt to make people think it is they still impose the same recording limit that real 960fps phones have...
